Ukraine: Kharkiv region reports major overnight attacks with injuries
Overnight Russian drone attacks injured 15 people, including four children, in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, regional military governor Oleh Syniehubov reported via Telegram on Thursday.
The entire Kharkiv region, which lies directly on the border with Russia, was attacked with dozens of drones and glide bombs, Syniehubov said.
"Civil infrastructure was damaged and destroyed," he said. In Kharkiv, 11 residential blocks, numerous cars and two schools were damaged, he said.
The strikes reportedly targeted nine locations across the region, leaving a total of 16 people injured.
The Kharkiv region has been the focus of sustained attacks in recent days, resulting in casualties and widespread damage.
Elsewhere in the country, the civil protection authorities in the southern Odessa region said a major fire destroyed warehouses. There were no injuries reported.
Ukraine has been warding off Russian forces since a full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
