Racing Heavy MAVTV Getting New Owners, New Look, New Name
MAVTV is getting a new owner and a renewed emphasis on racing content.
Media outlet RACER has purchased MAVTV and is renaming it RACER Network. The network boasts a TV schedule it says will top 300 live events in 2025.
Included in its programming are DTM, British Touring Cars, Pikes Peak, European Le Mans Series, FIM Speedway, FIM World Superbikes, AMA Arenacross, Australian Supercars, Race of Champions, Crandon Off-Road World Championships, Prodigy Racing League (virtual to real world racing).
Much like Speedvision and later Speed TV catered to grassroots racing and car culture from 1995 until 2005, RACER Network will continue to offer live racing as well as coverage of car culture events such as the GAA Classic Car Auction in North Carolina, Vicari Live Car Auction in Mississippi, and the Rolex Monterey (Calif.) Motorsports Reunion.
Expect the complete rollout to occur over the next few months, with branding and logos to start appearing with today's announcement.

Seeking Pikes Peak Record, Ford Ditches F-150 SuperTruck for New Super Mustang Mach-E
There are few races globally each year that hold such historic legacies and general allure as the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The 'race to the clouds' is run annually on a public road that snakes up a literal mountain, and it holds a tight grip on manufacturers looking to show just how good their motorsports engineers are. Last year, Romain Dumas took the win in the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck but missed out beating Volkswagen's record of 7 minutes, 57 seconds in the ID.R, set in 2018 (and which was also driven by Dumas). For 2025, Dumas returns with Ford yet again with one goal and a new car. Or, rather, a new SUV: the Super Mustang Mach-E. 0:00 / 0:00 You'd think that Dumas would be content with holding the Pikes Peak record, but race car drivers are a finicky bunch and usually don't settle for 'good enough.' That's why Dumas continues to drive up Pikes Peak with a rival brand like Ford. He wants to beat the mountain, again, for that next hit of ecstasy knowing he's set a new, seemingly impossible record to break. It's also why Ford has hired him—the automaker knows he's one of the best going up that mountain thanks to a record that has stood for nearly a decade now. I Now Ford recognizes he needs a new ride, so this year, he's piloting something a bit closer to a car than a truck or van. The Mustang Mach-E is a wild looking creation, and a big step beyond the 2023 SuperVan 4.2 racer and Ford F-150 SuperTruck. The Mach-E also looks to continue the all-electric domination of Pikes Peak; since VW ran the ID.R to the current record, no ICE-powered vehicle has broken it. Details on the Super Mustang Mach-E are scarce right now, since all we have is an Instagram post from Ford introducing it. An all-new racing vehicle, it appears to carry over little from the SuperTruck or even the SuperVan 4.2. The entire aerodynamics package has changed, with larger diffuser tunnels exiting the rear. The rear wing has gone back to a more traditional race car design with endplates over the curved, body joining structure. Even the front spoiler has changed with thicker end plates and new features. But the biggest change of all is using the Mach-E body. While just as much of an interpretation as the Lightning SuperTruck was to the F-150, the Mach-E is much closer to looking like its road car version. Much like the NASCAR EV prototype, however, the Super Mach-E is more coupe like than four-door SUV of the street legal electric crossover. This has reduced the overall frontal area and looks to have possibly lowered the overall profile versus both SuperVan and SuperTruck. Ford has promised more details closer to the race, but 2025 is looking like a massive effort by the Blue Oval to give Dumas every chance to get that dopamine rush of taking the overall win and the record again.

Ford Is Taking On Pikes Peak With This Insane Mustang Mach-E
Ford is finally doing it. After taking an electric van and an electric truck to Pikes Peak in back-to-back years, the Blue Oval is now going to attack the iconic hill climb with a Super Mustang Mach-E. Ford provided very few details about the wild-looking electric vehicle. It's clearly a Mustang Mach-E in style, but it rides much lower to the ground. It has an utterly bonkers rear wing hanging over an equally ridiculous rear diffuser. Sandwiched between the two massive aero elements are the crossover's tri-bar taillights and a perforated insert. Photo by: Ford The front of the EV has a massive front splitter that matches the audaciousness of the rear, and it looks much flatter and wider than the production Mach-E. If this is like Ford's other Super EVs, this is likely a Mach-E body on top of a dedicated racing chassis. Ford says the EV can create 6,125 pounds of downforce, surpassing the other two. The SuperVan 4.2 created 4,400 lbs of downforce, while the SuperTruck made 6,000 lbs . We don't know how much power the Super Mach-E is making, but if it's like the other two, it should have 1,400 horsepower on tap and three electric motors. This year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is on June 22. When Ford campaigned the SuperVan, it set a new record , beating the previous one by nearly 37 seconds. Ford didn't say if it wanted to break another one this year. 'If It Doesn't Stay, it Will Imperil What We Do in Marshall.' Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Gains Despite Battery Factory Threat
Is there trouble ahead at legacy automaker Ford (F)? It may be so, as new signs of declining federal funding for electric vehicles may be about to hit Ford at the battery factory level. Especially given one of the big battery factories Ford has at Marshall. Investors took the news oddly well, though, and sent shares surging upward nearly 2.5% in Friday afternoon's trading. Confident Investing Starts Here: We know that the government has been looking to save a few trillion bucks ever since the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) got fired up in earnest. And while it has found a whole lot of potential savings—savings that, even now, are looking to be actively codified into law—there are always other places to look. And production tax credits for electric vehicle batteries may be on the chopping block next. That, in turn—notes Ford's executive chair Bill Ford—would '…imperil what we do in Marshall,' referring to the battery plant in Marshall, Michigan. Ford elaborated 'We made a certain investment based upon a policy that was in place. It's not fair to change policies after the expenditure has been made.' Indeed, Ford is not without a point, but Ford must keep in mind that that policy was made by an administration that no longer exists. Tackling Pikes Peak Annually, Ford has a particular goal in mind for its electric vehicles, a demonstration of their sheer capability known as the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Ford has been in on the action for the last three years, and delivered some impressive wins. But this year might be the most impressive yet, as Ford brings a Mach-E Mustang to the hill climb event, and it is looking pretty sharp. Ford revealed back in January that the Pikes Peak run would be a Mustang Mach-E event, and the early word out about the car intended for that run. Reports note that the nose design, and much of the front, is clearly reminiscent of a Mach-E, but the rest of the car has been fundamentally redesigned for the event. Packing a front splitter, a rear wing, and a rear 'ground effect tunnel,' this car has been given the full treatment to give it the best chance at Pikes Peak. The combined effect yields—brace yourself—6,125 pounds of downforce. We will see how this does once the event concludes in late June. Is Ford Stock a Good Buy Right Now? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on F stock based on two Buys, 12 Holds and three Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 15.75% loss in its share price over the past year, the average F price target of $9.71 per share implies 6.95% downside risk.
