DHS publishes a list of 500 sanctuary cities for ‘obstructing the enforcement' of Trump's deportation plans
The Department of Homeland Security has published a list of 500 sanctuary cities it claims are ' deliberately and shamefully obstructing' the Trump administration's deportation plans.
A list of sanctuary jurisdictions, which includes cities, countries and states across the U.S., was posted to the department's website Thursday as the administration increases the pressure on communities it believes are standing in the way of President Donald Trump 's mass deportations agenda.
'These sanctuary city politicians are endangering Americans and our law enforcement in order to protect violent criminal illegal aliens,' Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.
'Sanctuary jurisdictions including cities, counties, and states that are deliberately and shamefully obstructing the enforcement of federal immigration laws endangering American communities,' the department said. 'Sanctuary cities protect dangerous criminal aliens from facing consequences and put law enforcement in peril.'
The list was compiled using a number of factors, including whether the cities or localities identified themselves as sanctuary jurisdictions, how much they complied already with federal officials enforcing immigration laws, if they had restrictions on sharing information with immigration enforcement or had any legal protections for people in the country illegally, according to the department.

Mets grab early lead, hand Rockies 7th straight loss
May 31 - Brett Baty hit a bases-clearing triple in a four-run first inning, Kodai Senga pitched 6 1/3 strong innings and the host New York Mets cruised to an 8-2 victory over the MLB-worst Colorado Rockies on Saturday. Brandon Nimmo hit a two-run homer and Juan Soto added a homer off Colorado's Antonio Senzatela (1-10) when the Mets hit back-to-back drives in the fourth. Tyrone Taylor added an RBI single in the first and Jeff McNeil homered in the eighth as the Mets won for the sixth time in seven games. Francisco Lindor reached base four times as the Mets finished with 11 hits and moved a season-high 14 games over .500. Senga (6-3) allowed two run-scoring hits in his second-longest outing this season. The right-hander struck out seven and walked two in an outing that began when Colorado leadoff hitter Jordan Beck struck out on a pitch clock violation. Ezequiel Tovar homered after Beck's game-opening strikeout and Thairo Estrada had an RBI single that chased Senga in the seventh. Senzatela allowed seven runs on eight hits in four innings. The right-hander struck out two, walked two and lost his seventh straight start. After Tovar homered to left on Senga's full-count forkball, the Mets took a 4-1 lead in the bottom half on shaky defense by center fielder Brenton Doyle. Baty lifted a fly ball to left-center field that carried over Doyle's head and resulted in a triple when the ball went off the fence. May 31 - Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna Jr. each hit home runs to support Spencer Schwellenbach's strong start and the Atlanta Braves blanked the visiting Boston Red Sox 5-0 on Saturday to even their three-game interleague series. The Braves, who had lost seven of their last nine, took a 3-2 lead in the season series. Boston has dropped six of its last seven. Riley and Acuna both went deep in the fourth inning when the Braves rallied for four runs to take control. Schwellenbach (4-4) pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings and allowed five hits and no walks with 11 strikeouts. It was his second straight appearance with 11 strikeouts, matching his career high. Daysbel Hernandez struck out both batters he faced to close the seventh. Dylan Lee pitched a perfect eighth and Rafael Montero worked the ninth to nail down Atlanta's third shutout win.
