KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Yousef Kazem, spokesperson for the unified government e-services application 'Sahel', announced on Wednesday evening that services would gradually resume after being affected by periodic maintenance work on one of the servers.
Kazem informed KUNA that "technical teams have already begun the process of gradually resuming services," emphasizing that efforts are being made to restore them fully as soon as possible. He also noted that the technical support teams are working tirelessly to ensure uninterrupted service and minimize the impact on users, expressing appreciation for the public's understanding during this temporary situation.

He added that preparations at the key pilgrimage sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah have been completed in advance, underscoring the mission's goal of facilitating a safe and organized environment for pilgrims to carry out their religious duties. Dr Al-Mutairi urged all Kuwaiti pilgrims to adhere to official guidelines issued by the Saudi authorities and to cooperate with the supervisory and service teams accompanying the Kuwaiti hajj mission. The mission includes several government and NGOs tasked with supporting pilgrims. These include the Ministries of Islamic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Information, and Health, along with the General Fire Force, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, the Public Authority for Youth, and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS). In a related development, KRCS Secretary-General Fahad Al-Mandeel confirmed the organization's participation in this year's hajj mission. KRCS volunteers will provide humanitarian aid, first aid services, and logistical support to pilgrims. Al-Mandeel told KUNA that both male and female volunteers from the society will take part in the mission as part of KRCS's ongoing humanitarian role in serving pilgrims. He highlighted the society's continued collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and other official bodies. He also commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its extensive efforts in organizing the hajj season, noting the early preparations, high-quality services, and coordination with international hajj missions, including Kuwait's. According to Al-Mandeel, the KRCS delegation will deliver field medical services in coordination with Kuwaiti medical teams, assist elderly and ill pilgrims, and distribute necessary medical and informational materials. Strong winds and dust storms continue across Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, June 4: Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, confirmed Wednesday that Kuwait will continue to experience strong northwesterly winds, with speeds sometimes exceeding 50 kilometers per hour. These winds are expected to raise dust and reduce horizontal visibility, particularly in exposed areas. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali said weather charts and numerical models show that the country has been under the influence of strong winds since the morning. These winds are not only causing dust storms but also raising sea waves to heights of over six feet. He attributed the ongoing weather conditions to an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a hot and dry air mass. A relative decrease in wind speeds is expected by Thursday afternoon, he added. Al-Ali noted that the general weather will remain hot during the day and warm to hot at night, with dust expected to gradually settle overnight. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows are expected to range from 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. He urged citizens and residents, especially those with asthma or allergies, to wear protective masks. He also advised beachgoers to take precautions due to high waves, and motorists to remain cautious of sudden drops in visibility and potential sand accumulation on highways.

Article 8 passports to be delivered in 2 shifts this Eid holiday
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Nationality and Travel Documents, announced that the delivery of Article 8 passports will take place in two daily shifts during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, starting next Saturday. According to a statement issued Tuesday by the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media, passport delivery will be carried out from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., based on times previously communicated to applicants. The move aims to streamline the passport collection process and enhance service quality, in accordance with ministry directives. The ministry emphasized the importance of booking appointments in advance through the unified government platform "Sahel," by selecting the service path: (Appointments → Ministry of Interior → General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents → Receiving Article 8 Passports). Applicants are also required to present their passport delivery receipt upon arrival. This initiative follows the Ministry of Interior's announcement at the end of May regarding the commencement of passport delivery to individuals whose Kuwaiti nationality was previously revoked under Article 8 of the Nationality Law. These individuals, having returned their passports to the ministry, are now being processed as Kuwaiti nationals.
