California Police Hit Speeding Porsches With 34 Tickets In One Stop
Read the full story on The Auto Wire California Highway Patrol sure is busy these days, with an officer stopping two speeding Porsches, giving out 34 tickets between them. That might sound excessive, but CHP was so proud of what its officer did, the law enforcement agency posted pictures on its social media to CHP, the two Porsche 911s were speeding through a construction zone in Santa Curz County. We don't know how fast they were going because CHP apparently didn't find that relevant to post, but it might help us understand how two drivers could get 34 citations in a single traffic stop. However, if you zoom in on the pile of tickets, you can see the top one says at least one of the Porsches was going 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. That's not criminal in California. For speeding to turn into a felony, the driver needs to be doing over 100 mph or doubling the posted speed limit. But the CHP officer found plenty of other violations to hit both Porsche drivers with. We're also a little surprised if CHP is handing out that many tickets the cars weren't seized. After all, citations are a great source of revenue for law enforcement, but let's be honest, impounding vehicles is an even more lucrative way to shake down the citizenry. In a separate incident a few days before, CHP once again on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz County nailed five Corvettes at once for speeding. At least one of them was going over 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. The law enforcement agency was very proud of this other multi-vehicle stop. If you're living in or traveling through Santa Cruz County, just beware CHP is patrolling Highway 1 heavily and is eager to hand out citations. Why Taylor Swift Is Reportedly 'Relieved' Her Friendship With Blake Lively Is Over
Taylor Swift is allegedly in her 'relieved' era after ending her friendship with Blake Lively over the Justin Baldoni legal drama. A source told the Daily Mail that the singer is 'relieved the relationship is over' because she can now 'see all the red flags' she missed in their friendship. The source claimed that Swift put up with Lively's 'antics for too long because she's a loyal friend.' More from SheKnows Every Star Taylor Swift Has Feuded With The source's claims come after Baldoni's legal team withdrew a subpoena sent to Swift, officially ending her involvement in the It Ends With Us director's legal battle with Lively, which was supposedly the cause of her feud with her longtime friend. Baldoni is suing his It Ends With Us co-star and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging that they tried to destroy his career with false allegations of sexual harassment. Baldoni's lawsuit came after Lively sued him and a cast of publicists for allegedly launching an online whisper campaign against her in retaliation for her harassment complaints. Swift was dragged into the mix when she was referenced in Baldoni's lawsuit as a 'megacelebrity friend' of Lively and Reynolds, whom he alleged they used to pressure him to accept Lively's script rewrites. He claimed Lively referred to Swift as one of her 'dragons' and alleged he was invited to a meeting with Swift and Reynolds where the singer praised Lively's edits, which Baldoni took as a sign that he was expected to change the screenplay. Swift was subpoenaed in the case, and a court filing from Bryan Freedman, Baldoni's lead attorney, stated that he was looking for evidence that Lively's lawyer threatened Swift's legal team that they would release texts between the two friends if Swift did not issue a statement of support for Lively on social media. Lively's team has called Freedman's suggestion that such evidence exists 'unequivocally and demonstrably false.' In a statement issued on May 22, via Variety, a spokesperson for Lively accused Baldoni and his team of trying to exploit Swift's fame to sensationalize their claims. 'We are pleased that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties have withdrawn their harassing subpoenas to Taylor Swift and her law firm,' the spokesperson said. 'We supported the efforts of Taylor's team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel, and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process.' 'The Baldoni and Wayfarer team have tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has been an inspiration for tens of millions across the globe, at the center of this case since day one,' Lively's spokesperson added. 'Faced with having to justify themselves in federal court, they folded. At some point, they will run out of distractions from the actual claims of sexual harassment and retaliation they are facing.'Best of SheKnows Elizabeth Hurley & Billy Ray Cyrus, & More of the Best Red Carpet Debuts From Celebrity Couples Over the Years Yoko Ono's Daughter Kyoko, & 22 Surprising Celebrities That Were In or Linked to a Cult 7 Ways Chrissy Teigen Has Altered Her Appearance Over the Years: Plastic Surgery & More
