Weather Radar: Showers, thunderstorms move through western Massachusetts
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Some spotty showers are possible Friday afternoon, with the best chance of any showers east of the Connecticut River.
More rain develops after midnight and could be heavy at times. Saturday looks to be unsettled with rain that will be heavy at times early in the morning. Some rumbles of thunder are possible. Scattered showers will continue towards the afternoon.
Hotter-than-average summer in Massachusetts predicted
High temperatures will be around 70 degrees.

June is one of our wettest months here in western Massachusetts, with an average of 3.9 inches of rain. The average high temperature for June is 78 degrees, and the average low temperature is 56 degrees.
June can be a month of extremes with the record high temperature being 102 degrees set on June 26, 1952, and the record coldest temperature was 32 degrees set on June 3, 1964.
June is also the brightest month of the year.

Multi-car crash in Holyoke damages traffic light, parked cars
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A two-vehicle crash in Holyoke Saturday evening involved a traffic light, light pole, and multiple parked cars being damaged. Road closures at East and Broadway in Chicopee due to fire Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan stated that officers received reports of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Appleton Street and Maple Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The collision caused one vehicle to crash into a traffic light and a light pole. Three parked vehicles were also struck and damaged during the incident. The vehicles were unoccupied. One driver involved in the crash was brough to Holyoke Hospital to be evaluated for possible injuries. The intersection was closed off Saturday evening. The Holyoke Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash. During this time, the intersection at East Street and Broadway has become gridlocked due to the efforts of fire crews.
