Tesla CEO Elon Musk challenges NYT and WSJ to take Drug tests and ...

Time of India6 hours ago

Tesla CEO and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk has shared a tweet, publicly challenging the New York Times and Wall Street Journal to 'take drug tests and publish the results'. The tech billionaire's comments come as a response to recent reports alleging his excess Ketamine usage during Trump's campaign last year. Earlier in the day, Musk shared urine drug test results on X, showing he tested 'negative' for drugs. He shared the results online writing 'lol' (laughing out loud). A user commented on the post saying 'Would love to see NYTimes staff take the same test'.
The reply caught Musk's attention who responded saying, 'Great idea. I hereby challenge the NYT and WSJ to take drug tests and publish the results!', further adding 'They won't, because those hypocrites are guilty as sin.'

An NYT report recently said that Musk travels with a daily pill box containing around 20 different medications with his 'drug consumption went well beyond occasional use.' Quoting people familiar with the matter, the report stated that some of these pills include powerful stimulants and psychedelic substances, with some of them marked as Adderall, a commonly prescribed stimulant for ADHD.
Similarly, a report by The Wall Street Journal last year said that the Space X CEO has a history of recreational drug use. The Times has also claimed that Musk had actually developed a far more serious habit.
Elon hits back at alleged drug use reports
In another post on X he shared today - June 17, Musk wrote 'The sheer audacity of the WSJ/NYT lies is astonishing! WSJ claimed that I was being fired from Tesla and failed to include that the board flatly denied it!'
He previously said 'I am NOT taking drugs! NYT was lying their ass off.' Admitting to past ketamine use 'for dark mental holes,' Musk recently said he has been clean since.

How Tesla car prevented high school student from passing driving test

A New Jersey teenager failed his driver's test not for his driving, but due to the vehicle he used, a Tesla Model Y , a report claims. The examiner failed the teenager, alleging that his car's advanced features provided an unfair advantage during high school junior Lochlan Keefer's recent road test in Cherry Hill. On the testing slip, the state examiner noted (as seen by "Had the parking and stopping assistance on, never stepped on the brake to stop his self, let the vehicle stop itself." The examiner claimed the car's regenerative braking and alleged driver-assistance systems gave the student an unfair edge. What the teenager's father said about his son failing the driving test James Keefer, the student's father, attempted to explain to the instructor that these advanced Model Y features were not being utilised. The father said: 'The examiner accused my son of using driver assistance features simply because he parallel parked smoothly on the first try." "He was specifically accused of using paid parking-assist and driving features, which we do not subscribe to,' Keefer added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villa For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search ads Learn More Undo The vehicle does have regenerative braking, a feature Keefer's son offered to disable multiple times but was told it was unnecessary by the instructor. However, after the test, "despite no safety issues and no actual driving faults, the examiner claimed driver assistance was active and retroactively said it should have been off,' Keefer added. The student driver was instructed to wait 14 days before retaking the test, this time without the braking system active. A supervisor supported the instructor's decision to fail the student. The father claimed he was not shown any policy that had been violated and described the supervisor's demeanour as "belligerent and unprofessional." However, later on, his son took the test in a different part of New Jersey named Delanco and passed without disabling the regenerative braking. "The examiner at Delanco was fully aware of the regenerative braking feature and had no issues conducting the test under these conditions, further illustrating the inconsistency in interpretation or enforcement of non-existent MVC policies regarding regenerative braking," his father noted. Elon Musk's X takes New York to court, calls hate speech law unconstitutional

Elon Musk's X Corp sued New York on Tuesday, challenging the constitutionality of a state law requiring social media companies to disclose how they monitor hate speech, extremism, disinformation, harassment and foreign political interference.X said the law known as the Stop Hiding Hate Act violated the First Amendment and state constitution by subjecting it to lawsuits and heavy fines unless it disclosed "highly sensitive and controversial speech" that New York may find what content is acceptable on social media platforms "engenders considerable debate among reasonable people about where to draw the correct proverbial line," X said. "This is not a role that the government may play." The complaint filed in Manhattan federal court also quoted a letter from two legislators who sponsored the law, which said X and Musk in particular had a "disturbing record" on content moderation "that threatens the foundations of our democracy."New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat who enforces the state's laws, is the named defendant in X's lawsuit.
