Ipswich chief Kieran McKenna is set to be among the candidates Brentford will consider as Frank's replacement.
Should Frank leave, it will end a near seven-year stay with the Bees where he has won promotion to the Premier League and managed two top-ten finishes, including this term.
But SunSport understands McKenna is happy at Ipswich and determined to take the club back to the Prem following their relegation.

That does not rule out a quick return to management, however, should the right opportunity present itself.

Drogheda United to be expelled from Conference League by UEFA

Drogheda United have confirmed that they will not be allowed compete in the UEFA Conference League due to ownership rules and are now taking the case of the Court of Arbitration for Sport. United, owned by the Trivela Group, qualified for the competition by winning last year's FAI Cup. However, Danish side Silkeborg, also under the Trivela umbrella, secured a place in the Conference League through their league position. Under UEFA rules, two sides from the same owner cannot enter the same European competition. Silkeborg take priority due to their higher league position under UEFA guidelines. Clubs in England have been attempting to get around the ownership rules by placing their ownership in a blind trust. United have not stated if they made such a move before a deadline, but revealed they are limited by what they can discuss at this time. In a statement, they said: "The club can confirm that it has been notified by UEFA that we are facing expulsion from the UEFA Conference League due to Drogheda United and Silkeborg having both qualified for the same competition. "This is despite significant efforts by the club to work constructively with UEFA to make necessary ownership and governance changes to allow both to compete over the past several months. "We are devastated by this potential development and believe it would be both harsh and unfair, given the way brand new rule changes this year have been, in our view, inconsistently communicated and enforced across various clubs. "We're now appealing the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. "Given we are now in the midst of an ongoing legal battle, and out of respect for that process, UEFA and CFCB, and the overall aim of sporting integrity, there are limits to what we are able to share. "What we can say is this: we are—even at this late hour—fighting to do anything and everything we can to secure our players', supporters', and community's place in Europe. "We have been in active dialogue with UEFA for months and have put forward a share disposition, trust arrangements, and various other undertakings consistent with recent CFCB precedent, only to have all of those efforts rebuffed. Nevertheless, we look forward to the opportunity to be heard at CAS and thank you in advance for your support." It is a significant blow to the Boynesiders with over €500,000 in prize money for reaching the Conference League on offer.

Drogheda United to take fight to CAS as UEFA issue alarming Euro update

`Drogheda United have confirmed that they have been told they face expulsion from the Europa Conference League - and that they now plan to take their fight to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Boynesiders are set to be booted out under UEFA's Article 5, 'Integrity of the competition/multi-club ownership', which stipulates that 'No individual or legal entity may have control or influence over more than one club participating in a UEFA club competition'. Drogheda's owners, Trivela Group, earlier this year took a majority stake in Danish side Silkeborg IF. They qualified earlier this month for the Conference League via the Danish play-off system. United reacted to that development by confirming they were in 'ongoing discussions' with UEFA over the potential issue, which could cost them a minimum of €525,000 in prize money. And on Thursday afternoon they issued an update, signed by The Drogheda United Football Club Board. It read: 'The club can confirm that it has been notified by UEFA that we are facing expulsion from the UEFA Conference League due to Drogheda United and Silkeborg IF having both qualified for the same competition. 'This is despite significant efforts by the club to work constructively with UEFA to make necessary ownership and governance changes to allow both to compete over the past several months. Tottenham to name Thomas Frank as head coach after agreeing deal with Brentford

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Brentford to make Thomas Frank their next head coach. Spurs quickly set their sights on Frank after Ange Postecoglou was sacked last week – only 16 days after he secured Europa League success – and made an official approach to Brentford on Monday. Discussions between Tottenham and Brentford initially centred on Frank's current terms at the west London club, which were set to run until the summer of 2027 and contained a release clause reportedly in the region of £10million. Justin Cochrane will move to Tottenham alongside Thomas Frank (Mike Egerton/PA) Further talks were required over which backroom staff Frank would take to Spurs but, after days of negotiations, a deal was struck with Brentford on Thursday, PA understands. Highly-rated Brentford first-team coach Justin Cochrane is set to follow Frank to Tottenham and in the process return to the club where he started his coaching journey. London-born Cochrane has been part of Frank's backroom staff since 2022, after he initially developed as a coach in Spurs' youth-team before a spell at Manchester United. Cochrane, 43, has earned a reputation as one of the brightest coaches in England and earlier this year joined Thomas Tuchel's coaching staff for the national team alongside his role at Brentford under Frank. Frank would take over a Spurs side which won a trophy for the first time since 2008 with victory in the Europa League final last month but finished 17th in the Premier League. The ex-Brondby boss has transformed Brentford during his seven-year spell in charge, with promotion from the Championship in 2021 followed by him establishing the club as a Premier League regular despite a modest budget. Christian Eriksen, who played under Frank at Brentford and starred during a seven-year spell at Spurs, backed his compatriot to be a success at his former club. 'I think he is the right coach for Tottenham,' Eriksen told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. 'I have had Thomas at various times and I think he is the perfect match for Tottenham, and it would be great if Thomas takes on that challenge. 'His personality, his way of playing and his way of being. And the club considering where they were last season – they won a trophy of course – but they are in the process of building something up, and I am sure that Thomas is a good man to bring in.'
