Mum's chilling words before allegedly killing her daughter in Bundaberg, Queeensland
A mother of three accused of murdering her three-year-old daughter had previously posted a series of messages about relgion, saying 'god is calling his army out of hiding'.
Emergency services rushed to Moore Park Beach, on the outskirts of Bundaberg, central Queensland, at 4.45pm on Monday following 'multiple' reports from concerned neighbours.
The three year old girl was found unresponsive with 'multiple wounds' at the Regency Road home and declared dead at the scene, police said.
A bladed weapon was also allegedly found at the location, said Acting Superintendent Brad Inskip.
Police arrested 32-year-old Lauren Ingrid Flanigan and on Tuesday charged her with murdering her daughter Sophia.
Two other children, aged one and two, were also home at the time but unharmed. They are now in the care of others.
A man who lived at the residence had been working away from the home when the incident unfolded. He returned home after being notified by police of the tragedy.
A man's screams of horror were heard across the normally quiet beachside suburb, as more than 30 neighbours watched on, many of them in tears.
A clearly distressed man was seen on his hands and knees in despair as other shocked neighbours comforted each other.
It's understood Flanigan was a member of the Alive Church in Bundaberg and would often share posts about her faith to her social media accounts.
'Faith. Family. Future. Fitness. Built for wealth. Wired for freedom. Digital Systems. Elite Strategy. No Excuses,' her account profile reads.
In many of her posts, Flanigan wrote about 'rising up' and remembering 'who you are' as she battled against 'the system'.
'You are a WARRIOR OF LIGHT. Train like it's war — because it is. God is calling His army out of hiding. This is kingdom rising,' Flanigan's most recent post read.
'We move. We build. We burn with holy fire. No more delays. No more compromise. Tag your generals. It's time to RISE.'
In September last year, Flanigan shared pictures of Sophia in a pink princess dress to Instagram with the caption 'my divine babies'.
In another post, the mother-of-two explained her life would be fulfilled by sharing time with her family and not by having a successful career.
'I realised the most valuable thing I could create was time,' Flanigan wrote.
'Time to watch my babies grow. Time to breathe. Time to live. Time to love. We weren't created to just work, pay bills, and survive the week.
'We were made to create memories together, lasting legacy, joy, freedom and smiles.
'I have given my life to serve. I have a beautiful little family who remind me of love daily. A community that uplifts me, a church that grounds me.
'Yes, there are challenges. Yes, there are areas that still need refining. But I wake up every day with breath in my lungs and fire in my spirit.'
In 2021, Flanigan shared pictures of her growing baby bump while pregnant with daughter Sophia.
Flanigan was not required to appear in person at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Her legal representative made no application for bail and the case was adjourned to the Bundaberg court until July 21.
Police are preparing a brief of evidence which will be presented to the court at a later date.
Acting Supt Inskip told reporters on Tuesday that police responded to multiple Triple-0 calls from concerned neighbours on Monday evening.
He explained police and paramedic tried desperately to administer first aid but the little girl died at the scene after suffering 'multiple' wounds to her body.
'It was a horrific scene,' Acting Supt Inskip said.
'It's a terrible, terrible incident for everybody including the witnesses and neighbours, the emergency services, police and ambulance who attended and the investigators who are doing the ongoing investigation.
'This is not something we ever want to attend and want our people to have to deal with.'
Acting Supt Inskip declined to confirm if the family was known to police or childrens' services, adding that line of inquiry would form part of the investigation.
He said Flanigan's mental health history would also be looked into.
He confirmed Sophia was Flanigan's eldest child, while another two children - aged one and two - were inside the home when the incident unfolded.
It is unclear whether the two children witnessed the attack.
Acting Supt Inskip added the man who lived at the residence - but was away at work when the incident occurred - had now returned and was with the two children.
'He is back in town and he is with the children at the moment. No doubt absolutely devastated,' he said.

The unexpected $5.50 item that's flying off shelves at Coles: 'I can't find it anywhere it's like liquid gold'
A new supermarket item has hit shelves at Coles - and Aussie shoppers are already scrambling to get their hands on it. Cocobella, the cult-favourite brand known for its refreshing coconut water and sell-out chocolate blend, has just launched a new Coffee Latte flavour - with fans calling it the ultimate iced pick-me-up. Shoppers have described the chilled, dairy-free drink as 'like a barista-made coconut latte in a bottle' - and some are so hooked, they're clearing out shelves across the country. 'I can't find it anywhere - it's like liquid gold,' one shopper revealed on social media. An anonymous shopper told FEMAIL: 'I was so excited when I spotted the new Cocobella Coffee Latte. 'I'm obsessed with the brand's coconut and chocolate flavours, so I was keen to give this one a try. It was nice and very coconutty - but it's never going to beat chocolate.' Hundreds of shoppers have expressed their excitement over the new flavour, including Lex Dyer who filmed her taste test and declared the drink 'a 10 out of 10'. 'I can't even have a conversation in the morning without my coffee - and oh my god, this is fabulous,' she said. Others have been quick to weigh in online. 'I didn't expect to like it this much. It's smooth, not too sweet, and actually really refreshing,' one shopper said. 'The chocolate is unreal, I'm actually excited to try the coffee. It sounds weird but Cocobella rarely misses,' another wrote. A Perth-based student wrote: 'It's giving me beachy café vibes but in a bottle. The coconut twist makes it feel summery - even in winter.' Another fan said: 'It's actually good. Wish you could get coconut take-away coffee… imagine a coconut flat white?!' Not everyone has been converted, though. 'It's not bad but I still love the chocolate better,' one said. 'The coffee one's nice, but the choc is elite.' The new drink blends Cocobella's signature coconut water with a smooth coffee extract to create a plant-based, dairy-free iced coffee that's both hydrating and energising. Each bottle is available in the refrigerated or drink section of Coles supermarkets nationally, and retails for $5.50. More Australians are turning to dairy-free options as they seek out gentler alternatives for digestion, reduce their intake of animal products, or follow plant-based diets. Coconut-based drinks like Cocobella offer a creamy, satisfying texture without the lactose, making them a popular choice for those with intolerances or looking to cut down on dairy. Plus, with fewer calories and no added sugar, they tick the box for health-conscious shoppers chasing both flavour and function. Whether you're a die-hard Cocobella loyalist or just looking for a new way to wake up, this coffee-coconut combo might just be your new favourite fridge find - if you can get your hands on it.

Killer husband who murdered pregnant wife sentenced to 3 more years after asking son to dig up body
A KILLER who plotted to cover up his wife's murder by asking their son to dig up her body got three more years in jail yesterday. Cheating Andrew Griggs killed pregnant Debbie, 34, in May 1999 and hid her body in a sealed water butt under their garden shed for 23 years. 2 He was convicted of her murder in 2019 despite the absence of a body. But he later tried to enlist the help of 25-year-old son Jake to unearth her remains in an attempt to clear his name. During a prison visit he told Jake he had found the body in their garden in Bournemouth and suggested Griggs' late father might have killed her. He tried to persuade Jake to cut off a lock of her hair, then travel to France to post it back to UK authorities with a note purporting to be from her claiming that she was alive and wanted to be left alone. Jake, who always believed in his father's innocence, told his girlfriend about the request and she persuaded him to tell police. It led to Debbie's body being found in October 2022. Experts believe she was either strangled or suffocated. At Canterbury crown court yesterday, Griggs, now 68, was jailed for a further three years after he admitted perverting the course of justice. It is on top of his 20-year minimum tariff for Debbie's murder. Chilling audio of call from 1999 in which Andrew Griggs reported his wife Debbie missing, who we now know he'd murdered 2
