Slipknot Perform 'Gematria (The Killing Name),' Song Corey Taylor Thought They'd Never Play Live: Watch

Slipknot finally performed the song 'Gematria (The Killing Name)' on Friday night (February 28th) at the kickoff of their Knotfest Australia mini-tour in Melbourne. The track from 2008's All Hope Is Gone is one that frontman Corey Taylor previously believed the band would 'never play' live.
'Gematria (The Killing Name)' was the third song of the set, following favorites '(sic)' and 'People = Shit.' Overall, Slipknot played 14 songs, with 'Psychosocial' being the only other tune represented from All Hope Is Gone.
In 2023, during an interview with the All Things Music podcast (as transcribed by Revolver), Taylor explained that if it were up to him, the band would've already performed 'Gematria (The Killing Name),' but that his bandmates weren't too keen on playing the song.
'I've always wanted to open a concert with 'Gematria,'' he explained. 'There are certain odiums around the way that that song was created and recorded, which is why some of the guys in the band are like, 'Fuck that, we'll never play it.''
He continued, '[The reason] isn't even sentimental…It's resentment. But for me, man, it's such a fucking burner that I just love that song. I can listen to that shit all fucking day. It just comes screaming out of no-fucking-where. But it'll never happen. Unless the Pope ends up opening up for Slipknot someday, that shit will never happen.'
Slipknot have three more Australia shows and one New Zealand date coming up, followed by a run of European festivals in June (pick up tickets here). As of now, their only North American show of 2025 is slated for July 19th at the Inkcarceration Festival in Mansfield, Ohio.

Not only did Travis take the opportunity to boogie down, but he also showed his Swift smarts by acknowledging that the version Shaq played was from the original Red album, not the more recently released Taylor's Version. 'Shout out to Tay Tay,' Travis said. 'Just got that song back, too." He continued, "Just bought all her music back. So it's finally hers too man. I appreciate that dog."Fans are swooning over Travis' latest show of very public support for Taylor — something that hasn't always been a given in her past relationships, especially when it came to Joe Alwyn, who once refused to name his favorite song of hers in an interview with British GQ back in 2018. Travis Kelce's New Message to Taylor Swift is Turning Heads
Travis Kelce's New Message to Taylor Swift is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is more than just Taylor Swift's boyfriend, he is also one of her loudest supporters when it comes to her groundbreaking career moves. Now, the NFL star has joined Swifties in celebrating the pop star's highly publicized journey to reclaim ownership of her masters. In the teaser for the episode of the 'New Heights' podcast, where the Chiefs tight end serves as one of the hosts along with brother Jason Kelce, the duo invited NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal as their guest. Interestingly, the former Los Angeles Lakers star showcased his goofy side when he surprised the Kelce brothers with a playful gesture. O'Neal played 'I Knew You Were Trouble' and lip-synced parts of the song before revealing that it was his 'favorite song in the world.' The gesture prompted Travis Kelce to bring up his girlfriend, highlighting a major milestone in her career. 'Shout out to TayTay — just got that song back too,' he said, adding, 'She bought all her music back, so it's finally hers.' The three-time Super Bowl champion's remark drew high praise from Swifties, especially for how he lovingly showed pride and support for her. 'He is [expletive] proud of his girlfriend,' a commenter said. 'Travis always hyping Taylor. Love to see the support!' a second user wrote. Moreover, fans seemed happy about Swift's current relationship with the NFL star. 'LMFAO. OMG. I love that Taylor found this kind of love,' a supporter added. 'How can ANYONE hate on him and Taylor's relationship? He is so supportive and proud of her,' a fan remarked, swooning over the TayVis romance. The same goes for a follower who said, 'HE LOVES HER SO MUCH. I'M SOBBING.' One fan also appreciated the NBA legend's move to mention the 'Cruel Summer' hitmaker and noted, 'Respect to both Shaq and Travis for celebrating her win!' On Friday, the 35-year-old singer surprised the public with bombshell news, announcing that she had bought the masters of her first six albums from Shamrock Capital. 'I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,' she wrote, adding, 'But that's all in the past now. I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made… now belongs… to me.' This means she now has full control over her music catalog, including music videos, album artwork, concert films, photography and even her unreleased story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 4, 2025, where it first appeared.

Martin Scorsese No Longer Watches Movies in Theaters Due to Audiences Behaving Badly
The post Martin Scorsese No Longer Watches Movies in Theaters Due to Audiences Behaving Badly appeared first on Consequence. In hardly shocking news, Martin Scorsese has said he no longer watches movies in public theaters anymore. On Peter Travers' recently launched blog, the film critic recalled a conversation he once had with the director about the inconsiderate behavior of fellow theatergoers. Referring back to their discussion, Travers wrote, 'I asked the maestro why he doesn't see movies in theaters anymore and he went all raging bull about audiences who babble on phones during the movie, leave to order snacks and vats of soda, and keep up a noise level loud enough to drown out the actors.' Travers retorted by pointing out how 'we couldn't keep our mouths shut when we were kids.' In response, Scorsese said, 'Yeah, maybe, but when we talked it was always about the movie and the fun we had chewing over the details.' It's unclear when Travers and Scorsese had this conversation, but this year's The Minecraft Movie became notorious for its rowdy audience participation.
