Andrew Tate, an internet personality and self-described misogynist, faces a trial in Britain next year in four women's civil lawsuits for alleged physical and sexual abuse, after the case was brought forward today. The four claimants, who have been granted anonymity, allege Mr Tate subjected them to physical or sexual violence between 2013 and 2015. Two say they were in an intimate relationship with Mr Tate, while two worked for his online webcam business. The women's lawyers say in court filings that one woman was threatened with a gun as Mr Tate said "you're going to do as I say or there'll be hell to pay", while another alleges Mr Tate strangled her until she was unconscious during sex. Mr Tate, 38, denies the allegations and his lawyers say in hiswritten defence that the claims are false and that all sexual activity was consensual. During a preliminary hearing at London's High Court today, the trial was brought forward to June 2026, having previously been due to start in early 2027. "It's not in anyone's interest that this case goes into the long grass of 2027," judge Christina Lambert said. The claimants' lawyer Anne Studd said that, in addition to the four women, there would be a further six to eight witnesses. The four British claimants welcomed the decision. "We've already spent years waiting for justice, and so it'sof some comfort to hear that Andrew Tate will face theseallegations in a court earlier than the original plan of 2027," they said. The bride was a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl who had arrived in France with her 41-year-old mother two days prior to the mock ceremony. Police were called by a "guest" who later claimed he was hired to play the father of the bride. A statement released by the prosecutor of the tribunal in Meaux Jean-Baptiste Bladier said the man "explained he was paid €12,000 to play the role of the father of the bride and realised at the last minute that she was nine years old". Four people were arrested on Saturday – including the British "groom", the girl's mother, a 24-year-old Latvian woman who played the sister of the bride, and the 55-year-old Latvian man hired to play the "father of the bride", the tribunal said. Prosecutors added Disneyland Paris was "deceived" after the identity of a Latvian man and fake identification documents were used to secure the private event at the park, and that about a hundred hired extras were falsely presented to the company as wedding guests.
