Police investigate two fatal incidents in WA's Pilbara region

Major Crash investigators are probing two deadly incidents in WA 's Pilbara region.
The first occurred on Thursday, when a Toyota HiLux ute and a road train collided on the Great Northern Highway, about 80km northwest of Newman, just after 4.30pm.
The Toyota driver, a 30-year-old man, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
The 48-year-old truck driver was not injured in the crash, which closed a long stretch of the remote highway for several hours.
At around 12.20am on Friday, a pedestrian was struck by a car on Throssell Road in South Hedland, in northwestern WA.
The 45-year-old man was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, where he later died.
Major Crash investigators have appealed for information regarding both fatal incidents.

Police investigating Coral Bay crash that left passenger seriously injured

A woman has been badly hurt in a car crash near a popular WA holiday destination. WA Police said that a white Mitsubishi Challenger station sedan was travelling on Coral Bay Road in Lyndon towards Minilya-Exmouth Road when it veered off the road and rolled about 4pm on Saturday. Emergency services rushed to the scene, taking the driver and a passenger to Coral Bay Nursing Post. The 25-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital. The 23-year-old male driver was not hurt. Major crash investigators are examining the scene and are appealing for any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online here .
