Killeen's late strike gives Durham edge on Somerset
Rothesay County Championship Division One, Banks Homes Riverside (day one)Durham 277: Robinson 52, Gay 41; Henry 4-60Somerset 63-3Somerset 3pts, Durham 1ptMatch scorecard
Matt Henry took four wickets for Somerset but 20-year-old Mitch Killeen's late strike helped Durham just shade the first day of their County Championship Division One match.Despite Ollie Robinson's 52 and a half-century stand for the last wicket, the home side were dismissed for 277 in their first innings in a match between teams who possess identical records and are currently separated by a handful of bonus points in the Division One table.Having accounted for three top-order batsmen, Henry returned figures of 4-60 but Somerset were 63-3 in reply at stumps with the wicket of Tom Lammonby falling to Championship debutant Killeen for 24 just seven balls before the close. The day's cricket began in atrocious fashion for the home side when their captain, Alex Lees, inside-edged Henry's first ball onto his off stump and departed for a golden duck.Ben McKinney and Emilio Gay then repaired the home side's innings with a 65-run stand in 20 overs before McKinney was caught behind by James Rew for 30 when he played outside a ball from Josh Davey that was angled in to him from around the wicket.Gay had already been dropped on 26 at midwicket by Jack Leach off Migael Pretorius when McKinney's wicket fell but the former Northamptonshire batsman could not capitalise on his escape. Instead he was dismissed for 41 a quarter of an hour before lunch when he top-edged a pull off Henry to Tom Abell at long leg.Having seen Lewis Gregory lose the toss, Somerset's bowlers were probably satisfied with a lunch score of 96-3. And they would have been ecstatic a few minutes after the resumption when the dangerous Bedingham shuffled across his stumps, looked to work the ball to leg and was lbw to his fellow South African Pretorius for 17.Robinson responded by taking hitting three fours in four balls off Craig Overton and all this seemed to set the tone for a session in which quick runs were traded for wickets. Robinson reached his half-century off 52 balls but was caught by Rew off Henry when he nicked a ball of full length.Graham Clark made 15 in 21 minutes before snicking Josh Davey down the leg side to Rew and his departure left Durham on 185-6 in the 50th over. Colin Ackermann was bowled by Overton for 30 and, five balls later, Raine was leg before to Pretorius for 25. Tea arrived with Durham on 227-8.Five balls into the evening session, Killeen's first innings in Championship cricket ended when he was caught by first slip Lewis Gregory off Henry for a 15-ball duck but Codi Yusuf and Minto then batted as calmly and sensibly as most of the top order to take Durham to their first bonus point of the innings. Not content with adding the 23 runs necessary for that landmark to be reached, the pair put on exactly 50 before Minto, who made 67 as a nightwatchman-opener last week, was caught by Lammonby at square leg off Pretorius for 34. Yusuf was unbeaten on 16 and Pretorius finished with 3-63.Somerset's first innings also began poorly when Gregory was bowled by Minto for five when his attempt to let the ball go only diverted it into his stumps but Davey and Lammonby added 42 before Davey was caught at slip off Yusuf for 24 and Lammonby was caught behind off Minto for 18.ECB Reporters' Network supported by Rothesay

Aston Martin's New Valkyrie LM Is As Close As You Can Get To a Le Mans Hypercar, With Just 10 Made
If you've dreamed of racing at Le Mans, Aston Martin has the perfect car for you. How Aston Martin's Valkyrie LM differs from the LMH set to compete in The 24 Hours of Le Mans Aston Martin has revealed its new Valkyrie LM hypercar, which is derived from its Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) counterpart competing in the world-famous race this weekend. The Valkyrie LM's 10 owners will enjoy the same 7-speed transmission and 6.5-liter V-12 engine in the LMH version, but this modified engine produces 697 hp compared to the race version's 670. Aston Martin is making the Valkyrie LM accessible to amateur drivers by removing race series-specific elements like added weight and FIA-regulation electronics in favor of a cockpit interface tailored for track day usage. The automaker also changed the Valkyrie LM's torque control to a friendlier open-loop configuration instead of closed-loop with fewer internal adjustments, removed torque sensors managing power delivery for less technological oversight, and altered the V-12 engine to accept standard fuel. 0:06 / 0:09 Walmart is selling a 'heavy duty' $89 step ladder for $48, and shoppers say it's 'sturdy and secure' Watch More Aston Martin Valkyrie LM Operating in rear-wheel drive, the one-seater Valkyrie LM features Pirelli tires, semi-automatic paddle shifters like the LMH version, and a double-wishbone front and rear suspension with pushrod-actuated torsion bar springs with adjustable side and central dampers. This race-derived suspension set-up optimizes track performance and adjustability, and the cockpit contains a custom carbon-fiber race seat with shoulder support and headrest padding. This multi-million dollar Aston Martin also has an FIA safety harness, fire suppression system, and steering wheel with an integrated display and shift lights. Aston Martin has plenty in store for Valkyrie LM buyers Aston Martin is ensuring the Valkyrie LM's 10 buyers get the most out of their purchase with its optional track day program launching in Q2 2026. The track day program ensures each car is set up and prepared as it should be, with assistance from professional engineers, allowing drivers to push the model's limits, which include top speeds exceeding 200 mph. Before hitting the track, the program has owners train on a simulator with driver coaching sessions. Each Valkyrie LM comes with a helmet, Head and Neck Safety (HANS) device, driver's suit and boots, molded earpieces, driver's gloves, and fireproof underwear. Drivers opting into the track day program will have Aston Martin store their Valkyrie LM, allowing them to simply fly in, race, and fly out. Adam Carter, Aston Martin's Head of Endurance Motorsport, said in a release: 'It is important to emphasize that the Valkyrie LM is close to identical to the race car that is currently competing in WEC and IMSA, with only a few minor deviations to ensure it is a non-homologated variant and is accessible for customers to experience and enjoy. Valkyrie LM represents the most authentic Hypercar track experience that is now available.' Autoblog Newsletter Autoblog brings you car news; expert reviews and exciting pictures and video. While the 10 Valkyrie LM owners will be part of a small club, Aston Martin facilitates a community aspect within this exclusive group through its track day program. Customers participating in the program will enjoy a Q2 2026 hand-off event marking first drives, two fully supported track days in Q3 2026, and additional track runs at F1 circuits in Q4 2026. Aston Martin's Valkyrie LM is an endurance racing fan's dream come true. Pricing has yet to be announced. About the Author Cody Carlson View Profile

England vs Senegal LIVE SCORE: Action on NOW as Sarr LEVELS for Senegal after Kane scored early for Tuchel's side
Fans back Trevoh amid 10 changes England fans appear delighted Thomas Tuchel has made 10 changes to his starting line-up. That in itself is no surprise - given Saturday's win over Andorra was so poor and tonight's friendly is so unimportant, result wise. But supporters are also excited to see "unsung hero" Trevoh Chalobah start in defence. One called it "insane" the 25-year-ld has been uncapped until tonight. He added: "I'll speak for all Chelsea fans, he is underrated. Solid, fast, trajectory in his movement forward and humble." Another wrote: "Debut for Trevoh nice." But a third observer posted: "Can't believe he gets in a squad ahead of [Harry] Maguire."
