Tech review: IMILAB EC6 Panorama Spotlight Camera provides a smart way to keep your home secure
My first confession with the IMILAB EC6 Panorama Spotlight Camera is that as of yet I haven't installed it anywhere physically on my house. Down to sheer tardiness on my behalf and not having the time to get the drill and ladders out.
I have, however, given it a trial run to see exactly what it has to offer. The main thing being that it has a rotatable 180° panoramic camera.
It also has in-built tracking that follows whoever is coming up your drive or climbing your back fence. Security is so important to everyone and it's security devices that can give people that all-important peace of mind.
The camera has a lot of tech packed in and one of the great features is the ability to have two-way conversations with people at the door, the same as with a doorbell camera.
Unlike the doorbell cameras, this has a really high resolution 3.5k live view with full colour night vision. It can also be used as an indoor camera.
The in-built detection software offers a further deterrent for intruders with motion-detected light flashes. If you want, you can also record a message to play, to make it seem like you are at home. I will admit we did record daft messages at first.
Customisation is a big thing with this camera. The app lets you take full control of things like playback, recording, and setting the target areas for detection.
Everything that is recorded can be stored either via a subscription package, or with a micro SD card, the choice is yours.
You can also link the camera up to Alexa or Google Voice Assistant, again giving you a variety of voice control options. Connection can be wired or wireless and you can keep an eye on everything at your home via the app, no matter where you are.
The word smart cam is a very apt one because there is a lot of intelligence built into this and it feels like much more than just a security cam. That's something that really surprised me, home security is certainly hurtling along at quite a rate.
The IMILAB EC6 Panorama Spotlight Camera is available for £149.99 from Amazon.
Reviews
"The camera has an audio problem, with the setting at 100% at 5 m you can't hear the alarm anymore, the sound is so low that it is impossible to communicate with the person when the camera is 3 m from the ground, it has a big manufacturing problem with the audio system."
"I want to recommend this spotlight camera, provides high quality recordings, waterproof, it serves its purpose. As described, we can rotate the camera 180 degrees from where it was being installed. The images and videos captured are really of high quality one. I opt for continued recording using a micro-SD card, it captures every event like any vehicle or person detected.
"No hassle of paying an extra subscription. Installing the Xiaomi app, linking the device was very easy. Once I turn on the device it automatically directs to format the micro-SD card to match the device. On the installation part, the package includes mounting kit which helps for easy installation. Even though I connected using Wi-Fi, it has a provision for wired network too."

Ninja's 'perfect' pizza oven that cooks 12-inch pizzas in minutes is now £110 off
The Ninja Artisan Pizza Oven with Cover is now £219.95 down from £324.98 at QVC - it's cheaper than Ninja website and Amazon. As the summer season draws near, it brings with it the prospect of garden parties, alfresco dining, and enjoying the sunshine with delectable food. One essential that most people crave during this time is a pizza, but ordering a takeaway for the entire family can be costly. This is why pizza ovens are becoming a must-have item in gardens and homes. However, finding the right one can be challenging, especially one that won't empty your wallet. Fortunately, shoppers are in luck as they can snap up the Ninja Artisan Pizza Oven with Cover from QVC for £219.95, reduced from £324.98 - which is also cheaper than on the Ninja website (£229.99) and Amazon (£229). New QVC shoppers can also get an extra £5 off with the code FIVE4U, bringing the total down to £214.95. The Ninja pizza oven allows shoppers to whip up delicious 12-inch pizzas in mere minutes. It's electric, so there's no need for flames or gas - simply plug it in and start cooking. With five pizza settings such as Thin Crust, New York and Deep Dish, shoppers can perfect their favourite style every time. It even comes with a pizza peel, stone, and a cover to keep it safe outdoors, reports the Mirror. This oven does more than just pizza, as shoppers can bake bread, air fry meals, and prove dough - all outside. It also heats up to 370 degrees and fits a full meal, like chicken wings or chips. There's a window so customers can watch their food cook. Simple controls also make it easy to use, and it's ideal for gardens, patios or balconies. If the Ninja option doesn't tick all the boxes, customers could consider the Argos Ooni Koda 12 Gas-Powered Pizza Oven, priced £299, boasting quick gas ignition, 15-minute cooking readiness, and 500-degree temperature capabilities - resulting in 60-second pizza cooking times. Alternatively, Vonhaus's more budget-friendly Outdoor Pizza Oven, costing £129.99, offers portability, accommodating 12-inch pizzas and rapid heating of up to 350 degrees within 15 minutes. On QVC's platform, buyers have awarded the Ninja pizza oven an average of 4.7 stars out of 5. Comments include: "So quick and easy and the pizzas were lovely. Perfectly cooked every time Also tried the air fryer function and it was to the usual NINJA standard too." One reviewer expressed being 'very impressed', as it exceeded their expectations. They said: "Big enough for a 12-inch pizza but small enough to easily move. The oven heats up fairly quickly, but then retains the heat if making several pizzas." Another said: "Exactly as expected. Feels solid, makes you feel confident it can produce the desired heat, safely and with ease." However, one user noted: "One thing I would say is that the pizza was a bit too dark for me and I've heard others say the same." Another customer commented: "Amazing! Made gluten-free from frozen bases and normal ones from fresh bases and they were the best pizzas we have had in a long time! Toppings - less is more for sure! Really impressed - 3 pizzas in under 15 mins!". The Ninja Artisan Pizza Oven with Cover can be found at its lowest price on QVC.
