Radhika Das announces nine-city India tour

UK-based kirtan artist and bhakti yoga teacher Radhika Das will tour nine Indian cities this November with Silence in Sound , a series of live mantra meditation gatherings. The tour, which spans New Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore, Bengaluru and Mumbai, will blend traditional devotional singing with storytelling and guided meditation. The events aim to offer accessible spiritual experiences rooted in ancient Vedic practices. Each two-hour session will feature call-and-response mantra chanting, supported by an ensemble mixing classical Indian and contemporary instruments, including harmonium, mridanga, saxophone and bass guitar. Radhika Das has previously performed at international festivals and venues including Bhakti Fest, World Yoga Festival, The British Museum and Union Chapel. With more than 50 million digital streams, his global work has centred on using sound as a medium for connection and reflection. 'This is a homecoming,' said Das ahead of the tour. 'These chants have ancient roots here. My goal is to create a space where people can reconnect with that legacy.' The performances are designed for a wide audience, requiring no prior experience in meditation or chanting. Organisers note that the carefully selected venues are chosen for their acoustic quality and spiritual resonance. The India tour marks a significant expansion of Radhika Das's work in creating immersive spiritual spaces that move beyond traditional frameworks, with a focus on inclusivity, emotional connection and collective introspection. ‘Amitabh Bachchan was very rude, didn't even look at me': Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain actor recalls being ignored by Big B after being treated ‘like a son'

Amitabh Bachchan has been working in the movies for over 50 years now and he has worked with actors and technicians across many generations. Recently, actor Saanand Verma, who is known for the TV show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, shared an incident of working with Big B and said that he found him to be quite rude when he met him for the second time, which was completely unlike his behaviour the first time. Speaking to Hindi Rush, Saanand revealed that Big B was very warm and affectionate the first time they met. He said, 'I have spoken to many stars but I didn't think much about them. But I felt Amitabh Bachchan's aura when I was shooting Kaun Banega Crorepati's promo. The first time I met him… he was like… I felt like I am Abhishek Bachchan. I felt like I am his son. We spoke for three hours.' The actor, however, revealed that the second time they worked together, Big B was cold to him and didn't even acknowledge him properly. 'However, the second time I met him to shoot an advertisement, he was very rude. After completing the shoot, I went and told him, 'I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with you twice.' But he didn't even look at me, he kept staring at a painting and said, 'Bhagwan kare apko tibara mile (May God give you a third chance also),'' he said. Despite the cold interaction, Saanand admitted that he still respects the actor immensely. He said, 'He gave me a lot of attention the first time and ignored me completely the second time, that contrast was noticeable. I love and respect Amit ji a lot. I don't think there is another actor like him in Hindi film industry but yes nobody is friends in the film industry.' In a recent interaction with The Lallantop, veteran actor Paresh Rawal also shared his perspective on relationships in the Hindi film industry. He said, 'Film industry mein colleague hote hain, theatre mein dost hote hain, aur school mein jigar jaan dost hote hain. But film ke andar colleague hote hain. Mere dost jinko main with respect bol saku toh Om Puri sahab the, Naseer bhai hain, Johnny Lever hain. Ye hain jinko main dost bol saku (In the film industry, you have colleagues; in theatre, you have friends; and in school, you have your closest buddies. But within the film world, they're mostly colleagues. The people I can truly call my friends — and say so with respect — are Om Puri sahab, Naseer bhai, and Johnny Lever. These are the ones I can genuinely call friends).'
