Maruti Suzuki has launched the updated 2025 Grand Vitara in India with prices starting at ₹11.42 lakh (ex-showroom). 1 Safety
Safety has received a major upgrade for 2025. All variants of the Grand Vitara now come equipped with six airbags as standard, ensuring improved occupant protection. This is complemented by a comprehensive safety package that includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, front and rear disc brakes, and 3-point ELR seat belts for all passengers. The inclusion of ISOFIX child seat mounts makes the SUV even more family-friendly, enhancing its appeal to safety-conscious buyers.
2 New variant
To broaden its strong hybrid offering, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new Delta+ Strong Hybrid variant, priced at ₹16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant sits below the Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims, making hybrid technology more accessible to a larger number of customers. It strikes a balance between affordability and fuel efficiency, helping Maruti strengthen its position in the hybrid SUV segment.
3 Feature upgrades
The 2025 update also brings several premium features to lower variants. The SUV now offers an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an Electronic Parking Brake with auto hold for the 6-speed automatic variants, and an air purifier with PM 2.5 display for improved in-cabin air quality. New LED cabin lamps and rear door sunshades further enhance the comfort and ambience inside. Moreover, the popular sunroof feature is now available in the Zeta (O), Alpha (O), Zeta+ (O), and Alpha+ (O) trims, making it more accessible than before.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno achieves 4 stars in BNCAP crash test. Check out the safety features
As standard, the Baleno comes with dual airbags, the top-end variants come with six airbags. Notify me Bharat NCAP has just released crash test results for the Baleno. It scored four stars in adult occupant protection and three stars in child occupant protection. The premium hatchback has to compete against the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza, which is a rebadged version of the Baleno. Here are all the safety features that the Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with As standard, the Baleno comes with Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control, rear parking sensors, high speed alert system, brake assist, dual airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and force limiters and seat belt reminders. There are also dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts and brake assist. Bharat NCAP tested the Delta AGS and Alpha AGS of the Baleno with 2 and 6 airbags. Maruti Suzuki Baleno crash test Bharat NCAP performed evaluations on two versions of the Baleno - one featuring 6 airbags and the other having 2 airbags. The findings indicated slightly varying scores for each version. The version with 6 airbags secured a score of 26.52 out of 32.00 points for adult occupant safety, while the version with 2 airbags attained a score of 24.04 out of 32.00. Nevertheless, both versions achieved an identical score of 34.81 out of 49 for child occupant safety. Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Baleno go under Bharat NCAP. Here are the safety features
Bharat NCAP, India's official car safety rating body, recently crash-tested two of Maruti Suzuki's most popular models—the Dzire and the Baleno. The results revealed a major milestone for Maruti Suzuki, as the Dzire became the brand's first sedan to receive a full five-star rating for both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) under the Bharat NCAP safety protocols. The Dzire stood out with its impressive safety credentials. Equipped with six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, and ABS with EBD, the compact sedan offers a comprehensive suite of safety features. It also includes a 360-degree parking camera, front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters, and speed-sensitive auto door locks. Additional features such as high-speed alert, ISOFIX child seat mounts, three-point seatbelts for all occupants, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, fog lamps, and a tyre pressure monitoring system further enhance its safety profile. In Bharat NCAP tests, the Dzire scored 29.46 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 41.57 out of 49 for child occupant protection. This impressive performance follows its earlier achievement of a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests in November 2024. In detailed evaluations, it earned 14.17/16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 15.29/16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. The Baleno, Maruti's premium hatchback, also fared well but fell slightly short of Dzire's results. It was tested in two variants—one with six airbags and the other with just two. Both models came equipped with essential safety technologies, including ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, 360-degree parking camera, and front seatbelt pretensioners. The hatchback also features an auto-dimming IRVM, high-speed alert system, ISOFIX mounts, and reverse parking sensors. In crash test assessments, the six-airbag variant scored 26.52 out of 32 for adult protection, while the two-airbag variant secured 24.04. Both achieved a score of 34.81 out of 49 for child occupant protection. During the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, both variants posted identical scores of 11.54 out of 16. However, the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test showed a reversal—where the six-airbag variant scored 12.50, the two-airbag variant surprisingly outperformed it with 14.99 out of 16.
