Bomb threats at multiple Shaw's grocery store locations on Wednesday are under investigation, authorities said.
The Canton Police Department confirmed that officers are conducting an investigation into a threat received by the Shaw's in Cobb Corner at 95 Washington Street.

'Multiple Shaw's locations in the area have received similar bomb threats,' the department wrote in a Facebook post.
Canton police urged the public to avoid the area around Cobb Corner.
'As we wait for mutual aid assistance, we ask you to avoid the area until the investigation is complete,' the department added.
Police in two New Hampshire towns were also investigating bomb threats at Shaw's stores.
Officers and a state police bomb squad swept the Shaw's in the Hooksett Village Shops in Hooksett, determing that the threat was not credible.
The Hooksett store reopned shortly after noon.

Another threat prompted the evacuation of a Shaw's on Lafayette Road in the Granite State town of North Hampton, WMUR-TV reported.

WAUSAU − A home daycare operator is facing a felony charge after a 4-month-old baby she cared for was hospitalized with a skull fracture, brain bleeding and a hemorrhage in her eye. Shawna L. Munguia, 35, of Wausau, faces a charge of physical abuse of a child recklessly causing great bodily harm. Marathon County Circuit Judge Rick Cveykus set a $2,500 cash bail June 2 during Manguia's initial appearance. She's scheduled for a hearing on June 9. According to the criminal complaint, at 12:55 a.m. May 15, a woman brought her 4-month-old daughter to a Wausau hospital after the baby began throwing up. The baby was then transferred to Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. The mother said her baby had been at an in-home daycare center run by Munguia on May 14. When the mother went to pick the baby up at 4:30 p.m. May 14, she saw light bruising on the top of the baby's head, and Munguia said a child had fallen into Munguia while Munguia was holding the baby, causing the injury, according to the complaint. A doctor told detectives the injuries could not have happened from the incident Munguia described, according to the complaint. Detectives interviewed Munguia, who told them she didn't know how the baby got the injuries. When officers said the baby couldn't have been so seriously hurt from the child falling into Munguia, she said another child had fallen on the baby 10 times, according to the complaint. Detectives showed Munguia a text message she had sent her husband stating that she was caring for a baby who wouldn't stop crying. The detective said the message sounded like Munguia was frustrated, according to the complaint. Munguia admitted she had become frustrated when all the other children were down for naps, but the baby wouldn't stop crying. She said she picked the baby up from the couch, shook her and told her to stop crying, according to the complaint. Munguia said she didn't remember how many times she shook the baby back and forth, but she didn't think it was many times. The detectives then arrested Munguia on suspicion of child abuse recklessly causing great bodily harm. The Brief Three young Wenatchee girls, ages 5, 8, and 9, were found dead on Monday after being reported missing since Friday, May 30, following a planned visitation with their father, Travis Decker. Authorities are currently searching for Travis Decker, 32, who is wanted for three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping; he is a former military member with extensive training and may pose a significant risk if approached. The girls' bodies were discovered near the Rock Island Campground, accessed by Icicle Road, after Decker's unoccupied white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck was located in the area. WENATCHEE, Wash. - Authorities are searching for the father of three young Wenatchee girls, ages 5, 8, and 9, after they were found dead on Monday. Travis Decker, 32, is wanted for three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. Decker is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts. According to authorities, he is a former military member with extensive training. FOX 13 Seattle confirmed with a spokesperson with the Washington National Guard that Decker was a member. He transferred to the organization in 2021 from the Active Component – and has been pending a disciplinary discharge for not showing up to his monthly drills. The last drill he attended was about a year ago. Travis Decker shows up in several social media posts from current and past members of the armed forces. Based on FOX 13 Seattle's review of those accounts and other social media profiles, Decker likely has advanced infantry combat training. Multiple Facebook and Instagram posts show Decker show he was an airborne paratrooper who earned his elite 'Ranger' tab – meaning he has elite wilderness evasion and survival skills. A different social media profile under his name claims he qualified as an instructor at the US Army's National Guard Warrior Training Center at Fort Benning, Georgia. Authorities are still searching for Decker. It is unknown whether he is currently armed, and he may pose a significant risk if approached. Anyone who believes they may have seen Decker since Friday, May 30, or knows his current whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately. Due to safety concerns, the public is advised not to attempt to contact or approach Decker. The three girls, ages 9, 8, and 5, were reported missing on Friday, May 30, at 9:45 p.m., after their mother told police they had not been returned following a planned visitation with Decker. Checks of local motels yielded no results, and information from the local Flock database indicated the vehicle had traveled westbound on Highway 2 from Wenatchee on May 30. On Monday, June 2, resources including Chelan County deputies, detectives, Emergency Management, and a Homeland Security helicopter joined the search. At approximately 3:45 p.m., a Chelan County deputy located Decker's unoccupied vehicle near the Rock Island Campground, accessed by Icicle Road. During an immediate search of the area, the bodies of the three missing girls were discovered. Decker was not located. The Washington State Patrol was contacted Friday night to request an AMBER Alert, but it did not meet the required criteria. On Saturday, Wenatchee Police detectives provided additional information, and an Endangered Missing Person Alert (EMPA) was issued. Letter campaign advances for Pottsville man held by ICE
POTTSVILLE — The friend of a man detained by ICE is leading a social media campaign to help him by gathering reference letters. On Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Kevin Medina is also offering to notarize the letters at no charge. The public is invited to stop by Fratello's Bistro, 420 Nichols St., during those times to get their reference letters notarized on behalf of Ruben Rojas-Vargas. Ruben Rojas-Vargas, 32, who has been in the U.S. for 16 years, was arrested May 30 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. He is being detained at an ICE facility in Phillipsburg, Centre County, according to the Online Detainee Locator System . Medina, a family friend, notary and insurance agent, started a Facebook appeal asking for letters in support of Rojas-Vargas. Those letters must be notified, however, so Medina is offering to notarize letters free of charge. This week he plans to give them to an immigration lawyer. Any supporters unable to attend Wednesday can send notarized letters to kevinm@ or they can contact him to arrange a meeting place. Medina took to Facebook last weekend to share his friend's story and ask for support. The post has 58,700 views, which surprised him. 'I simply wanted to share with the community and see how they can support him,' Medina said. So far, 85 people have committed to sign letters in support for Rojas-Vargas, a native of Mexico. The young father was going to be fitted for an ankle monitoring device after pleading guilty to a DUI from last year when ICE agents arrested him. 'We all make mistakes,' Medina said Tuesday about his friend's situation. Meanwhile, Pottsville Police Chief John Morrow said Monday he was unaware that ICE agents had taken Rojas-Vargas into custody until he saw Facebook posts. On Tuesday, Schuylkill County Sheriff Groody said he also was unaware that Rojas-Vargas had been arrested, and believes the ICE arrest is the first in the county. While not all comments on social media have been positive, Medina said the support Rojas-Vargas is receiving is heartwarming. The other comments are heartbreaking but not unexpected.
