New York Knicks Forward Announces Decision on Retirement
New York Knicks Forward Announces Decision on Retirement originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The New York Knicks' playoff run, while impressive, came to an unfortunate end at the hands of the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks were regarded as the favorites going into the series after knocking off the defending champion Boston Celtics.

The season should be looked at as a success, considering the trip to the Eastern Conference Finals was their first in 25 years. Unfortunately, history repeated itself, as the Knicks lost to the Pacers in the same round in 2000.

New York Knicks forward announces decision on retirement
Despite their most successful season since 2000, the Knicks made a shocking decision last week when they announced they were firing head coach Tom Thibodeau. The announcement was met with different reactions. Some were caught off guard, while others believed it was a long time coming.
If the Knicks were willing to make major changes regarding the head coaching position, it's incredibly possible that changes to the roster are ahead. However, New York Knicks forward P.J. Tucker made a signficant announcement regarding his future.

"Never have I mentioned retirement or even given any indication that may be a thing. I'm 40 years young 100% healthy, able, and will continue playing the game I've dedicated my life to...HOOPIN!!!!!!," Tucker said via his Instagram story.
Tucker appeared in three games for the Knicks, starting one. In those three games, he averaged 19.3 minutes, 3.0 points, and 2.7 rebounds per game. The Knicks have a club option on Tucker and will have to decide before the June 29 deadline whether they want to bring him back.
Tucker has played for eight teams in his 14-year NBA career. While he likely won't be a contributor on a team he lands on if the Knicks choose not to pick up the option, he provides a veteran presence and playoff experience to the locker room.

Dolphins' Bradley Chubb's Contract Named One of NFL's Worst
Dolphins' Bradley Chubb's Contract Named One of NFL's Worst originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Miami Dolphins have made a habit of giving players big contracts or extensions in recent years. That list includes players like Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, Jalen Ramsey, and Jaylen Waddle, who all signed their deals since 2022. Advertisement Now, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox named Chubb's contract one of the worst in the NFL as the 2025 season draws closer. The former Pro Bowl pass-rusher is on a three-year contract worth up to $54.5 million. "To be fair, this contract was a lot worse before Bradley Chubb agreed to take less money on a revised deal in March," Knox said. That initial extension Chubb signed was for $110 million over five years back in 2022 after he was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Dolphins. "That was a lot of money to give a pass-rusher with 26 sacks and one Pro Bowl on his resume. It was probably a bad deal, given Chubb's significant injury history—which may have foreshadowed issues in Miami," Knox wrote. Miami Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb (2) looks during training camp at Baptist Health Training Navarro-Imagn Images Knox noted Chubb's torn ACL in 2019 and season-ending ankle surgery in 2022. But the big injury that has sidelined him since New Year's Eve of 2023 was the torn ACL, meniscus, and patellar tendon that he suffered. Advertisement Chubb had 11 sacks that year, playing in 16 games. It was the only season he had double-digit sacks and the only season he played as many as 16 games since his rookie year in 2018. "The Dolphins have still guaranteed $33.5 million over the next three years to a soon-to-be 29-year-old second-tier pass-rusher," Knox said. "For a franchise that may be closer to a reset than a deep playoff run, that's a bad deal." Nation's No. 1 Recruit Had No Words for 5-Star Athlete's Miami Post
Nation's No. 1 Recruit Had No Words for 5-Star Athlete's Miami Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the Miami Hurricanes continue to push for the top players remaining in the 2026 recruiting class, they've started to ramp things up with official visits. Advertisement That includes athlete Lamar Brown. He went to Coral Gables on May 30, marking the second time the program hosted the Erwinville, Louisiana, product. Of course, as is a long-standing tradition with almost any visit, Brown tried on the Hurricanes' uniform, which he showcased with a social media post on Thursday, captioned "Take me back!!!" That caught the attention of Miami commit Jackson Cantwell (the No. 1 player in the nation per On3 Industry Rankings), who acknowledged the post by replying with three shrugging emojis. Of course, it's no surprise to see Cantwell trying to help the Hurricanes land Brown, as On3 Industry Rankings have him as a five-star prospect, the No. 1 athlete, the No. 1 player in Louisiana and the No. 7 player in the nation. Advertisement Throughout his high school career, he has been extremely impressive and in 2024 earned MaxPreps Junior All-America first-team honors at offensive line after not allowing a single sack all season. However, as impressive as that is, in an article from On3's Chad Simmons, Brown revealed that he plans on playing defensive line for whichever program earns his commitment. Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario CristobalSam Navarro-Imagn Images Now, it will remain to be seen if Cantwell's subtle recruiting tactics pay off, as the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the LSU Tigers the best chance to land Brown at 96.9%, while Miami is listed at less than 1%. It's not as though these two are the only programs in play either, as Brown previously had an official visit with the Texas Longhorns on June 6 and has another scheduled with the Texas A&M Aggies on June 20. Nation's No. 1 WR Makes Recruiting Decision Despite LSU Commitment
Nation's No. 1 WR Makes Recruiting Decision Despite LSU Commitment originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The LSU Tigers and head coach Brian Kelly have put together an extremely impressive 2026 recruiting class, which features a total of nine commitments, ranking No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the nation. Advertisement Among those players is wide receiver Tristen Keys out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who originally pledged to the program on March 19 and has taken just one unofficial visit to Baton Rouge (April 1, 2023). However, it appears that the wide receiver is choosing to keep his options open, because on Thursday, On3's Steve Wiltfong reported that Keys will be taking an official visit with the Tennessee Volunteers this weekend. There's no doubt that the Volunteers are going to do whatever it takes to leave their mark, as On3 Industry Rankings has Keys as a five-star prospect, the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 5 player in the nation. Advertisement Last season, he was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American after an impressive performance for Hattiesburg High School, hauling in 58 receptions, 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns. However, Tennessee isn't the only program trying to lure him from LSU, as Keys has already taken an official visit with the Miami Hurricanes on May 30 and the Texas A&M Aggies on June 6. Hattiesburg High School wide receiver and LSU Tigers commit Tristen Keys (5).Barbara Gauntt/Clarion Ledger / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images If Tennessee could get the job done, though, it would be huge for head coach Josh Heupel, as their 2026 recruiting class is slightly less impressive than the Tigers', ranking No. 5 in the SEC and No. 12 in the nation. However, landing a wide receiver isn't an absolute necessity, as they've already received commitments from two in the form of four-star Tyreek King and three-star Tyran Evans.
