Honor nature at the International Rose & Wine Fest in Greenwood/Shreveport
GREENWOOD, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Enjoy the beauty of nature for an entire weekend of entertainment. The International Rose & Wine Festival returns, thanks to The Social Circle of Louisiana, paying homage to the historic association of wine and roses. Free bonsai exhibition showcases ancient art with modern twist French vineyards traditionally included rose bushes at the ends of rows—not just for looks but for functionality. Notoriously sensitive, rose bushes often declined in health before neighboring plants, serving as an early alert system to diseases and pests. Rose thorns also served growers, providing defenses to keep animals away. Taste of the Fest starts the festivities at Vine Books & Vinyl on Friday, May 9. Attendees will be treated to complimentary cocktails and curated hors d'oeuvres during a meet-and-greet with tastemakers, regional influencers, and brand partners. Saturday, May 10 features Sips and Stems and A Lovely Day: The Fashion Show. Sips and Stems takes place at 3 p.m., also at Vine Books & Vinyl. It features a bouquet bar where you can style your own bouquet. There are also bottomless mimosas and live music. The environment is designed to encourage creativity and conversation. A Lovely Day takes place at 6 p.m. Designer Latasha V. Henderson curates the fashion show and 'blends high style with soulful expression.' More about Our Environment The Grand Tasting concludes the festival on Sunday, June 8, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The American Rose Center in Greenwood. On 'The Most Beautiful Day of the Year,' guests will sip wines and spirits from around the world, enjoy gourmet food vendors, and listen to live R&B performances and DJ sets—all while surrounded by thousands of blooming roses.
