World's most followed TikToker Khaby Lame self deports after ICE detention
Khaby Lame, the most followed person on TikTok, has voluntarily left the United States after being briefly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement last week for overstaying the terms of his visa.
Lame, whose real name is Serigne Khabane Lame, is a Senegalese- Italian TikToker known for his deadpan reactions to other videos. His viral videos have earned him a following of more than 162 million.
But on June 6, Lame was detained at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for violating the terms of his visa, ICE said in a statement.
Lame, 25, had entered the U.S. on April 30 on a temporary visa. While in the country, Lame attended the Met Gala in New York City.
'Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the U.S.,' an ICE spokesperson said.
It's unclear if Lame returned to Italy immediately.
As of Tuesday, Lame had posted an Instagram Story of himself in São Paulo, Brazil.
Lame's experience with immigration enforcement arrives as President Donald Trump directs local, state, and federal law enforcement to assist in carrying-out his long-promised mass deportation agenda.
News of the popular TikToker's detainment sent ripples across social media, with many of Lame's followers acknowledging his run-in with immigration law enforcement in his comment section, despite his videos having nothing to do with the incident.

'Bro ain't deported just winning,' one commenter wrote on an unrelated sponsored post.
'Is it true you were captured by ICE?' A person wrote on one of Lame's Instagram videos.
Lame has not publicly commented on accusations of overstaying his visa.
The interest in Lame's encounter with ICE arrives as other influencers are using their platform to raise awareness of the lack of due process associated with the Trump administration's mass deportation raids in Los Angeles and other cities.

'Alexandra actually got us kicked off,' Athena exclaimed. 'We got it, and then she cried too much, and they couldn't use me the whole time because of child labor laws.' The girls were replaced by Noelle and Cali Sheldon who took over playing Emma from 2002 to 2003 - whom the girls are now quasi friends with. 'We follow each other on Instagram,' Alexandra quipped. 'We've followed each other for a really long time since you were younger.' Despite a short time on set, they still walked away from their experience with some good stories - or at least that's what their mom has told them. 'She just said that all the cast members were super friendly, and all of the guys were hilarious like they'd be cracking jokes the whole time,' Athena recalled. 'She's like, "Oh, yeah, they would just say lines on the spot, and half of it would get put in the show" which that was something to me where I was like, wow, that's awesome,' she continued, adding the cast was all 'super sweet and welcoming.' They also revealed their on-screen mom - Jennifer Anniston - had a hand in selecting them for the role. '[Our mom said] they had actually shown photos of us to Jennifer Aniston — that's how she ended up choosing us,' Alexandra shared. While they haven't met anyone from the cast yet as adults, they have been back to the set to see where it all began. 'We did do a Friends tour at Warner Brothers a while ago. We were hoping there'd be a cast member there, but it was really cool,' Athena explained. 'We got to see the set and everything, but we have not gotten to meet anybody.' Despite their early start in the TV show, neither one of the girls have pursued a career in showbiz. Alexandra now works as a marketing and social media coordinator for a beauty company. Athena became a cheerleader for the Denver Broncos last year and also works as an investment control reconciler for a financial services company. While neither one of the Conleys pursued a career in the limelight after their stint as baby actresses, they loved what the show has given them and are huge fans. 'I have been a fan ever since I watched it for the first time and, to this day, it is still my all time favorite show,' Athena gushed, with Alexandra agreeing. She added: 'Each character brings something so unique and hilarious to the group — I see a bit of myself in all of them, which is what makes this show so special. No matter how many times I've rewatched the series, it still makes me laugh like it's my first time seeing it. It always lifts my mood and will forever be my favorite show.'

Bryan Cranston has opened up about the devastating impact of fame on his marriage to Robin Dearden during an appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival. The Breaking Bad star, who has been married to his wife for 36 years, revealed that he has to 'find ways' to deal with being a celebrity during a Tribeca X talk on Tuesday at Spring Studios in New York City. While on the topic of his success, Cranston, 69, noted to moderator Cynthia Littleton, co-editor-in-chief of Variety, that he was 'very lucky' that 'opportunity grew so fast' early on in his career, but now the opportunities he's presented with are 'larger than' his ambition right now. 'Absolutely, the luck and good fortune I've had creates that ascension of opportunity. But, then you are working just as hard. It's a better way to work than not having a job offer, but the offers are flooding, and you have to then sort and put people off and figure out and go, "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. How do I deal with this?"' He continued, 'And then there's the factor of this weird thing called celebrity and fame and what that does, and it offsets your personal relationship.
