The 1% Club player makes embarrassing blunder on question that had 11 people stumped – could you guess right?
A PLAYER on The 1% Club made an embarrassing blunder on a question that left several others stumped - could you guess correctly? This 70% question eliminated 11 people altogether in the ITV game show. 5 5 5 Lee Mack had asked the remaining contestants: "Based on the results shown here, which of these sports teams is the best?" The screen showed various final game scores for a selection of fictional teams. Available options included A) Breezers, B) All Stars, C) Flames or D) Gems. Once the 30 second time limit was up, it was revealed 11 people had chosen the wrong team. The correct answer was Breezers, who had successfully won all of their games. Lee then proceeded to turn his attention to eliminated player Zainab. Having asked what she answered, the contestant replied: "I put All Stars. "I didn't even look at the numbers. I just thought, 'Oh, All Stars. They just seem like the best name.'" Lee responded: "Whoa, you didn't just go with what you thought was the best name?" As she nodded to confirm, Lee asked: "What did you think all the numbers were for?" The 1% Club player brands herself 'thick' as she gets easy picture question wrong - but would you have made the same mistake? Zainab explained: "I don't know - I don't watch football or anything like that." To which Lee remarked: "They're not real teams! And it's not even football, it says sport." In another episode, a contestant branded herself "thick" after getting an easy picture question wrong. The players had been asked: "Which of these Vincent van Gogh self-portraits has been altered?" Players had just 30 seconds to examine three photos of the famous painter and pick out the correct answer. The answer turned out to be C - as this featured the legendary Dutch artist wearing earbuds, which weren't invented for another 100-years after his death in 1890. The faked image also played on the fact Van Gogh infamously also cut off one of his ears during a furious row with artist Paul Gaugin. After revealing four people got it wrong, Lee turned his attention to one of these players - Margaret. The 1% Club's Most Difficult Questions The 1% Club sees 100 contestants try and make it to the 1% question and be in with a chance to win a share of the jackpot. Here are just some of the show's most difficult teasers. Players had to compare and contrast three images of butterflies then explain which of the butterflies were exactly the same on both sides. MAFS star rushes herself to hospital after pus begins oozing from her very puffed up eye
MARRIED at First Sight star Shona Manderson has revealed she rushed herself to hospital after her eye swelled up and started oozing pus. The reality star, 32, shared shocking snaps of her puffed-up, red-raw eye on Instagram telling fans she was 'so emotional'. 4 4 4 Posting a string of updates from the hospital, Shona wrote: 'How's my eye thing going? 'I haven't got that worried about it the last six weeks or so – I haven't even been to see anyone, just a pharmacist. 'But today I've taken myself to eye casualty and I'm so emotional about it because it hurts and Matt is working away and my whole family – apart from me – are on holiday t.'* She added: 'But I've pulled myself together and come to the hospital. 'Everything is swollen & my eyes have puss [sic] coming out of them!' Shona said her day started trying not to cry but it quickly spiralled. 'I started the day trying not to cry and ended up spending my day crying,' she admitted. 'I've left eye casualty now – I wasn't actually there for long – but I cried again because she said I can't use anything on my face. 'And I cried again because I've got my acne under control with the skincare I use and I just imagined that all going back to where it was before.' The telly favourite said she left the hospital with no prescription, but a firm warning to ditch her current eye drops. She met her boyfriend Matt Pilmoor soon after through the show. The Sun told how Shona had found love with Matt, despite tying the knot to different people on the series. Matt married Adrienne Naylor, but the pair struggled to hit it off straight away. A REAL WEDDING Matt told OK! Magazine: 'We definitely want to get married. Getting married abroad would be lovely but, logistically, we would do it in the UK for family coming and stuff like that.' Shona continued: 'Yeah, we've spoken about getting married. Matt has said he will wear a kilt because my family are Scottish. We would get married here in the UK and have an amazing honeymoon, maybe in Bali. We've spoken about engagement rings, we just need the money first.'

School unveils war memorial for former pupils killed in wars
A new war memorial dedicated to former pupils killed in combat has been unveiled at a Devon School. The memorial at Plymouth College remembers the almost 200 former pupils who died in conflicts dating back to World War One. After 32 years in the Royal Marines, former pupil Jason Cox, who is now the college's health and safety officer, came up with the said one of the reasons he wanted to create the memorial was to honour his former classmate who was killed in Iraq in 2003. Founded in 1887, the school lost 112 pupils in the First World War and 68 in the Second World other names have been added, including former pupil Maj Jason Ward, who was killed when the US helicopter he was travelling in crashed in the Iraqi desert in 2003. Mr Ward was a pupil at the college at the same time as Mr Cox and they both joined the Royal Marines in to BBC Radio Devon, Mr Cox said: "That's one of the reasons why I've taken this to heart because of Jason."He added: "The wonderful thing is his mother is travelling with his brother down from Barnstaple to attend the ceremony, so she's going to be our guest of honour." Mr Cox said he had the idea for the memorial after seeing that the boards in the school, which showed former pupils who had been killed in combat, were looking "old and faded"."It was only going to be a small granite block with possibly a brass plaque on it with some appropriate wording," he said."It sort of morphed into something a lot larger and a lot bigger and the headmaster decided to include all of the names of all the pupils to put on the plaque." Speaking about the names of the fallen solders from the First World War, Mr Cox said all of the people were "local lads"."If you could imagine 112 lads being taken away from the local community and never seen again - it must have been quite devastating for the city," he said.A ceremony to unveil the memorial attended by members of government and the armed forces was held at the school on Friday.
