Israel strikes multiple areas in southern Lebanon
Shafaq News/ On Thursday, Israeli drone attacks struck several locations in southern Lebanon, killing one person and wounding another, according to local media.
A drone strike targeted a motorcycle on the Nabatieh-Fawqa road, resulting in one fatality, Lebanon's Health Ministry confirmed, following an earlier strike on a motorcycle in Deir Seryan, Marjayoun district, injuring one individual.
Two additional strikes were reported in the Rehan-Zughrin area, while a separate attack targeted the Tibna-Baysariyeh zone. Casualty details from these strikes were not immediately available.
Lebanese authorities report that Israel has carried out nearly 3,000 ceasefire violations since the truce took effect on November 27, 2024, with at least 212 killed and over 500 wounded since.
Israeli forces continue to occupy five hilltops in southern Lebanon, seized during the last war.

Amin Jaber, Director General of Lebanese Civil Aviation, told Shafaq News that all eastern routes toward Syria, Iraq, and Jordan are closed, halting outbound flights on those paths, while Iraq suspended all inbound flights to Beirut, and some Lebanese aircraft are reaching Amman via a limited route through Jordanian airspace. Jaber said Cyprus now serves as Lebanon's only open-air corridor and remains a key connection to Europe and nearby regions. An Iraqi security source also told Shafaq News that Iraq had closed its airspace and suspended all flights in response to Israel's military operation. The move followed the launch of Operation Rising Lion, during which more than 200 Israeli warplanes struck Iranian nuclear and military sites. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the objective was to neutralize a growing existential threat, while Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei pledged a 'severe punishment' in response.

Fresh Israeli strikes hit nuclear site and radar base in Iran

Tasnim News Agency reported a large explosion in the Khawarshahr area, south of Tehran. Meanwhile, Fars News Agency confirmed that two points near the Fordow nuclear facility, one of Iran's most secure and fortified uranium enrichment centers, were also targeted in the latest attacks. In western Iran, the Deputy Governor of Hamedan Province announced that a radar center in the city of Nahavand had been struck in an Israeli air raid. The site is believed to be part of Iran's air surveillance and early warning network, which has been under high alert since the first wave of strikes. Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khaledi, spokesperson for Iran's Red Crescent Society, stated that rescue and relief operations are ongoing in 12 provinces. According to his briefing, 95 civilians have been injured and transferred to hospitals, while 26 others were treated on-site by medical teams. In East Azerbaijan Province, the Director of the Crisis Management Office reported that 18 people were killed and 35 injured in the latest Israeli attacks on the region. Netanyahu hails "historic" Iran strike
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the military operation against Iran as a "historic" strategic shift. In a televised address, Netanyahu revealed that the operation had been planned for late April but was delayed for operational reasons. 'This strike did not happen by chance,' he said. 'It was the result of months of preparation to neutralize a growing existential threat.' 'We dealt a heavy blow— Natanz was destroyed and other targets were hit. The goal is to eliminate Iran's ability to produce missiles and prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons,' he stated.
