Lexington kitchen creates new British-cereal-based treat for Big Blue Nation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — DV8 Kitchen dropped a brand-new cinnamon roll with a unique British influence on Friday for Big Blue Nation.
Known for its sweet treats, DV8 Kitchen's bakers are now serving up a Weetabix cinnamon roll.
The roll was inspired by the Cats' star center Amari Williams, who said the British cereal was his secret weapon. After his big performance against Illinois, the snack went viral in Kentucky.
'People have been coming in, saying they're going to take them home to eat while watching the game, started their day with them, had it for lunch,' Michael Harper, manager at DV8 Kitchen, said. 'They just want to be energized and in the big blue spirit like Amari was.'

The team at DV8 said that as long as UK keeps dancing in the NCAA Tournament, the staff plan to keep serving the specialty Weetabix-based cinnamon rolls.
The bakery staff said they hope to have them on the menu for at least the next two weekends.

Victims of Chaotic Crowd Stampede at Dallas Cheer Competition File Lawsuit

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lawyers representing hundreds of people who were injured during a chaotic crowd stampede at a March cheerleading competition in Dallas have sued the organizer, Varsity Spirit, and facility management saying they failed to provide proper security at the event. In their court filing, the attorneys say those failures led to parents and children being trampled and suffering broken bones, concussions, brain bleeds, and other physical injuries when participants and attendees went running from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, following reports of gunshots being fired. Many others, including children, continue to suffer from the emotional trauma they endured. 'This wasn't a little something. This was mass chaos,' said Ashlea Schwarz of Paul LLP in Kansas City, Mo., who represents the victims. 'You had parents separated from their kids for hours. You had a facility that had no plan for reunification in place. People had no idea where they would go to find their children.' Video of attorney Ashlea Schwarz and victim Rachel Meyer 'It was pure chaos,' said Rachel Meyer of St. Louis, who attended the event along with her 9-year-old daughter. 'Nobody knew what was happening. Everybody was screaming, looking every way. There were people pushing other people. And the pure panic in everybody's voices – that's something I'll never forget.' Records show there were approximately 25,000 participants – most under the age of 18 – who attended the 2025 National Cheerleaders Association All-Star National Championship event, from Feb. 28 to March 2. An estimated 38,000 spectators attended. Police and event officials have said the crowd crush was ignited by the sound of metal poles crashing to the concrete floor of the convention center following a fight between two parents. 'It really doesn't matter what started the panic,' said Charla Aldous of Dallas-based Aldous Law. 'What matters is the chaos and crowd crush happened because Varsity and the convention center were not prepared. And that resulted in the injuries these people suffered.' The lawsuit details injuries suffered by attendees from Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. They include a woman knocked unconscious during the stampede who suffered a series of brain bleeds; a mother who was slammed face-first into the concrete and was so severely hurt that her young daughter thought her mom had been fatally shot; and an event participant suffering from a concussion who sheltered alone under tractor-trailers outside the convention center. Varsity Brands is the parent company of Varsity Spirit, and is headquartered in Farmers Branch, Texas. The lawsuit is Albold, et al. v. Varsity Spirit LLC et al., No. CC-25-04400-C in Dallas County Court at Law No. 3. 'Padel will grow if it becomes a spectator sport'

Tia Norton from Leamington Spa, is the British number three in women's padel [Getty Images] One of the UK's top female padel players says the game needs to become "more of a spectator sport" in order for it to keep growing. British number three Tia Norton is among eight women who have been selected in the Great Britain squad for the Euro Padel Cup in Madrid next month. Advertisement The 21-year-old, from Leamington Spa, said: "Bigger tournaments are gradually being played in the UK, but if we can get a premier padel event, which is the highest ranked tournament, that will be a really big moment for the sport here". "At the end of the day you need money in the sport to make it bigger, so I think that would be a big step." Norton is also aware of the limited training facilities in the Midlands and the game's rising cost. "To install padel courts, get planning permission, to get everything around building padel centres is very very expensive, I think the courts themselves are a minimum of £15,000," she said. Advertisement She added the Lawn Tennis Association had "taken right steps" to help implement more facilities, but there needed to be "a better way to get padel courts into deprived areas and make it accessible to everyone". Norton said the sport was "very very unknown" in the UK when she started to play in 2015 [Getty Images] Norton said the sport had been "very very unknown" when she started to play in 2015. "I had to travel to Spain a lot to train, which was of course a big expense, and I was going almost once a month on weekends and then driving to London from Leamington to train as well. "I was fortunate to have my parents fund my Padel when I started out. "Nowadays it is becoming more accessible and the sport is on the rise, but it is still expensive." Al Hilal put this Man United star in their transfer list following Osimhen's rejection

Al Hilal is reportedly searching for a new forward who can help them win more trophies next season. By Ravi Kumar Jha Published on June 9, 2025, 18:53 IST Al Hilal is reportedly searching for a new forward who can help them win more trophies next season. Saudi club tried to sign Victor Osimhen but the player rejected the offer and the deal collapsed. However, as per multiple reports, Al Hilal is trying to sign Manchester United's Jadon Sancho who was on loan at Chelsea last season and doesn't want to play for the Red Devils anymore. It is just the initial interest and nothing has been concrete yet. Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal are reportedly in the market for a new forward as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the new season. The club, which has enjoyed domestic and continental success in recent years, is aiming to strengthen its squad further to maintain their dominance. Al Hilal recently attempted to lure Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, but the deal collapsed after the player turned down their offer. The setback hasn't deterred the Riyadh-based club, as fresh reports suggest they have now turned their attention to Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. Sancho, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, is believed to be reluctant to return to Old Trafford following his fallout with manager Erik ten Hag. While Al Hilal's interest is still at an early stage, sources close to the situation claim the Saudi side is monitoring the English forward's availability closely.
