But Tyrese Haliburton and his teammates made it a point to step up to the occasion and gave themselves one last fighting chance by securing a 108-91 win in Game 6. NBA Finals: Rs 10 lakh for single courtside seat for game 7 between Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers

NBA Finals: Oklahoma City Thunder will host Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals in a few hours and ticket prices to watch the season finale at Oklahoma City's Paycom Arena are through the roof! According to an article on Sports Illustrated, courtside seating for the Oklahoma City versus Indiana game is selling roughly for $12,000 (approximately Rs 10.3 lakh). '(For) A lower-level club seat or courtside seating, the price of entry gets as high as that of a car, more or less,' the article noted. A package of two tickets was selling for $24,300, which includes access to a complimentary buffet and free non-alcoholic beverages. The cheapest tickets for the game, high up in the 'nosebleed' seats are selling for $1,215 (roughly Rs one lakh). The report noted that fans looking to buy two to four seats in the 200s/club level could have to fork out anywhere from $2,700 (Rs 2.3 lakh approx) to $6,075 (Rs 5.2 lakh approx) per ticket. At least one pairing rose to $16,000 (Rs 13 lakh approx), while a spot in the 100-level ranges from $3,500ish to at least $10,000. The NBA Finals don't go down to game 7 very often. In fact, this will only be the 20th Game 7 in NBA Finals history. Western Conference Champions Oklahoma City Thunder will have the upper hand in the final, since history states that from the previous 19 Game 7 battles in the NBA Finals, 15 were won by the home team. Indiana Pacers are chasing their first NBA title today. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Thunder do have a title from 1979, but the team was known as the Seattle SuperSonics. In 2008, the team relocated to Oklahoma City and came to be known as the Oklahoma City Thunder. What is also unique is that today's winner will become the seventh different champion in the last seven seasons. Los Angeles Lakers won the title in the pandemic 'bubble' in 2020; Milwaukee Bucks won in 2021; Golden State Warriors triumphed in 2022, Denver Nuggets prevailed in 2023 while Boston Celtics won last year's title. As the Associated Press noted, whoever NBA Commissioner Adam Silver hands over the Larry O'Brien Trophy to today, will become the ninth franchise to win a title in Silver's 12 seasons leading the league. In comparison, Silver's predecessor in the NBA chief's role, David Stern, saw just eight different franchises win championships in his 30 seasons as commissioner.

Kevin Durant trade: Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets both win; Spurs, Miami lose

Kevin Durant was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets for eight players in a blockbuster deal, according to multiple reports on Sunday. Star guard Jalen Green and swingman Dillon Brooks, as well as the 10th pick in Wednesday's NBA Draft and five future second-round picks, have been moved to the Suns. Kevin Durant has been traded to the Houston Rockets(AP) Durant will now join hands with a young Houston squad guided by coach Ime Udoka that finished 52-30, second in the Western Conference behind overall NBA leader Oklahoma City. Phoenix Suns: The Suns gained much-needed flexibility by offloading Durant's contract. With three first-round picks, including the 2025 No. 10, and eight future second-rounders, owner Mat Ishbia can retool a roster that underperformed in recent playoffs. Jalen Green could replace Devin Booker if the latter goes ahead with a trade. Trading Durant, despite his elite production (27.1 PPG in 2024-25), allows a fresh start after years of postseason struggles. Durant's scoring prowess (two-time Finals MVP) complements Alperen Sengun's playmaking, creating a potent duo. Young talents like Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Jr. will benefit from Durant's veteran presence in high-stakes games. Houston's physical, defense-first style, already a top-10 unit, could dominate the West with Durant's clutch scoring, positioning them for a deep playoff run. Losers Miami Heat: Miami aggressively pursued Durant to fill the void left by Jimmy Butler's trade to Golden State. Pat Riley's failure to land Durant leaves the Heat without a superstar to anchor their roster, forcing a pivot to either lesser trade targets or a rebuilding year to clear cap space for 2026. San Antonio Spurs (Victor Wembanyama): The Spurs aimed to pair Durant with Victor Wembanyama, envisioning a mentorship akin to Chris Paul's role in 2024-25. Durant's size, scoring, and versatility would have been a perfect model for Wembanyama's development.

Rockets acquire 15-time all-star Kevin Durant; Suns receive Green, Brooks

Kevin Durant is heading back to Texas. The Phoenix Suns have agreed to trade the 36-year-old star forward to the Houston Rockets , according to ESPN. In return, the Suns will receive guard Jalen Green , forward Dillon Brooks , the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and five second-round picks. The Kevin Durant trade , which is likely to be finalized by July 6, when the new league year begins, is due to salary cap rules involving Green's upcoming contract. The exact timing of the NBA trade remains uncertain; however, discussions about it have been ongoing for several months and have intensified since the end of the Suns' season. Additionally, the Rockets appear to have been a frontrunner in these conversations for quite some time. A 15-time NBA All-Star , Durant was part of a star trio in Phoenix with Bradley Beal and Devin Booker. However, this group did not win a playoff game in two seasons together and completely missed the 2025 postseason. Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists last season, shooting 52.7% from the field and 43.0% from the three-point range. Despite being past his prime, the 15-time All-Star and 2014 NBA MVP remains among the league's most effective scorers. Live Events This will be Durant's fifth NBA team, following stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, and Suns. He won two championships and two NBA Finals MVP awards with the Warriors. The Suns underperformed last season, finishing 36-46 despite having the NBA's highest payroll. Meanwhile, the Rockets had a breakout year, finishing second in the Western Conference before losing to the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. Led by coach Ime Udoka and rising talents like Amen Thompson and All-Star center Alperen Sengun, the Rockets are seen as an up-and-coming team in the West. ESPN reports that Houston, along with Miami and San Antonio, was one of Durant's preferred destinations. Durant, who played college basketball at Texas, is set to earn $54.7 million next season. He is also eligible for a two-year extension worth up to $122 million once the new league year begins.
