Raipur: In one of the most successful security forces operation on Naxal front in Chhattisgarh, state forces had neutralized 28 Maoists, including the top most commander Basvaraju, last week.
Commenting on the encounter in a long press note, Maoists of Dandakaranya Special Zonal committee has blamed the govt for not paying heed to the repeated appeals for ceasefire and peace talks but killing a large number of cadres with huge force.
The Maoists revealed that there were 28 Maoists killed in Abujhmarh encounter, and the body of one cadre was taken by the Maoists while 27 bodies were recovered by the police.
Maoist Vikalp claimed that in last 40 days, Maoists have not taken any armed action based on the suggestion of Basvaraju who wanted to create an amicable atmosphere for peace talks.
In this encounter, from May 17 to 21, security forces had surrounded Maoists along with their senior most leader Basvaraju the general secretary of CPI (Maoists)- who carried reward of Rs 1 crore on his head in Chhattisgarh. The latest statement by Vikalp, the spokesperson of Maoists, blames the govt of feeding its troops with supplies airdropped to them and for 60 hours, surrounded Maoists were left to live without any food or water.
They have also blamed some of their cadres of ditching the movement and supporting security forces which they claim has made operation easier for police. The press note said that in last six weeks, six of their people have surrendered and they helped security forces for this operation by revealing inside information of Maoist presence.
The statement claims that their commander "BR Dada" was persuaded by his colleagues to go away from that area but he was adamant not to leave his comrades, and he stayed there till he was caught alive and killed. He said, "Out of the total of 35 people, 28 were neutralized and seven escaped alive." Police in its press note had claimed neutralizing 27 Maoists but this press note has mentioned one more casualty, whose body they managed to take away.

Earlier, on the first day of the operation, Sudhakar was killed and an automatic rifle was seized from the encounter continued through the night into Saturday, with security forces recovering additional automatic weapons from the latest gunfight. NIA chargesheets Maoist cadre for killing Army jawan in Chhattisgarh village fair ambush

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted a Maoist cadre for his involvement in the targeted killing of an Army personnel in Chhattisgarh last year, officials said on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Ashu Korsa of Bijapur in Chhattisgarh in the chargesheet filed before the NIA special court in Jagdalpur on Friday, they said. NIA investigations in the case revealed that the accused was involved in the criminal conspiracy of the CPI (Maoist), a proscribed terrorist organisation, to kill Motiram Achala, according to an official statement. Also Read: Bihar: Five children paraded naked for stealing chocolates, three people arrested "The victim was shot dead by an armed cadre of the CPI (Maoist) during a visit to the Useli village fair in Amabeda area of Kanker district with his family members on 25 February last year," said the statement issued by the NIA. It found that Korsa was an active armed cadre of the Kuyemari Area Committee of the North Bastar Division operating under the CPI (Maoist), the statement said. "He, along with another senior Maoist leader, identified Motiram Achala and killed him," it added. Korsa was arrested by the NIA in December last year in connection with the conspiracy, which was aimed at striking terror in the minds of the people of that area, the statement said.
