ABERDEEN have won the race to sign Cove Rangers goalie Nick Suman.
The Scottish Cup-winning Dons will add the 25-year-old Aussie to their ranks next month when the transfer window opens.

Suman, who played in the A-League for Western Sydney Wanderers, was also targeted by Dundee United, Hibs and Motherwell for a summer move.
But Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin has pipped those Premiership rivals to his signature.
Suman will join as back-up to Hampden hero Dimitar Mitov, replacing Celtic-bound Ross Doohan in the Dons' squad.
The 6'4" stopper has grabbed attention on the back of his performances for Paul Hartley's side at the Balmoral Stadium.

Suman, who has dual Aussie and UK citizenship, started out with Western Sydney as a 17-year-old and early performances caught the eye of Rangers and Brighton, who took him on trial.
The keeper's move to Britain didn't materialise at that stage, but after a season at Macarthur FC decided to gamble and head for Europe.
Cove boss Hartley picked him up for a trial period, handed him a two-year deal and he's been the best goalie in League One during his two seasons there.
Suman's current contract is up this summer so Aberdeen have pounced, with a deal set to be confirmed when the window re-opens.

Doohan is also moving on a free to join Dons' beaten Scottish Cup final opponents.
Third-choice Scott Bain will leave Parkhead in the summer in search of regular gametime.

So Brendan Rodgers needs a new reserve keeper and another name to fulfil the homegrown quota for the European squad.
Doohan will serve as backup to Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.

Meet the new Rangers, same as the old Rangers as so-called revolution leaves rivals sniggering

Andy Newport takes the calls ahead of the start of a new era for the Light Blues The Light Blue legions are hoping to see the first signs of a Rangers revolution on Monday as new boss Russell Martin meets his squad for the first time. Trouble is, the group of players he's hoping will provide a fresh outlook at Ibrox looks remarkably similar to the side that failed miserably last term. ‌ Max Aarons is set to follow Lyall Cameron in through the door but that's it so far where new arrivals are concerned. ‌ Joe Graham, Garrowhill, said: 'Russell Martin will meet-up with his leftovers this coming week and a lot of empty spaces to fill. He will have to move fast as it has been slow, slow, quick, quick, slow on the recruiting front so far. 'I am sure he will be up and running with plenty of quality players in place by then to kick off the main challenge, that is knocking Celtic off their perch, and delivering title 56 in his first season. 'However he has much more to do on the European front as that is so agonisingly too close for comfort. If he can manage success there, then we have got the right man in place this time.' Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, added: 'It was hard to disagree with the Record jurists in Saturday's paper - it's a big ask for Rangers to take the league when they are still stuck with a number of last season's flops. Time is against them to put a new side together with the right players. 'Fraser Wilson said they need five new signings, from centre half to centre forward. There's the rub, these guys will have no time to find their feet and must hit the ground running from the start. The reality is Celtic's side is already in place." Stephen Mulhearn said: "So the big Rangers revolution starts with bringing in yet another player on loan for the start of the season. Meanwhile, Celtic are signing a Swedish international at a bargain price. ‌ "Sorry once again there doesn't look to be a title race again this season. If anything Rangers are weaker after losing key players like Vaclav Cerny, Ianis Hagi and potentially top goalscorer Cyriel Dessers, who also looks likely to jump ship.' Alan Flett responded to one of Saturday's callers: 'Kevin O'Reily says that Celtic have a biscuit tin full of chunky KitKats, but the problem is that they're only half the size they used to be!' ‌ Meanwhile, Bomber-gate continues to rumble on after Rangers were fined for John Brown's SFA corruption rant. John Stuart, Blantyre, said: 'What planet are Stuart McLeod, Chris Lowe and the other Rangers fans on? Since when did Irvine Welsh or punters attending a Celtic AGM need to abide by the rules of the SFA? That's free speech for you. 'Brown is a paid Rangers employee and subject to the rules of the governing body. Deal with it, pay the fine and discipline your employee. ‌ 'You have more to be concerned about as the most successful club in Scottish Football will leave them in their wake again season. Maybe they are getting their excuses of persecution, victimisation and corruption tee'd up early as their excuses for future failings.' Scott Gowers, Edinburgh, said: 'We all know that Rangers' goal against Hibs was not awarded and an excuse was accepted. Why then did VAR not then award Rangers a penalty as Raskin was clearly being pulled? 'I know that the excuse was accepted but the damning TV evidence begs the question. What will the excuse be for not awarding the penalty? There can be no excuses on this.'

Watch as Celtic-linked defender scores first J-League goal

The Herald revealed last week that the Scottish Premiership champions are working on a deal for the 23-year-old, who primarily plays as a left-sided centre-back but can also provide cover at left full-back. Read more: His team travelled to face Avispa Fukuoka in the Japanese top flight this weekend, and although they eventually lost by three goals to two, Inamura opened the scoring four minutes in with an emphatic strike: Hayato Inamura scored for Albirex Niigata a moment ago. — Yuri (@yurixlax) June 21, 2025 It was the defender's first goal of his senior football career. After a potential move for Inamura emerged last week, it has since been reported that Celtic are interested in another J-League talent. Indeed, The Scottish Sun reports that the Parkhead club, along with a host of other European sides, have watched Kawasaki Frontale striker Shin Yamada ahead of a potential summer move. The 25-year-old scored 19 times in the Japanese top flight last season and helped his side reach the final of the AFC Champions League, where they eventually lost out to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli. He is rated at around the £1.5m mark. The J-League has been a well-utilised market by Celtic in recent years, with Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi all excelling during their time in Scotland.

Here is your Sunday lunchtime transfer bulletin as Celtic secure a new signing while eyeing up the Japanese market, Dundee United close in on a loan signing and Rangers target responds directly to Ibrox interest... Celtic win race for star Celtic have won the race to sign Benjamin Nygren after clinching a £1.2million deal for the Nordsjælland winger. That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who reported on Saturday night that the Sweden international has agreed a four-year contract with the Scottish champions with the option of a further year. The 23-year-old attacker scored 16 times in 32 matches for the Danish club last season with his form earning him a maiden call-up to the Sweden squad, where he has already notched two goals in four appearances. Nygren, who was available on a cut-price deal due to only having six months left on his contract, had also been attracting interest from Anderlecht, Copenhagen and the MLS. (Photo by) | Getty Images United close in on striker loan Dundee United are close to securing a loan move for Bosnia international striker Said Hamulic. The 24-year-old, who was linked with Celtic two years ago, is currently on the books of Ligue 1 side Toulouse, who paid £1.7million to sign him in January 2023 following a prolific spell with Polish outfit Stal Mielec. A move to the Scottish Premiership could now be on the cards, with reports claiming the 24-year-old is destined for a season-long loan move to Tannadice. Hamulic has had a nomadic career to date, with spells in the Netherlands, Lithuania and Poland before arriving in France. He has struggled to make his mark with Les Violets, however, managing just six substitute appearances and being sent out on loan to Vitesse Arnhem, Lokomotiv Moscow and Widzew Lodz, over the past two years, failing to find the net for all three clubs. Japanese duo on Celtic radar Celtic have raided the Japanese market to great effect in recent times, particularly with the signings of Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate, who have each played a major role in a trophy-laden era for the club. There have also been some arrivals who were less successful with Tomoki Iwata, Yuki Kobayashi and Yosuke Ideguchi seeing their time at Parkhead cut short after failing to hold down a first-team place. Now Celtic could be set to go down the Japanese route again with speculation linking them to not one, but two new arrivals from the J-League. Reports emerged last week of interest in 23-year-old Japanese defender Hayato Inamura, who is currently playing for Albirex Niigata and primarily plays as a left-sided centre-back but can also provide cover at left full-back. Now a new report this weekend has also credited Celtic with a move for Kawasaki Frontale frontman Shin Yamada. The 25-year-old striker netted 32 goals in 119 appearances for the same club that Celtic recruited Hatate from in 2021. Rangers have been linked with Westerlo forward Matija Frigan. (Photo by BRUNO FAHY/Belga/AFP via Getty Images) | Belga/AFP via Getty Images Rangers target responds to Ibrox interest Croatian striker Matija Frigan has responded to rumoured interest from Rangers by insisting a move to Ibrox would be perfect for him. The 22-year-old is currently with Belgian club club Westerlo - who last week appointed former Ibrox coach Issame Charai as their new manager - where he has netted 18 goals in 69 appearances. Hamburg have also been linked with a move for the frontman, who has been called up the Croatian national squad in the past but has yet to be capped. "Rangers? That style of league would suit me,"
