Kate Middleton shares hand-drawn portraits by her and her children
Looks like the royal family has some budding artists in the making.
On Monday, the official social media accounts of Kate Middleton and Prince William shared four portraits created by the Princess of Wales and her children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — during a family art session for the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
Princess Kate and each of the young royals put their own artistic spin on family portraiture.
The drawings apparently by 6-year-old Prince Louis and 9-year-old Princess Charlotte were colorful and vibrant, while the illustration seemingly by 11-year-old Prince George of his mother was more detailed. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales joined in on the fun, sketching what seemed to be Prince Louis with his eyes closed.
The drawings were a part of the royal foundation's 'Shaping Us Framework' initiative, which highlights the role that creativity plays in childhood development. The Princess of Wales launched the Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021.
'These skills are key throughout our lives, shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us,' the post sharing the portraits said.
'Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and — most importantly — having lots of fun together!"
While the young royals' portraits may not be hanging in a gallery just yet, they're bound to be less divisive than the official portrait of King Charles.
