GWS Giants v Gold Coast AFL Round 14: Live updates, SuperCoach scores, teams
Lachie Whitfield has regained his status as the Giants' kick-in king.
After taking seven kick-ins from rounds 11-13 – when coach Adam Kingsley experimented with Whitfield at half-forward for extended periods – he took 12 against Brisbane, the highest figure for the round (Eagle Tom McCarthy was the only other player in double figures). And Whitfield played on from all 12.
His starting position will be crucial on Sunday, with Champion Data statistics showing Gold Coast concedes more SuperCoach points to general defenders than any other team.
Allowing Whitfield and Lachie Ash to run free could be a disaster for the Suns as both teams try to cement their spot in the top eight.
In the second Sunday game, the Western Bulldogs will try to push into the eight when they face Richmond under the roof at Marvel Stadium.
