Man, 19, charged in fatal stabbing outside Calgary bar
More than a week after a Calgary man was stabbed to death during a brawl outside the Commonwealth Bar and Stage, police have arrested and charged a man with second-degree murder.
On Monday, police said 'an exhaustive investigation' led them to arrest and charge 19-year-old Drayden Leroy Nayneecassum-Toto in connection with the death of 21-year-old Jonas Robert Nedd. The victim died after being stabbed in the early morning hours of April 26.
Following the fight in a parking lot in the 700 block of 10 Ave. S.W., police arrested four people, but they were released a short time later without any charges being laid.

During their investigation, officers said they spoke to more than a dozen witnesses, reviewed 'countless hours' of video from CCTV cameras and put out a public plea to help locate the owners of a dark Tesla that police believed could aid in the investigation.

Vancouver police are looking for a man suspected of breaking into 16 homes in the city's west side since January. Police said the suspect, believed to be a man in his 30s, enters homes through unlocked doors late at night or early in the morning, often when people are home. 'This brazen behaviour is concerning, because it's occurring when people are at home in their beds,' Visintin said. 'Although nobody has been hurt, the fact this suspect is entering homes at night is frightening.' Police said they have increased patrols in the neighbourhood, canvassed for video and witnesses, and taken other investigative steps. 29-year-old man presumed drowned in Cabin Lake within Cypress Provincial Park
A search will begin Monday for a missing man who is presumed drowned in Cabin Lake within Cypress Provincial Park. West Vancouver police said emergency services were called to the park at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday after a man was swimming across the lake with his fiancée when he began to struggle. The man has not been identified but police said he is a 29-year-old from Burnaby. 'There were several independent witnesses who saw the young man in distress and observed his companion attempting to assist him,' Sgt. Chris Bigland with West Vancouver police said in a release. Police in Ontario town find car tied to fatal hit and run set ablaze
Police in Hanover, Ont., have released an image of a 'destroyed' vehicle which they say had been set on fire shortly after a fatal hit and run in the small Ontario community last week. On Wednesday at around 5:20 p.m., police said emergency services were dispatched to the entrance to Hanover Park after a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian had been reported. Police said 66-year-old Hanover resident Sheila Lamont was crossing the street when she was hit by a vehicle, which fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Lamont was transported to an area hospital by paramedics where she later died due to her injuries. 'Shortly before the collision it was determined the suspect vehicle had travelled along Concession 2 SDR in the former Brant Township, also known as Southline,' a release from police read. Deputy Chief George Hebblethwaite told Global News on Monday morning that a tip had led them to find the destroyed vehicle in the brush near Morry's Trailer Sales on Sideroad 25. 'We were speaking with someone who we had been given the name of, and that person turned out to have some information which led us to the car,' he said. Police believe the fire occurred within a couple of hours of the initial crash and that the vehicle has been examined by OPP forensic officers. 'There is a person that we are seeking,' he explained, adding they expect to make an announcement Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Hanover is a town of around 8,000 people in Grey County about 100 kilometres north of Kitchener.
