Dubai Police Launches 2025 Summer Programme Welcoming Over 1,300 Students
Dubai Police has launched its 2025 summer programme under the theme 'Our Summer is Safety, Happiness, Innovation, and Leadership,' bringing together 1,332 students aged 11 to 18 from 35 countries.
Organised by the International Hemaya Centre of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, the initiative is being held in partnership with the Ministry of Education, KHDA, and various public and private sector entities. The programme aims to develop youth leadership and awareness through structured training, field visits, and educational activities.
Major General Eid Mohammad bin Thani Harib, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, said the initiative reflects Dubai Police's commitment to shaping responsible, informed youth who are equipped to tackle challenges and avoid legal risks. He emphasised the importance of national identity, discipline, and institutional collaboration in character building.
Brigadier Abdul Rahman Sharf Al Maamari, Director of the International Hemaya Centre, confirmed the programme will run across 16 training centers. It will offer five main categories: general training, specialised programmes, awareness lectures, partner-led sessions, and field visits.
Participants will engage in activities such as military and sports training, future leadership programmes, and specialised courses including martial arts, SWAT training, and investigative skills. Lectures will cover pressing topics like drug abuse, cybercrime, and traffic safety, while field visits include the Dubai Police Museum, forensic units, and the K9 centre.
The programme continues to grow each year, thanks to the efforts of over 40 strategic partners contributing to its long-term impact and sustainability.

Scammers in the UAE are employing new tactics to lure unsuspecting victims out of their money, authorities warned. While residents have been often warned to avoid clicking on fraudulent links, different methods which play on people's emotions and sympathy are also used to deceive. In the video, a man finds a huge sum of money transferred to his account, and then gets a scam call telling him that the money was sent to him "accidentally". Responding to the claim of money supposedly "needed for treatment", the victim hurriedly transfers the money to a strange account, unaware he is being duped. Two days later, the man receives a message from the bank, stating his account has been flagged due to a violation of policy. It is essential to take action if you receive money from someone you do not know, by immediately reporting it to the relevant authorities through the number 901.

Dubai Customs and Dubai Police: A strategic partnership to protect the homeland and to promote stability

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Busenad welcomed His Excellency Major General Hareb Al Shamsi and his accompanying delegation, which included Major General Ahmed Thani bin Ghalaita Al Muhairi, Director of the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, Major General Eid Mohammed Thani Hareb, Director of General Department of Anti-Narcotics, Brigadier Khalid Bin Muwaiza, Deputy Director of General Department of Anti-Narcotic. We appreciate the great efforts made by the Customs teams at the borders and ports, and His Excellency praised the efficiency of the security and control system'. The two sides reviewed the efforts of integrated institutional work and updating security databases to combat the smuggling of hazardous materials and reviewed the latest scientific techniques and the use of artificial intelligence in analyzing the behavior of smugglers. During the meeting, which was attended by executive directors and Department heads at Dubai Customs and the delegation accompanying His Excellency the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the joint report on the latest narcotic substances was presented and the most prominent statistics on seizures were reviewed during the recent period. The two parties emphasized the importance of unifying efforts between relevant security Departments, enhancing the exchange of technical expertise, and discussing future plans for continued cooperation between Dubai Customs and Dubai Police.
