She played Mel Sinclair in Casualty and has also appeared in Coronation Street, EastEnders and Doctors.
The actress will make her debut in the coming weeks.
The ITV soap has also snapped up esteemed actress Jaye Griffiths who has had major roles in Casualty, The Bill, Silent Witness and Doctors.
And she's going to be playing a new villainous character who could prove problematic for farmer Moira Dingle.
Viewers know Moira is in serious trouble and facing massive fines for her farm contaminating the water supply.
And while it was John Sugden who framed Mackenzie Boyd for the crime, Moira's facing losing her beloved farm.
So when a neighbouring farmer makes herself known, Moira's facing a huge crisis.
Newcomer Ceilia calls to enquire if she can rent two of her fields, Moira is quick to shrug her off, but she clearly means business.
Celia's reputation precedes her as Moira isn't keen to deal with this woman, despite bad finances on her own farm.
And soon when poor vet Paddy is brutally attacked and hospitalised by one of Celia's guard dogs we start to get the measure of her true colours from her reaction to the attack.
Producer Laura Shaw explains: 'We are absolutely delighted to have Jaye Griffiths joining us to play the role of Celia.
'Having recently taken over a nearby farm, not much is known about mysterious Celia's past before arriving on the outskirts of the village.
'While Celia has a tough edge with an air of respectability, the audience, and our villagers, will soon start to see what this woman is truly capable of.'
Jaye explains: 'I was delighted to get this role - without giving the game away she is very different to anyone I have played before and I can't wait to really get into the heart of her storyline.'
Celia is renting a neighbouring farm in Emmerdale from Kim Tate, but with the Bartons and Sugdens as farming families already well established within the community there is definitely conflict on its way.

Love Island: Why Was This Contestant Axed Before The Show Had Even Started?
The countdown to the new series of Love Island is officially underway, with the 12th season of the show airing on Monday. After weeks of speculation, the Love Island cast was officially revealed this week. However, one contestant has reportedly been dumped from the villa before the show has even begun. Just one day after the cast announcement, it was revealed that Kyle Ashman had been axed from the show after he was arrested on suspicion of a machete attack before being released without charge. A spokesperson for ITV shared the news, writing in a statement that Ashman would not be taking part in the 12th season of the show. 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned,' the statement read. Kyle has also responded to the news himself. He said: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' According to reports in The Sun, the incident took place in February when 'masked thugs stormed a wake in Stafford and hacked at a dad' who 'nearly lost his arm.' Additionally, someone else was glassed, one struck with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car. Ashman was one of two suspects questioned about the incident. 'This was a horrific attack which could have been even worse,' a source told The Sun. 'Ashman may have signed up to one of the biggest shows on TV with this hanging over his head.' According to insiders, ITV were unaware of the incident until the publication raised it, and it was not flagged as part of the contestant checks. Now, the decision has been made to part ways with Ashman. Other confirmed contestants for series 12 of Love island include former fire breather Sophie Lee and personal trainer Aaron Buckett.

Police investigate heart surgery patient deaths at East Yorkshire hospital
Police have launched an investigation into the deaths of heart surgery patients at an East Yorkshire hospital. The investigation is focusing on transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures carried out on elderly and frail patients at Castle Hill hospital, near Hull. There have been no arrests in connection with the investigation, which Humberside police said was in its 'very early stages'. A BBC investigation found concerns had been raised about the deaths of 11 patients after the procedure to replace a damaged valve in the heart. It is a surgery used in people with heart disease who are not well enough for major heart surgery, as the heart does not need to be stopped, unlike in bypass surgery. However it does still carry serious risk as it involves surgeons inserting an instrument with a balloon into a leg or chest artery, which is moved into position near the opening of the aortic valve. Space for new tissue is then created by inflating the balloon, which supports the heart valve. The Humber Health Care Partnership, which runs Castle Hill through Hull university teaching hospitals NHS trust (HUTH), told the BBC that three separate reviews conducted after concerns were raised found deaths after this type of surgery at the hospital were in line with the national average. It said families who had lost loved ones were invited to ask questions and that the trust was 'happy to answer those directly'. The spokesperson said: 'Three separate external reviews of our TAVI service have been undertaken and shown that mortality rates associated with TAVI are similar to national mortality rates over a four-year period. 'The Royal College of Physicians was invited to review the service in 2021, at the request of the trust's chief medical officer. 'The Royal College report concluded that the TAVI service is essential for the Humber and North Yorkshire region and needs to be expanded. 'It stated however that the design of the service should be reviewed and invested in. The report offered a number of actions for improvement and we have delivered against all of those since it was shared with us.' A Humberside police spokesperson said: 'An investigation is in the very early stages in relation to deaths following surgery at Castle Hill hospital. Inquiries are being carried out and at this time, we can confirm no arrests have been made.'
