International Labour Day is a chance to recognise the role of workers and honour their contribution across all fields of labour, MP Dr Maryam Al Dhaen said, praising the efforts of Bahrain's workforce in driving economic and social development.
She expressed appreciation for Bahraini workers in particular, noting their skill and determination, and said their efforts have played a part in advancing production and growth.
Dr Al Dhaen added that these contributions have been supported by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who have placed Bahraini employment high on the national agenda.
She said the legislative branch is keen to continue revising labour-related laws in a way that protects workers' rights, balances the interests of all sides in the labour market, and supports a safe and encouraging work environment.
She added that close cooperation between the legislative and executive branches is important for launching steps that improve the situation of workers and respond to their needs.
Labour Day, she said, is not just a formality, but a time to reaffirm national support for the workforce and to continue building a fairer and more stable working life.
