Tourist loses his cool at Bangkok hotel's staff due to payment issue, triggers backlash: ‘Loser'
A video has sparked a massive backlash after it showed a furious tourist mistreating hotel staff at the Holiday Inn in Bangkok, Thailand. The man, travelling with his family, lost his temper reportedly over a payment issue concerning his stay at the hotel.
In the viral video, the visibly agitated man is yelling aggressively at the front desk employees, accusing them of overcharging him. Despite the staff's attempts to calmly address the issue, the man's shouting escalated, becoming so loud that his words were difficult to decipher. At one point, he even appeared to lunge toward a female staff member.
The man, dressed in a 'Greatest Dad Ever' T-shirt and barefoot, berated the employees in front of his family, calling them 'blo*** fools, blo*** thieves, blo*** rogues.' The video also shows how hotel workers remained calm as they tried to normalise the situation. However, the man continued to slam his hand on the counter and use expletives.
The incident reportedly occurred due to a misunderstanding. While the hotel had placed a hold on the man's credit card during check-in, one of his relatives had already paid for the stay. The man accused the hotel of charging twice. 'But he has already paid the money. Blo*** fool. Blo*** fool. We have already paid. Blo*** fool,' he shouted repeatedly.
As the video progresses, other hotel guests step in, urging the man to lower his voice. 'He can't be shouting like that. That's not right. He can't be doing that,' one of them is heard saying in the video. There remains some confusion about the man's nationality. While some social media posts claim he is of Indian origin, others say he is a Sri Lankan.

The post quickly gained traction, triggering a backlash against the tourist for mistreating the hotel staff. 'What insufferable people,' a user wrote. 'people like this should not have money, This is unsightly and undignified behavior. Imagine becoming rich just to deal with shoeless madmen in the lobby of your hotel,' another user commented.
'Loser,' a third user reacted. 'Truth is it's one guy overeating, even his family are trying to calm him down,' a fourth user chimed in.

Recover ₹65.9 cr from accounts of convicts: High Court to Canada
New Delhi The Delhi high court has allowed the Canadian government to recover ₹ 65.9 crore from Indian bank accounts of Indian origin Ontario bureaucrat Sanjay Madan and his associate Vidhan Madan, in connection with a ₹ 290 crore fraud case being pursued before Canadian courts, and directed IndusInd and RBL bank to remit the amount. A bench of justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora passed its June 23 order, after Sanjay, who appeared virtually, did not object to the transfer (Getty Images/iStockphoto) In April 2023, Sanjay Madan was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, after he pleaded guilty to stealing $47.4 million Canadian dollars from the Ontario government. The government had accused Madan of exploiting his senior position within the Ontario ministry of education and stealing nearly $11 million by manipulating Ontario's Support for Families Program (SFFP) implemented during Covid-19. Sanjay was also accused of rigging the selection process for IT Consultants as a Director of the i-Access Branch with his associate Vidhan, and receiving more than $36 million through kickbacks from 2011 to 2020. A bench of justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora passed its June 23 order, after Sanjay, who appeared virtually, did not object to the transfer and asserted that the funds lying in account held by the two in IndusInd and RBL bank, were sufficient to pay the settlement amount of ₹ 65.9 crore. He, however, said that the accounts were lying dormant and undertook to execute all the necessary documents for re-enabling their operation and repatriation of the amount to the government. As a part of the plea agreement, Madan had agreed to repay the 30 million upfront and pay the remaining over 15 years. The court had also restrained Madan and his associate Vidhan Madan from dissipating their assets including those located outside Canada. Vidhan was accused of transferring ill gotten gains received from the two fraudulent schemes from Canada to India. Considering the submissions the court thus directed Madan to cooperate with the banks for reenabling their operation within two weeks and thereafter remit the amount to the Canadian government's bank account. 'In view of the submissions of counsel for the Defendant No. 1 and the Defendant No.1 himself who appeared through Video Conferencing Link, the Defendant No.5/IndusInd and Defendant No.10/RBL are directed to co- operate with the Defendant No.1 in getting the KYC compliance done within two (2) weeks qua the bank accounts held in the name of Defendant No.1 in their respective banks. After the above said KYC compliance is done, Defendant No. 5 and Defendant No. 10 are further directed to remit an amount to the tune of Rs. 65.9 Crores in the bank account of the Crown/Plaintiff in accordance with applicable law/rules,' the court said in its order. The court issued the directions while considering an application filed by the Canadian government seeking to restrain the duo from operating or transacting the funds held in their Indian bank accounts. The application was filed in the suit seeking recovery of funds allegedly diverted to India as a part of the fraud. The suit stated that Madan had admitted before the Canadian court that he had diverted certain funds out of the proceeds of crime to India and used them to also buy properties in India. In its 12-page order, the judge further barred Sanjay and Vidhan from operating their Indian account pending further orders, with limited exceptions including remittance of ₹ 65.9 crores and payment of legal fees to the counsel, backed by a valid documentation. 'In view of the statement of Defendant No. 1 and the e-mail response of Defendant No. 2, Defendant Nos. 1 and 2 are restrained from transacting from their Indian Bank accounts until the final disposal of this application,' the court said in its order. The court also issued summons in the suit and fixed September 2 as the next date of hearing.

NIA launches separate probe into TRF funding
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigating the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack has launched a separate, 'larger conspiracy' probe into the funding of The Resistance Front (TRF) --seen as a proxy outfit of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)-- that initially claimed responsibility for the massacre in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 25 tourists and a local pony guide, people familiar with the development said on Wednesday. The probe comes amid a manhunt for three Pakistani terrorists that executed the Pahalgam attack and the arrest of two locals who gave them shelter. (PTI) The probe comes amid a manhunt for three Pakistani terrorists that executed the attack and the arrest of two locals who gave them shelter. TRF claimed responsibility within hours of the Pahalgam terror attack but later tried to disassociate itself from the ghastly killings as global condemnation mounted. Indian agencies have said TRF is nothing but a name Pakistan uses for LeT, designated as a terrorist outfit by the United Nations, to avoid international sanctions. The new investigation pertains to the activities of a Handwara resident, identified as Shafat Wani, who was receiving funds from TRF leaders from across the border, which he used to promote terrorist activities in India, said an officer, who asked not to be named. 'A case under sections 13, 17 and 18 of the unlawful activities prevention act (UAPA) — which deals with terrorist and related funding activities — has been registered in the matter and a thorough investigation is on,' the officer said. While recommending a NIA probe in the matter last month, the Union home ministry said that there was a 'need to unearth the larger conspiracy' as such funding of the Pakistan-based TRF 'has grave national and international ramifications', a second officer said. To be sure, the new probe is separate from the NIA's Pahalgam investigation and it is not known yet if any of Wani's funding for TRF from Pakistan was used forthe April 22 attack. Agency officials didn't disclose the amount of funds Wani received from across the border, the period of funding or his past association with Lashkar-e-Taiba or any other outfit, saying, 'investigation is currently going on'. The federal agency on Sunday arrested two men from Pahalgam — Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad Jothar — who allegedly harboured the three Pakistani attackers and provided them with food. They are currently being interrogated after a five-day custody remand. Parvaiz and Bashir had knowingly harboured the three armed terrorists at a seasonal dhok (hut) at Hill Park before the attack, the agency said on Sunday. 'The two men had provided food, shelter and logistical support to the terrorists who selectively killed the tourists on the basis of their religious identity,' the agency said. The duo has identified the three Pakistani terrorists, the agency said, but NIA did not confirmed if the attackers are the ones whose sketches were released by the Jammu and Kashmir police on April 24. India responded to the terror attack with Operation Sindoor on May 7, bombing nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in pre-dawn strikes that killed at least 100 militants. The operation sparked four days of cross-border fighting involving fighter jets, missiles and artillery. Over the last three years, TRF has claimed responsibility for several attacks on civilians including migrant workers and Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir . Security agencies have said the outfit was also behind the twin-drone attacks on the Jammu Indian Air Force (IAF) station in June 2021. Indian agencies have assessed that TRF was propped by Pakistan after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, to avoid scrutiny from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). The ministry of home affairs (MHA) banned it in January 2023 under the UAPA. Its commander, Sajjad Gul, was also declared an individual terrorist in 2022. 'The Resistance Front came into existence in the year 2019 as a proxy outfit of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a proscribed terrorist organisation listed at serial number 5 of the first schedule under the UAPA. TRF has been involved in carrying out propaganda on terror activities, recruitment of terrorists, infiltration of terrorists and smuggling of weapons and narcotics from Pakistan into Jammu and Kashmir,' the MHA said in its notification in January 2023. Officials said that LeT and its proxy is being helped by overground workers (OGWs) not only in the Valley but in the Jammu region as well, which has seen a series of attacks on civilians since 2021.
