Kohl's permanently closing Monroe distribution center
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A retail distribution facility in the Miami Valley is shutting down in September.
The Kohl's Electronic Fulfillment Center, located in the 3500 block of Salzman Road in Monroe, is ending operations in September, according to the company.
'In recent years, Kohl's has increased efficiencies with new technology capabilities at newer E-commerce Fulfillment Centers (EFCs) and expanded our ability to fulfill customer orders from store locations – allowing us to maintain our ability to fulfill orders without the Monroe facility,' said Kohls.
The retail giant confirmed to WDTN.com that all employees at the facility have been notified of the announcement.
Employees will reportedly have the decision to either take a severance package or apply for another role within the company.
