Zoho co-founder Sridhar Vembu took to social media on Thursday to share that he had eaten a vada pav for the first time in his life.
Vembu whose net worth according to Forbes is $5.8 billion, who said he enjoyed the ₹ 20 snack in Mumbai, wondered why he had not tried it earlier.
Sharing a picture clicked at the eatery on X, Vembu wrote, 'Enjoying vada pav in Mumbai. First time in life. How did I miss it all this while?'
Earlier, several other billionaires – including Apple CEO Tim Cook and Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma – during their visit to Mumbai were spotted enjoying vada pavs.
When Tim Cook was in India to launch Apple Store BKC and Apple Store Saket, he was seen enjoying vada pao with actor Madhuri Dixit in an iconic vegetarian restaurant located in South Mumbai's Tardeo. He visited the eatery a day before the official opening of the BKC store.
Following this, Cook tweeted, 'Thanks, Madhuri Dixit for introducing me to my very first vada pav — it was delicious!'
Nearly a week after Madhuri Dixit's visit with Cook at Swati Snacks, her husband Dr Shriram Nene took Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma to the eatery.
Dr Nene tweeted with a photo featuring Sharma and two others, saying, 'Our vada pav moment at Swati Snacks. The company was what made the experience.'
Considered as 'Indian burger,' vada pav is quite popular and is a cultural staple in the region. It consists of a spicy potato fritter, or vada, encased in a golden, crispy gram flour coating.
Generally it nestled inside butter-toasted bread roll known as pav, flavoured with a fiery garlic chutney, cool green chutney, and a tangy tamarind spread. Also, a deep-fried green chili on the side is presented with it while consuming.

Groom's Bollywood dance to 'Dhoom Machale' wins hearts online, Hrithik Roshan says 'Love it'

An American groom has taken the internet by storm after a video of him dancing to Dhoom Machale at his wedding went viral. Shared by the Instagram account Lettering by Sav, the clip shows the groom—dressed in just his wedding vest and trousers—pulling off energetic moves to the iconic Bollywood number alongside his friends. The video was cheekily captioned, 'When a white boy marries a brown girl.' The surprise twist? Hrithik Roshan, who starred in Dhoom 2 and is often remembered for his dance in the song, saw the video and left a comment under it. The Bollywood star simply wrote, 'Love it,' with a fire emoji and left fans delighted. The groom's performance quickly became a fan favourite. Viewers praised his energy, effort, and joyful embrace of Indian culture. Comments ranged from playful—'Hrithik has been real silent ever since this was posted'—to heartfelt. One person declared, 'This guy's a keeper,' while another joked, 'The Indian government has to give him his Aadhaar card.' But the Dhoom tribute wasn't the only moment that caught attention. In another clip shared by the same account, the groom and his groomsmen are seen dancing to 'Desi Girl' from 'Dostana', again earning applause online. One commenter summed it up best: 'I love in interfaith weddings the non Indian groom dances to Indian music and involves in the culture. I would like to see more of the Indian bride also getting involved in his culture also.' Hrithik was last seen in 'Fighter', directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also featured Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. He will next be seen in 'War 2', alongside Jr NTR and Kiara Advani. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, will also be Jr NTR's most-awaited Bollywood debut. Hrithik is also set to make his directorial debut with 'Krrish 4'. The film will be jointly produced by his father, Rakesh Roshan, and YRF's Aditya Chopra. The actor has also been signed on for a production under Hombale Films. However, details of the project are currently under wraps.

Satellite for ₹33,000, data plan at ₹3000: Starlink's India plan

Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink is preparing to commence operations in India within the next two months after receiving its license last week, sources said. The company has finalised its pricing structure for the Indian market, setting the cost of the required satellite dish device at approximately ₹33,000. The monthly unlimited data plan is expected to be priced at ₹3,000. As part of its launch strategy, Starlink plans to offer a complimentary one-month trial period with each device purchase, allowing customers to test the service before committing to regular monthly payments. The satellite internet service is expected to significantly impact connectivity in India's remote and underserved areas, where traditional broadband infrastructure has been challenging to establish. Starlink's low Earth orbit satellite constellation promises to deliver high-speed internet access to locations previously unreachable by conventional terrestrial networks. READ | Modi orchestrated Starlink's Airtel, Jio deals to buy peace with Trump: Congress The pricing structure appears consistent with Starlink's regional strategy, as the device costs align with those in neighbouring countries. In Bangladesh, the Starlink device is priced at ₹33,000, while Bhutan maintains the same ₹33,000 price point for the equipment. Industry experts suggest that Starlink's entry into the Indian market could intensify competition in the country's telecommunications sector and provide crucial connectivity solutions for rural areas, educational institutions, and businesses in remote locations. The company's imminent launch comes as India continues to push for digital inclusion and improved internet connectivity across its vast geographical expanse, particularly in areas where traditional internet service providers have struggled to establish reliable networks.
