Real Betis XI vs Chelsea: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Conference League final today
Real Betis look set to have Giovani Lo Celso fit for their Conference League final showdown with Chelsea tonight.
The former Tottenham attacking midfielder has featured regularly for Manuel Pellegrini's side since returning to the Estadio Benito Villamarin in a last-gasp cut-price deal last summer, but missed out on the 1-1 home draw with Valencia on Friday evening as Betis finished the 2024/25 LaLiga season in sixth place.
Lo Celso had initially been considered a doubt to face Chelsea in Wroclaw on Wednesday night, but was seen training normally in an open session held at the stadium on Tuesday afternoon, alongside the likes of Johnny Cardoso, Ricardo Rodriguez and Fran Vieites.
Senegal right-back Youssouf Sabaly is also expected to be fit, though Betis remain without former Arsenal stalwart Hector Bellerin, as well as Diego Llorente, Marc Roca and Chimy Avila.
Pellegrini has to decide whether to go with Vieites or Adrian in goal on Wednesday, with the former having started in the Conference League since Rui Silva joined Sporting Lisbon in January but ex-West Ham and Liverpool man Adrian typically getting the nod in LaLiga.
Sabaly should continue to deputise for Bellerin at right-back, with Marc Bartra and Napoli loanee Natan the likely central defensive pairing and Rodriguez on the left.
Tottenham transfer target Cardoso will be in the engine room, with Pellegrini seeking to strike the right balance with plenty of attacking options including another ex-West Ham player in Pablo Fornals, plus impactful Manchester United loanee Antony and former Real Madrid star Isco.
Sergi Altimira is another potential option in midfield, while Cedric Bakambu should lead the line. Abde Ezzalzouli could retain his place if Lo Celso is not ready to start.
Predicted Real Betis XI: Adrian, Sabaly, Bartra, Natan, Rodriguez, Johnny, Fornals, Antony, Isco, Lo Celso, Bakambu
Injured: Bellerin, Llorente, Roca, Avila
Doubt: Lo Celso
Venue: Stadion Miejski, Wroclaw (Poland)

Ex-Ohio State Coach Delivers Verdict on Arch Manning's Reported $6.5 Million NIL Valuation
Ex-Ohio State Coach Delivers Verdict on Arch Manning's Reported $6.5 Million NIL Valuation originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The NIL deals being signed by college athletes continue to climb, and in most cases, it's not about raw talent, but rather about players with high visibility who have built up a brand. Advertisement One such example is Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, who hasn't yet made a significant impact on the field, but with his family's pedigree, everyone already knows his name and expects a lot from this 21-year-old. During a recent episode of the "Bobby Carpenter Show," Anthony Schlegel, who has had two stints with the Ohio State Buckeyes, his alma mater, as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, predicted Manning would have to lead the nation in NIL valuations. "People that were returning that would require the dollar amount, Arch Manning would be that guy," said Carpenter as he was trying to recall the best players in the sport. Schlegel and Carpenter were reviewing a top 10 list of college football players and discussing how Manning was ranked at No. 1 with a $6.5 million valuation. Carpenter, another Ohio State alumnus who played for the Buckeyes from 2002 to 2005, pointed out Manning's NIL total comes from endorsements only, not from Texas' boosters. Texas is projected to have spent somewhere between $35 and $40 million on NIL deals, according to Kirk Bohls of the Houston Chronicle. In his report, Bohls quoted a source that believes these years of big spending won't last, even among the nation's best programs. 'It's just unsustainable,' the source said via Bohls. Barcelona chief ‘already openly talking' about signing of Atlético Madrid star
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already begun openly discussing his plan to bring in a leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid next summer. That's according to Carrusel Deportivo of Cadena SER, who point towards Julián Alvarez as the player in question. Advertisement The name of frontman Alvarez has of course proven an increasingly prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya's capital over recent weeks. This comes amid mounting speculation that Barcelona have earmarked the Argentine as a leading future transfer target. Ahead of the expiration of Robert Lewandowski's contract in the summer of 2026, Deco and co. have already kicked into gear a search for the Pole's long-term replacement. And according to several sources, at the very top of the wishlist at the Camp Nou is the aforementioned Alvarez. So much so that Joan Laporta, it is claimed, has already begun pushing the former Manchester City's name in internal discussions. Advertisement As per a report from Carrusel Deportivo: '(Journalist) Sique Rodríguez says that Laporta is already openly talking about Julián Alvarez for Barça. The idea is to sign him next year when Lewandowski leaves the club.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Liverpool given HUGE boost in bid for £84m striker
Liverpool remain locked in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of Florian Wirtz. The 22-year-old playmaker remains the club's priority in the summer window, with a 'final' bid now reported to have been made to the German side. Once the Wirtz deal is wrapped up, Liverpool will carry on with their other major summer business. There are still additions to be made at left-back and up front and Milos Kerkez will soon arrive to take care of one of those problems. Advertisement And while the Reds are close to wrapping up deals for both Wirtz and Kerkez, it will soon be time to sign an upgrade in the No9 position. It's widely believed that both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are at risk this summer - with neither player truly convincing Arne Slot during the Premier League title-winning campaign. Ekitike linked with Liverpool And so several star names have been linked - from Viktor Gyokeres to Victor Osimhen, and from Alexander Isak to Joao Pedro. Another name which appeared on the radar was that of Hugo Ekitike. Liverpool have had their eye on the Frenchman since his days as a young player at Reims. Now at Eintracht Frankfurt, the 22-year-old was one of the stars of the Bundesliga season and tipped to move on during the transfer window. Advertisement Chelsea had moved into the lead for Ekitike and at one stage it looked as though Liverpool had dropped out of the race altogether. But Ekitike's move to Stamford Bridge has hit a roadblock - according to the latest report in BILD - and that could open the door for the Reds. © IMAGO - Hugo Ekitike Liverpool Chelsea hesitating over Ekitike According to the report, Enzo Maresca's side are 'suddenly hesitating' over Ekitike, and time is running out for them to register the forward before the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. He will need to be registered before June 10 in order to take part but the transfer fee is being reported as an issue. Frankfurt want £84m for their 15-goal forward but according to the report Chelsea are only prepared to go to £67m. Advertisement With Ekitike under contract until 2029, Frankfurt are under no real pressure to sell. And while Chelsea entertain doubts over the move, it could open the door for Liverpool to strike. It's no secret the Merseysiders require improvements up top - and they can capitalise on Chelsea's change of mind in order to land a long-term target. Let's get Wirtz and Kerkez wrapped - then tie up the signing of a new striker.
