Elle Bobe of South Knox wins 2025 Wooden/MCL citizenship award

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — South Knox girls basketball player Elle Bobe has been named a winner of the Wooden/MCL Citizenship award for 2025.
During her senior season, Bobe led the South Knox girls' basketball team to a 28-2 record and the Class 2A state championship, while averaging 19.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Bobe has also set school records for career points (1,756), season points (581 as a senior) and points in a single game (37 points). She also holds records for career three-pointers, career assists and free throw percentage.
South Knox girls coach honored as Coach of the Year
Bobe is a three-time IBCA Small School All-State selection, a four-time all-Blue Chip Conference selection, a three-time Vincennes Sun-Commercial first-team All-Area and Player of the Year and two-time Evansville Courier & Press all-Southwestern Indiana.
Bobe plans to major in physical therapy at the University of Southern Indiana, after being named class valedictorian. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and President of her school's Business Club. Bobe was also a vice president and participant in Student Council, Key Club and Interact Club.
Hollie Eaves named IBCA District 3 Coach of the Year
The Wooden/MCL Citizenship Award has been presented to one All-Star boy and one All-Star girl annually since 1992. The award is named after the late John Wooden, a former player at Martinsville High School and Purdue University, and later a 10-time NCAA championship coach at UCLA.

Indiana coach Stephanie White stopped short Monday of saying Clark had been cleared for basketball activities, saying the club was ready for the reigning Rookie of the Year to start 'ramping back up.' The Fever initially said Clark would miss at least two weeks, and it has been 16 days since Clark was injured in a 90-88 loss to the Liberty. She finished the game, saying later adrenaline likely allowed her to play with the strain. Clark told reporters last week she was targeting a Tuesday return, but said she wouldn't rush it.
