Former England forward receives ANOTHER driving ban after being caught speeding again - as he's also hit with fine after pleading guilty
A former England forward has been hit with another driving ban after being caught speeding yet again.
Jermaine Defoe has lost the privilege for a year after being caught doing 82pmh in a 70mph zone last October. He was driving a Land Rover in Wormley, Herts, JPs in St Albans were told.
The ex-forward, who was capped 57 times by England and played for the likes of Tottenham, Portsmouth and Sunderland, was fined £660 plus £90 in costs and a £226 victim surcharge.
The 42-year-old also received three points on his licence to go with the nine he already had.
In July 2008, he was banned from driving for six months in July 2008, and received another six-month ban the following year for the same offence.
He admitted to driving at 45mph in a 30mph zone in Portsmouth in May 2008.
Defoe was handed three points and narrowly avoided a ban after being caught on his phone behind the wheel in October 2010 while driving in Loughton, but was fined £800.
His next ban came two years ago when he was seen speeding in South Lanarkshire. He was clocked doing 56mph in a 30mph zone.
Glasgow's Justice of the Peace Court was told Defoe was behind the wheel of a Range Rover at the time. Prosecutor Ryan Watson said the striker was snared by a speed camera in the area's Mill Street around 11pm.
At the time, Paul Mullen, defending, stated: 'He apologises to the court for a momentary lapse in judgement.'

Birmingham bin dispute could run until December after vote for more strikes
The bin strike in Birmingham could last until December after nearly 400 workers voted to continue industrial action. Unite, the trade union representing the striking workers, said 97% of workers voted in favour of further strike action in its latest ballot on a 75% turnout. Unite's general secretary, Sharon Graham, said: 'Unite will not allow these workers to be financially ruined. The strikes will continue for as long as it takes. Unite calls on the decision makers to let common sense prevail in upcoming negotiations.' Bin workers in Birmingham have been striking since January and walked out indefinitely in March in a dispute over job and pay cuts. Piles of black bags in the streets and overflowing wheelie bins have led to an influx of rats in some parts of the city. Huge queues have formed at mobile waste collection points as residents try to get rid of their rubbish. Police were called to shut down roads because of overwhelming crowds on one occasion. The city council made a renewed offer to the workers last week after mediated negotiations, but Unite said it was too little and too late. 'After smearing these workers in public since January and telling them to accept a fair and reasonable offer that never existed, the council finally put a proposal in writing last week,' Graham said. 'True to form, the proposal came weeks late and was not in line with the ballpark offer discussed during Acas talks in May.' She said government commissioners brought in to oversee the running of the council after it declared itself effectively bankrupt in 2023 had 'watered down the deal' despite not taking part in negotiations. Relations between striking workers and the council have continued to deteriorate, and in recent weeks the council was granted a court order to stop waste vehicles being blocked from leaving depots by those on the picket line. It said more than 12,000 tonnes of uncollected waste had accumulated on the streets one week in May because collections were disrupted 'due to industrial action by pickets' where police had scaled down their presence. Sign up to First Edition Our morning email breaks down the key stories of the day, telling you what's happening and why it matters after newsletter promotion Unite has insisted the actions of its members have always been lawful and peaceful. The union says 170 workers face losing up to £8,000 a year under the council's current proposals, but the council has disputed this, insisting only 17 people could lose a maximum of £6,000 and that all have been offered alternative roles on the same pay grade. A council spokesperson said: 'This is a service that needs to be transformed to one that citizens of Birmingham deserve and the council remains committed to resolving this dispute. 'We have made a fair and reasonable offer that we have asked Unite to put to their members and we are awaiting their response.' The council denied that its leader or the commissioners had watered down any offer, and said Unite's ballot was not a response to its latest offer made through Acas.

Moment idiot TikTok influencer gets instant karma after pulling stupid prank on the WRONG unwilling victim
A TIKTOK influencer got instant karma after a prank backfired horribly. Video shows that the joke was really on the prankster as plainclothes police officers quickly arrested him. 5 5 5 Approaching a man in London, the Apple Pay prank involved the influencer going up to a man and tapping their phones together. The prank's victim quickly grabs him by the arm while the perpetrator loudly shouts "hairline" repeatedly. He then tells the man "I took £1,000 out of your account for a new hairline" in reference to his own receding style. As the man continues to hold onto his arm, the cameraman asks his friend whether he should keep filming. Other people then start to get involved, making sure the influencer doesn't get away and saying "you don't go." Despite the chaos, the TikToker tells his cameraman to "keep rolling bro" with a big grin on his face. He quickly changes his tune when the man starts asking people to call the police. The "hairline" prankster quickly starts shouting "bro it's a prank" as he is dragged backwards by the man he was pranking, and a passerby. Another man then approaches the youngster and loudly says: "I am a police officer." As the police officer asks the man to explain what happened, the videographer keeps asking whether he should keep filming. 'You can't make this up' - Irish fans in stitches at Ruesha Littlejohn's playful prank upon Katie McCabe's camp arrival The video captures his friend being put in handcuffs by more plainclothed police officers while he continues to shout that it was " just a prank". The boy is pushed to the floor as the police men tell him to keep still. Despite shouting out in pain and saying they're "breaking my hand off," he encourages his friend to "keep recording." Police then calmly tell him that he has been detained so that they can conduct a stop and search for articles relating to fraud. It's not the first time that pranksters have been dealt instant karma. A teenager who threatened to stab a pedestrian was quickly humiliated when he fell off his bike moments later. Road rage can be a common way for motorists to get instant karma for their reckless driving. Video footage shows two cars locking horns after a risky undertake. A silver car cut across a white line marking a bus lane to undertake a black SUV. Blue lights quickly revealed the black car to be an unmarked police car, leaving social media users laughing at his expense. 5
