The Pakistani Envoy reiterated Pakistan's demand for a "neutral probe" into the Pahalgam attack, whose responsibility was claimed by Islamabad-based Lashkar terror group.
Amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack, a senior Pakistani envoy warned that 'unresolved Kashmir issue" could lead to further fallout.
Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mohammad Faisal, said that India continues to deny Pakistan's support for the aspirations and demands of the Kashmiri people.
'Pakistan firmly stands with the Kashmiri people and their aspirations," he said, warning, 'This issue must be resolved—otherwise, even after Pahalgam, something else can happen."

Faisal further reiterated Pakistan's demand for a 'neutral probe" into the Pahalgam attack, whose responsibility was claimed by Islamabad-based Lashkar terror group.
'We are being blamed for something we have not planned. India must agree to a probe. The truth will be clearly out," the Pakistani Envoy told BBC.
When questioned about US Secretary of State Rubio's conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif—during which Rubio urged him to condemn the Pahalgam attack—Faisal responded that Islamabad has denounced acts of terrorism on multiple platforms, including the United Nations Security Council.
India announced a series of punitive measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. Recently, New Delhi banned all imports from Islamabad.
Further escalating tensions, India and Pakistan have banned each other's aircraft from entering their respective airspaces, affecting commercial and cargo flights.

UK's child sex abuse scandal: PM Keir Starmer orders national inquiry into 'grooming gangs' after report, Musk criticism

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday announced a national inquiry into the UK's decades-long child sex abuse scandal involving grooming gangs, reversing his earlier stance in light of a new report and mounting public pressure, including from US tech billionaire Elon Musk. The decision follows the findings of an independent audit by Louise Casey, who had initially believed a national-level probe was unnecessary but changed her view after reviewing the scale and nature of the abuse. 'She has come to the view that there should be a national inquiry on the basis of what she has seen. I have read every single word of her report and I am going to accept her recommendation,' Starmer told reporters en route to the G7 summit in Canada. The scandal centres on gangs of mostly Pakistani men who targeted and abused thousands of vulnerable white girls, many from disadvantaged backgrounds or in state care. The abuse occurred in towns such as Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford, and Bristol over nearly four decades. Previous investigations found that police and local authorities often failed to act, allegedly due to fears of being labelled racist. The matter gained international traction earlier this year after Musk, owner of the X platform, accused the UK government of failing to adequately address the issue. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Addition Hills: Scholarships You Can Apply For (Start Now) College Scholarship | Google Search Search Now Undo On Saturday, Musk responded to news of the inquiry saying he was 'glad to hear this is happening.' Home Secretary Yvette Cooper had tasked Casey with a 'rapid audit' in January. Sky News reported Saturday that Casey's findings will indicate that vulnerable white British girls were 'institutionally ignored' by authorities. Criticism of the delay came from Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, who accused Starmer of dragging his feet. 'I've been repeatedly calling for a full national inquiry since January,' she said. 'Many survivors of the grooming gangs will be relieved that this is finally happening. But they need a resolution soon, not in 10 years' time.'

Assam rights org urge Shah to sort NRC issue

1 2 Silchar: The Citizens Rights Preservation Committee (CRPC), an Assam-based social organization, appealed to Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday to intervene in the long-pending NRC issue in the state. The committee urged for immediate legal and administrative measures to address the dire situation of nearly 19 lakh people, who have been excluded from the final NRC list published on August 31, 2019. In a memorandum, submitted to the ministry of home affairs, CRPC secretary general Sadhan Purkayastha and secretary Ali Raja Osmani expressed serious concern over what they termed "prolonged administrative inaction." Furthermore, the CRPC raised alarm over recent incidents, where Indian citizens were allegedly branded as Bangladeshi nationals and "pushed back" across the border. The group termed these acts "unconstitutional" and warned that deporting individuals, with pending cases in high courts or Supreme Court could amount to contempt of court. These "push back" allegations have recently been challenged in the Supreme Court, though the apex court has directed petitioners to approach the Gauhati high court. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! "Almost six years later, the Registrar General of India is yet to officially notify the final NRC list and the excluded individuals have not received certified copies of their exclusion — a prerequisite for filing appeals," said Purkayastha. The organization also raised the critical issue of Aadhaar cards being denied to over 27 lakh individuals whose biometric data was withheld during the NRC process. "This has left lakhs without access to basic services and entitlements," Purkayastha added. Recent reports indicate that the Assam government has linked Aadhaar applications to NRC status, further complicating matters for those excluded or who did not apply for NRC. In its memorandum, the CRPC put forth several demands, including immediate distribution of national identity cards to those included in NRC, issuance of Aadhaar cards to individuals who submitted biometric data and a fresh, transparent and just process to review and potentially include the 19 lakh excluded names. Aspirants Take AI Reality Check Before Taking Poll Plunge

Nagpur: Artificial Intelligence (AI) can do a lot many things that can help improve efficiency and productivity on individual or organisational level, but can it predict how an aspirant will fare in an election? That's no longer a question, but something that's already being tried and tested. In fact, AI is the latest trend in poll strategy with aspirants seeking "advice" about their chances of winning, before throwing their hat in the ring. Some poll strategy/survey companies are now offering an AI-driven analytics services to prepare a full report on the chances (in percentage) an aspirant has in a particular ward, based on past poll records, political competition, ground surveys and issues which are connecting with people. An aspirant from North Nagpur, who wanted to check his prospects in the upcoming civic body elections, got such a report from a Mumbai-based company. The aspirant told TOI that it was a cost-effective way to get a reality check. "It's like a marriage kundli-matching report," he laughed while explaining the concept. "For less than Rs 3 lakh I get this report which provides me with a neutral view on what my chances are, regardless of what my supporters say or what I feel. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo This way, I can decide whether or not to spend a lot of money in the entire poll campaign," said the aspirant. This AI generated testing-the-waters report works out best for poll aspirants who are not career politicians, though the data is crucial for every category of aspirant. Successful businessmen and moneybags who are keen to try their luck in politics still keep the 'economic viability' of their new venture in mind. This poll aspirant got TOI in touch with two others who also got the report made, and said "it helps a lot". One of them said, "The report is very detailed and we got it in Marathi only. A team came down here and did the survey and two weeks later I got the report. The chart showed us which issues are important in the ward and which party is the preferred one. Then there was an advice on what issues I will have to focus on for victory. But my report gave a low chance of me winning, so I am thinking whether or not to contest." Through these poll aspirants, TOI got in touch with the company in Mumbai, which prepared the reports. Speaking on behalf of the company, Chaitanya Wadekar said even before internet came, surveys were being done. "What has changed now is how the data is collected and most importantly – due to advent of AI – how that data is analyzed and presented," Wadekar said. Wadekar said, "AI predictive model becomes better as more data pours in. We feed it with our intensive ground intel, combined with old poll results, demographics, issues etc to get a more detailed response. Our digital AI-driven database also identifies local influencers, be it social media stars, activists, lawyers, community leaders, who each can swing a few hundred or even a thousand votes in favour of the candidate. " Poll aspirants also get a dedicated online dashboard, in Marathi too, and at the click of the button they can see a comprehensive interactive report. The third poll aspirant TOI spoke with said, "Everyone enters polls to win, nobody says I am here to lose unless you have an agenda to cut votes. And at the civic body level, candidates have to mostly put up their own funds. So, the more accurate information you can get, the better.
