Gasperini wants Matt O'Riley since Atalanta days
Gian Piero Gasperini has asked Roma to try and pursue Brighton midfielder Matt O'Riley.
The Dane is one of Gasperini's favorite players since his days at Celtic.
In fact, the Roma manager was very close to recruiting him to Atalanta last year but ultimately Brighton overtook la Dea in the race for O'Riley.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have shown interest in the Danish talent in recent weeks, though there is a lot of competition involved.
O'Riley could be the ideal reinforcement for the midfield, capable of giving balance and quality to the Giallorossi.
His current pricetag is of around 20 million euros.

A trio of leading clubs from across Europe could well do battle over the signature of Athletic Club star Nico Williams this summer. That's according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has provided an insight into the latest word surrounding the 22-year-old's future. Raul Asencio extends Real Madrid contract through to 2031
Raul Asencio has extended his Real Madrid contract through to 2031. The Athletic reported in March Madrid had triggered a pre-agreed contract option to extend the 22-year-old defender's terms through to 2029 — a condition that is common among the club's academy players, which is activated if they move up to the first team. Advertisement Following the pre-contract extension being triggered, both parties began discussions over a new renewal on improved terms, and this has been agreed through to 2031. A €1billion release clause and increased salary have been included as part of the renewal. Asencio enjoyed a breakthrough season at Madrid after long-term injuries to fellow defenders Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, making 41 first-team appearances since his debut in November. He received his first Spain call-up in March but is yet to make his senior debut for the national side. The Athletic reported in May that Asencio could face criminal proceedings for allegedly sharing a sex tape involving a minor. He is one of four former Real Madrid youth players facing potential charges in the case that centres around the alleged non-consensual filming and distributing sexual content of a minor and one other woman. His case was sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Asencio was targeted with abusive chants on occasion during the 2024-25 season, and former Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said in February he would not consider dropping the defender to protect him from the chants.
