Odisha: 21 Pakistani crew members of cargo ship denied entry at Paradip port
Security agencies have barred 21 Pakistani crew members from disembarking a crude oil tanker that arrived at Odisha's Paradip Port on Wednesday amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Officials said the Hong Kong-flagged ship — MT Siren II — carrying 1,96,580 MT of crude oil for Indian Oil Corporation, docked at the SPM (single point mooring) terminal of the port a day earlier.
The vessel had travelled from South Korea via Singapore before reaching Paradip. Apart from the 21 Pakistani crew members, two are from India, while Sri Lanka and Thailand had one each.
Jagatsinghpur SP Bhabani Shankar Udgata said all 21 Pakistani crew members have been barred from disembarking for security reasons. Prior to their arrival, the immigration department had alerted the CISF, the Indian Coast Guard, the marine police, and Foreigners Regional Registration Office in Hyderabad to tighten security measures.
'The Pakistani crew members will remain on-board throughout the unloading process. Once the operation is completed, the vessel will depart immediately,' the SP said.
After the vessel's arrival, the immigration department directed all Pakistani crew members to deposit their passports and visas, and the documents will be returned after the unloading process is complete.
Since the ship was carrying combustible cargo, it has not docked at the port but anchored at the SPM, 15 nautical miles off the Paradip port with local boats carrying out the offloading.

However, the boat was boarded by Israeli forces during the night before it could reach shore, the FFC said on its Telegram account. Israel imposed a naval blockade on the coastal enclave after Hamas took control of Gaza in 2007. The blockade has remained in place through multiple conflicts, including the current war, which began after a Hamas-led assault on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, that killed more than 1,200 people, according to an Israeli tally. Gaza's health ministry says over 54,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel's military campaign. The United Nations has warned that most of Gaza's more than 2 million residents are facing famine. The Israeli government says the blockade is essential to prevent weapons from reaching Hamas.

Punjab: Espionage case: YouTuber Jasbir's female friend grilled, was receiving funds from him, say cops
The woman friend whose name had surfaced during the interrogation of espionage accused YouTuber Jasbir Singh, 41, was questioned for hours at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) on Sunday. As per sources, the woman, 32, from Jalandhar, has revealed that Jasbir had taken her to Delhi three to four times and she had even accompanied him to the invitation-only Pakistan Day event, hosted by the embassy. She said Jasbir had taken her along, despite not having an official invitation, as he had close ties with a man named Danish. Notably, India had expelled Pakistani diplomat Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, last month for espionage activities. Was receiving funds from Jasbir As per information, police have started examining the woman's phone and social media accounts. Preliminary findings suggest that Jasbir had been providing her financial support for some time. Authorities are now investigating why the funds were provided and at whose behest. Jasbir's phone records show links with 150 Pak officials Meanwhile, forensic teams found three to four suspicious applications in Jasbir's laptop. The accused, who runs a YouTube channel called 'Jaan Mahal' and has 1.1 million subscribers, had allegedly deleted several apps following the arrest of influencer Jyoti Malhotra last month. The forensic team is now working to recover this data, which, SSOC officials believe, could lead to significant breakthroughs. As per sources, 150 Pakistani contact numbers were found on Jasbir's phone, mostly belonging to ISI and Pakistani Army officers with whom he frequently communicated. Interrogation revealed that these contacts instructed Jasbir to post positive videos about Pakistan and promote Pakistani content widely. Jasbir was also urged to engage Indian youth through his content. Sources revealed that Danish, in particular, sought to involve more young women in these efforts. Investigators have also learned that Pakistan's intelligence operations are increasingly focused on targeting Indian youth. Jasbir was also allegedly in touch with Pakistani Intelligence Operative (PIO) Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, a member of a terror-backed espionage network, besides Jyoti Malhotra, who remains in custody. On Saturday, a Mohali court extended Jasbir's police remand by two more days. He was arrested on June 4 on espionage charges.

‘Show is over': IDF diverts Gaza-bound aid ship carrying Greta Thunberg to Israel
The Israeli military has intercepted an aid ship which was attempting to reach the Gaza Strip defying Israeli naval blockade, and diverted the charity vessel carrying Greta Thunberg and other activists to Israel, Associated Press reported. The UK-flagged yacht Madleen, operated by the pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), had departed from Sicily on June 6 and was hoping to reach Gaza.
