Chrissie Swan's shock confession as she admits to four-year secret: 'I'm tired of hiding'
Chrissie Swan has spilled the beans on a secret she has been hiding for four years.
The Nova star joined colleagues Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald, Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli, on their Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie show on Thursday to make her shock confession.
The former Big Brother star, 51, revealed she has been dealing with the effects of a midlife crisis.
'Here's the thing, midlife crisis, right? I recommend them to everybody,' Chrissie began.
'Something has happened and I want to know, from your standpoint, if this is a new evolution of my midlife crisis or if I'm just... being the person that I wanted to be as a teenager?'
Admitting she was 'four years deep' into her midlife crisis, Chrissie added it was something she welcomed.
'I think it's like your whole world opens up into a glittering opportunity,' she said.
'That's why I don't really like the word crisis because that implies there's a problem. It should be renamed "midlife awakening".'
Wippa then suggested that Chrissie may have misdiagnosed her 'condition'.
'I'm not a doctor but I would suggest you've been completely nuts since the day you were born,' he joked.
It was an assessment with which Chrissie agreed, adding she was keen to embrace her 'nuttiness'.
'I can't hide. I'm exhausted from hiding the fact that I'd be nuts. I've just gotta be nuts and make no apologies for it,' she said.
Chrissie then admitted her midlife crisis had manifested in her buying things that she missed out on during her youth.
She asked Fitzy and Wippa to rattle off the items of clothing she was wearing, which included a Benetton jumper, a Swatch watch and a pair of Reebok sneakers.
'I am wearing classic '80s things. These were huge in 1988,' she said.
'Is this just the next phase of my midlife crisis or am I doing all this stuff that I couldn't do in 1988 because I was only working two mornings a week at Baker's Delight?'
'Maybe you're just angry you missed that period, so now you're trying to bring back 1988?' Wippa surmised.
Chrissie's admission comes after she shared a remarkable sobriety milestone in February, admitting her decision to put down the bottle was the best she's ever made.
She posted a short video that featured what appeared to be a clip art image of a sobriety chip featuring the phrase '4 years sober time'.
Captioning the celebratory post, Chrissy admitted that she does not miss indulging in alcohol.
'Four years no booze today,' Chrissy wrote.
'One thing I have learned is this: there is not a single thing that alcohol makes better.
'It is still the best decision I have ever made (and followed through) for myself.'
The Nova radio star revealed in 2021 that she quit drinking alcohol following Melbourne's harsh 112-day lockdown in 2020.
Chrissie has also lost a reported 90kg in three years and has .

Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman join Australia SailGP team as co-owners
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman become co-owners of the Australia SailGP team on Thursday. The 'Deadpool & Wolverine' stars joined driver and CEO Tom Slingsby in leading the team's rebrand after several successful seasons, winning three championships in its four seasons. The team will be called the BONDS Flying Roos, with the Australian underwear company BONDS as its title partner. 'We're incredibly excited to set sail together in this new adventure," Reynolds and Jackman said in a joint statement released through SailGP. "Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country, as well as being an avid fan of sailing. He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride. Apologies in advance to Australia. No comment on whether we're writing this in our BONDS. No further questions.' It's the latest sports venture for Reynolds, who along with fellow Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney is a co-owner of Wrexham, one of the world's oldest soccer clubs. Reynolds and McElhenney were also part of an investment group that acquired Colombian club La Equidad earlier this year. The BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team is expected to make its debut at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix starting June 7. Slingsby, an Olympic gold medalist, said in a release that Jackman and Reynolds bring 'unmatched star power, a love for storytelling, and a sharp sense of (humor) that fits perfectly with our team." "With BONDS joining as our Title Partner and the launch of the BONDS Flying Roos," Slingsby added, "we're building something distinctly Australian; a team driven by spirit, resilience, and national pride.' ___

Fans of the most recent Aussie series watched as Awhina and Adrian were paired together. 5 5 However, from the moment they said 'I do' the ex-couple bickered and argued. Months on from when filming on MAFS wrapped, Awhina now appeared to confirm she's seeing her co-star. And even more so now, with Instagram official snaps shared on their socials. The pair enjoyed a cosy date night at a place named The Garden in Perth recently, and snapped some very romantic photos in the process. Both in black, they posed for a mirror selfie that saw stunning Awhina looking forwards, while Billy placed his arm around her front and she held onto it. She said: 'I'll keep this one 🤭' as the caption, sending the rumour mill into overdrive in the process. Awhina shared a string of date night snaps in the carousel, as they enjoyed small plates and red wine while dining out together. 'Adrian punching the air right now 😂,' one person responded in the comments, referencing her ex. Another person wrote: 'Yusss, I love how he is with your son. As a mum that's the ultimate most attractive attribute.' MAFS groom forced to deny cheating accusations after bride claims he had sex with another woman during show filming Someone else simply put: 'I am living for this ❤️.' The telling post comes after Awhina was spotted looking glam at a horse racing event in Perth. During the video, Englishman Billy - who starred on MAFS with his ex Sierah - makes an appearance. Awhina captioned the video: "Our exes ate a plate of meat, but who really ate?" The ex-bride's clip has sent fans into a meltdown as they flooded her with replies. One said: "Billy and Awhina, Jamie and Elliott. the experts got it wrong and should have had them paired from the start." A second said: "Experts really got this season wrong in the matches. Billy now with Awhina, Jamie with Elliot. They are all so happy now." "Can I just say when I watched mafs I literally said before the scandal that Billy and awhina were made for each other …..
