Graham Potter delighted to see Jarrod Bowen lead by example again for West Ham
The Hammers' captain netted for the fourth successive match – in his 200th appearance – after assisting with the game's opening goal, scored by James Ward-Prowse.
Although the relegated hosts equalised after the restart through Nathan Broadhead, Bowen restored their lead soon after, before Mohammed Kudus wrapped up the win with a goal three minutes from the end.
Potter said after the final Premier League contest of the season: 'I thought that his (Bowen) overall performance just sums up him as a person, how he performed today, the energy that he had.
'Everything that we did that was good. I thought it came through him. In and out of possession, helped the team, ran in behind, linked up, he was a real threat and everyone in the stadium could feel that when he had the ball there was a sharpness to him.
'There was a period in the first half where we lost our way a little bit and then we had to defend and then we had to suffer for about 10 or 15 minutes but apart from that I thought that we were in a good place.
'As a team we have to be better. I don't like to rely on individuals to dig you out.'
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna said his opponents showed Premier League experience and 'executed' better then his team in both boxes.
McKenna said: 'I thought it was an even game, (a) well balanced game, we did a lot of good things to compete with West Ham.
'I thought we had more chances in the game than them and we have spoken lots this year about the difference in the category of the games and I think it's probably reflective of the challenges and the level we haven't quite been able to hit.
'So I think against most of the teams in most of the matches this year we were able to compete in terms of our principles and organisation and our football between both boxes.
'We were able to get to good positions in good areas but the execution of top end players in this division…with the experience and the calibre that they have, they execute more often than ours.
'West Ham executed better than us in both boxes and they take the points.'

Premier League opts not to change rules that helped Chelsea comply with PSR
Premier League teams have chosen not to change controversial rules that allow the sale of fixed assets to companies related to a club's ownership. Despite discontent among some clubs over the rules, which have helped Chelsea to meet profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) by selling two Stamford Bridge hotels to businesses linked to their owners, no vote was taken on changing them at the league's annual general meeting in Harrogate on Wednesday. Chelsea's hotel sales were ultimately cleared by the Premier League after a lengthy assessment which concluded earlier this year. The process led to the value of the deal being restated, however, at £70.5m in Chelsea's latest accounts, down from an original £76.5m. The west London side have also sold their women's team to a related company at a value of almost £200m last year, helping the club record a net profit of £129.6m for the year ended 30 June 2024. The Guardian understands that the league was asked by some clubs to table an amendment that would prevent such deals from being included in PSR calculations in future. That proposal was ultimately removed from a series of votes on rule changes, however, after it became clear there was insufficient support amongst the totality of clubs to pass it. All clubs attended the AGM on Wednesday knowing there would be no vote. This is not the first occasion that clubs have stepped back from changing the rules. Alterations were discussed first in 2021, when the EFL had brought in tougher rules, and then last summer, but no vote was taken on either occasion. The sale of fixed assets cannot be included in revenue under Uefa's financial sustainability rules, however and the Blues are expected to have agree a potential financial settlement with European football's governing body as a result.

Arsenal in talks over Thomas Partey deal as Jorginho and Kieran Tierney depart
Partey's contract is set to expire on June 30, and the defensive midfielder has been linked with Barcelona and Juventus. The news on Partey's future came in an update shared by the Premier League runners-up thanking the out-of-contract men's and women's players who will be leaving the club at the end of the month. Italy midfielder Jorginho, who is expected to join Brazilian outfit Flamengo, had already confirmed his exit in a farewell video posted to his Instagram last week, while Tierney is returning to former club Celtic.
