Add former college coach Carolyn Peck, now a ESPN analyst, to the TCU women's basketball bandwagon.
On Sunday night during ESPN's Women's Bracketology show, she said that the Horned Frogs have opportunity of the No. 2 tournament seeds to advance to the Final Four in Tampa, Fla., in early April.
'I think TCU and I think so because of the diversity of their ability to score the basketball,' Peck said. 'They have Sedona Prince inside who is a matchup nightmare because she doesn't stay inside. She can step outside and she can shoot it. And ever since they moved Donovan Hunter into the starting lineup, that's been an extra punch power and especially on the defensive end.'
'And can we talk about Madison Conner? Madison Conner has made a 118 three-point three this season. So they have a big three to work with. And I haven't even talked about Hailey Van Lith.'
Prince, Conner and Van Lith were all Big 12 all-conference players. Lith was the conference's regular-season Player of the Year and the conference tournament's most outstanding player.
TCU opens the NCAA tournament on Friday at home against 15th-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson. If the Horned Frogs win, they will face either Nebraska or Louisville on Sunday.

Doral Academy's Viruet, Somerset's Rebhan are Miami-Dade Softball Coaches of the Year
Doral Academy's Willie Viruet and Somerset Silver Palms' Gator Rebhan direct what have been the two most successful softball programs in Miami-Dade County in recent years. But a state championship eluded both programs over the past three seasons. In Rebhan's case, the Stallions had never hoisted a state championship trophy. In Viruet's case, the Firebirds had in 2021, but had come heartbreakingly short more than once of recapturing that feeling again. It all changed this season as both Doral Academy and Somerset Silver Palms overcame that final roadblock and were each state champions. And so, Viruet and Rebhan are once again, the Miami Herald's Miami-Dade County Softball Coaches of the Year. Viruet is the winner for Class 7A-4A after leading Doral to its second state title in school history. The Firebirds have been regulars at the state final four under his watch, advancing to at least the state semifinals every season since 2019 - the longest active streak for any Dade team. This season, Doral took things up a notch, however. The Firebirds finished the season 31-1, ranked No. 3 in the nation and higher than any other Florida team. Doral capped the season with a dramatic 5-4 comeback win in eight innings over Valrico Bloomingdale in the Class 6A state semifinals before beating Pace 1-0 in the final. Miami Herald 7A-4A Pitcher of the Year Meagan Villazon, an FIU signee, was the main reason for the team's success in the pitching circle. Junior shortstop Anabela Abdullah, a Texas commit and the Herald's 7A-4A Player of the Year, and senior third baseman Sarah Breaux, the Herald's Player of the Year in 2024 and a Clemson signee, drove the Firebirds' offense. For Somerset Silver Palms, the state championship was a brand new feeling. And it was something Rebhan hadn't experienced for over two decades since leading Miami Palmetto to a pair of state titles in 2000 and 2003. Rebhan left high school coaching for a few years while coaching at the collegiate level at FIU and later solely travel ball. But he returned to the high school scene and began building Silver Palms into a state powerhouse in 2021. After two consecutive years reaching state, the Stallions finally secured that elusive first title with convincing wins over Dunedin and Eustis. Rebhan's daughter Taylor Rebhan, a junior shortstop and Louisville commit, and sophomore pitcher Ava Stevens, who are the Miami Herald's 3A-1A Player and Pitcher of the Year respectively, led the Stallions throughout the season.

Nahir Albright says Keyshawn Davis headbutted him after he beat Davis' brother A disappointing weekend for boxer Keyshawn Davis allegedly turned violent Saturday night outside of the ring. Boxer Nahir Albright told reporters that Davis headbutted him and left a large bump over his right eye. He said the incident took place when Davis and his younger brother, Keon, confronted Albright after Albright beat the oldest of the Davis brothers, Kelvin, by majority decision at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The weekend already had soured for Davis, who on Friday weighed in 4.3 pounds more than the maximum for his WBO lightweight world title defense scheduled for Saturday. That led to the cancellation of the bout against Edwin De Los Santos and the WBO title was stripped from him. Then came the alleged incident described by Albright. 'I was in my locker room and celebrated my victory with my team,'' he told reporters in a videotaped interview. '…Keyshawn and his little brother (Keon) came in and they started looking at me and was like, they saying something about his older brother. They was mad and he grabbed me, pushed me back. 'I'm grabbing his head. He moved his head towards my head.'' Then came the headbutt, according to Albright. 'So yeah, that's what happened,'' he said, the incident was not sparked by any exchange of words. '…Their locker room is right next door to mine, so I guess they heard us happy and all that kind of stuff, and they came in and started trouble.'' Of the confrontation, Albright told ESPN, 'Now we've got to settle that'' and said he wants to fight Keyshawn Davis in the ring. Davis beat Albright by unanimous decision in 2023 but the result was turned to a no contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana – a banned substance in Texas, where the fight was held. But late Saturday, the talk centered on controversy outside of the ring. For Davis, instead of being featured in the main event in his hometown of Norfolk, it all went awry. Davis, 26, showed up Saturday at the Scope Arena with his son of less than a year and cheered on his two brothers. Keon, 23, won his fight via a second-round TKO. But Kelvin, 28, got pummeled by Albright, who won the 10-round bout by majority decision. During the altercation, Albright said, his coaches eventually interceded. 'My coaches grabbed (Keyshawn Davis) and then I think security came in and grabbed him,'' Albright said. Later, Albright said, Davis charged after Albright's older brother. 'It just got crazy,'' he added. But Albright said he thinks Kelvin Davis, the brother he beat in the ring Saturday night, was trying to break things up. 'It's a little unfortunate, but nothing could take away the feeling of being a champion tonight,'' he said, referring to the vacant Silver US WBC Jr. Welterweight title he won. On Thursday, Aaron Rodgers put pen to paper on a one-year deal, signing up for a farewell tour of the AFC North. Rodgers had long been a match for the Steelers since the crop of quarterbacks flew off the board. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are starting in East Rutherford, Geno Smith was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, and Sam Darnold found a new home with the Seattle Seahawks. 'The long-awaited quarterback signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal after passing a physical at the team facility Saturday morning, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter,' Brooke Pryor wrote. 'The deal includes $10 million guaranteed and can be worth up to $19.5 million with incentives.' That's awfully similar to what Wilson will make with the New York Giants. Still, he projects to be an easy upgrade over Mason Rudolph and rookie Will Howard, who inhabited the room before his signing. Rodgers makes the Steelers more credible, even if he doesn't move the needle on their championship odds.
