Singapore Airlines to reintroduce Premium Economy on Dubai flights
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced the return of its First Class and Premium Economy Class experience on flights between Singapore and Dubai from March 30.
Operating seven times weekly, the flights will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, which features a four-class cabin configuration – First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.
PREMIUM ECONOMY CLASS
The SIA Premium Economy Class offers customers a contemporary and stylish travel experience, designed to provide heightened comfort throughout their journey. Each Premium Economy seat boasts a width ranging from 18.5 to 19.5 inches, an 8-inch recline, and a seat pitch of 38 inches. Customers can look forward to an enhanced in-flight entertainment experience with active noise-cancelling headphones and a sleek 13.3-inch full HD touchscreen monitor.
Premium Economy Class customers enjoy priority check-in at dedicated counters, as well as priority boarding. Checked baggage have priority tags, ensuring smooth and efficient travel.
Customers can also enjoy a dining experience with an improved and expanded selection of food and beverage options. They have the option to pre-select and reserve their main course from the Premium Economy Class Book the Cook2 menu up to 24 hours before flight departure.
First Class customers can indulge in the ultimate comfort with ergonomically sculpted headrests and plush seat back cushions designed to cradle your body. Each First Class seat is made with luxurious leather even to the footrest, and diamond-stitched so you can sit comfortably in any position, SIA said.

The skies above the GCC are buzzing with increased activity as major international carriers, in partnership with regional powerhouses, expand their long-haul networks, opening vital new international links this June. This expansion is set to significantly bolster the UAE and wider GCC region's position as a global aviation hub. According to an Aviation Week report, at least 50 new routes are being launched by UAE, regional and international airlines this month, ahead of the ultra-busy summer travel period. This allows UAE travellers to explore new destinations over the summer. UAE carriers are launching multiple flights this month. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has launched three weekly flights to Almaty on the A320. Dubai's flagship carrier, Emirates, has begun flying to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport four times a week on the Boeing 777-300ER. Etihad Airways has launched operations at Warsaw Chopin airport (four times a week), starting June 3. Dubai's second main airline, flydubai, launched daily flights to Antalya on June 5. And finally, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has launched thrice weekly flights (on an A321) from June 4 onwards. A key highlight for the Gulf is Virgin Australia's inaugural flights to Doha, Qatar, marking a strategic expansion of its international footprint. This move comes as part of its strengthened partnership with Qatar Airways, which acquired a 25 per cent stake in the Australian carrier last September. Starting June 12, Virgin Australia will offer daily service from Sydney to Doha, followed by flights from Brisbane on June 19 and Perth on June 26. These routes will utilize Boeing 777-300ERs wet-leased from Qatar Airways, further cementing the collaborative ties between the two airlines and enhancing travel options for passengers connecting through the Middle East. Saudia is launching twice weekly flights from Jeddah to Venice Marco Polo in the region starting June 13. Royal Air Maroc is launching thrice-weekly Casablanca to London Stansted flights beginning June 24. Kuwait's Jazeera will fly to Sochi starting June 26. Gulf Air has begun operating five weekly flights from Bahrain to Nairobi. Budget carrier flyadeal will operate flights from Riyadh to Salalah beginning June 19. Furthermore, direct links to the Indian subcontinent from the GCC's extended network are growing. Ethiopian Airlines is expanding to Hyderabad, India, with three weekly flights from Addis Ababa starting June 16, facilitating connections for passengers travelling to and from the Gulf. Royal Jordanian is also returning to India by launching a four-times-weekly service to Mumbai from Amman, beginning June 19, further enhancing regional connectivity to one of the world's fastest-growing economies. Beyond the Gulf, June also sees significant network expansions by other major carriers. United Airlines is making history with its first-ever nonstop service to Nuuk, Greenland, operating a twice-weekly flight from Newark Liberty International Airport starting June 5. Delta Air Lines is also re-entering the transpacific market from Salt Lake City with daily nonstop service to Seoul Incheon from June 12, adding five routes to the South Korean capital. Taiwan's Starlux Airlines is expanding its U.S. presence with a new 4X-weekly route to Ontario International Airport in Southern California, catering to the large Taiwanese population in the greater Los Angeles area. These new routes underscore the dynamic growth in the aviation sector and the increasing importance of the UAE and GCC as crucial connecting points for global travel and trade.

Lummus, InnoVent sign tyre pyrolysis technology deal
Lummus Technology, a global provider of process technologies and value-driven energy solutions, and InnoVent Renewables have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work toward licensing and deploying InnoVent's continuous tyre pyrolysis technology globally. 'This is another significant step in expanding and strengthening our portfolio for the circular economy,' said Leon de Bruyn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lummus Technology. 'By combining InnoVent's tyre recycling technology with Lummus' global licensing and engineering expertise, we will be addressing the global challenge of waste tires and creating new pathways for sustainable product development.' Under an agreement outlined in the MoU, once finally negotiated, Lummus would serve as the exclusive licensor for InnoVent's proprietary continuous tire pyrolysis technology, which converts end-of-life tyres into valuable products such as pyrolysis oil, gas, recycled carbon black and steel. Lummus would also act as the licensor for comprehensive technology packages that combine InnoVent's tire pyrolysis process with Lummus' downstream technologies to increase the value of fuel and chemical outputs. 'Partnering with Lummus has the potential to accelerate the global deployment of our technology and help us address the environmental and public health challenges of 1 billion end-of-life tires that are disposed of annually,' said Vibhu Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, InnoVent Renewables. 'Together, we can transform waste into valuable resources, reduce carbon emissions and support the transition to a more sustainable future.'

Bahrain Becomes First Emirates Route Served
Bahrain has become the first destination in the Emirates network to be exclusively served by the state-of-the-art Airbus A350, following the arrival of the airline's third A350 at Bahrain International Airport on 2 June. The milestone was marked by the deployment of Emirates' third daily A350 flight (EK835), which departed Dubai at 0200 hrs and landed in Bahrain at 0215 hrs. The return flight, EK836, departed Bahrain at 0340 hrs and arrived in Dubai at 0605 hrs. The strategic move aligns with Emirates' 'Fly Better' initiative, aimed at enhancing passenger experience and modernising its fleet. The Airbus A350 offers next-generation features, including 32 Business Class lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 layout, and 259 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Passengers can enjoy faster Wi-Fi, Emirates' award-winning ice entertainment system, quieter cabins, higher ceilings, and advanced cabin lighting – all designed to maximise comfort and reduce travel fatigue. Emirates' decision to deploy the A350 exclusively to Bahrain underscores its commitment to the Kingdom and highlights the strengthening ties between the two countries. The A350 currently operates on several short and medium-haul routes, including Amman, Kuwait, Edinburgh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Colombo, and Tunis.
