Jaber Al-Harmi, Editor Of Qatari Government Daily 'Al-Sharq,' In Antisemitic Post: 'The Hour Of Judgement Will Not Come Until We Fight The Jews And Kill Them'
Jabber Al-Harmi, editor-in-chief of the Qatari government daily Al-Sharq , posted a virulently antisemitic message on his X account, in which he wished for the death of the Jews, writing: "We are certain that the Hour of Judgement will not come until we fight the Jews and kill them. We feel no despair or hopelessness, despite all the pain, wounds and bloodshed." The text evokes a well-known hadith (saying attributed to the Prophet Muhammad) which states: "The Hour of Judgement will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. The Jews will hide behind a stone or a tree, but the stone or tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him." [1] This hadith is also quoted in Hamas' charter.
This post by Al-Harmi reflects his antisemitic views and the antisemitic discourse prevalent in the Qatari media at large. Qatar's government press, including the Al-Sharq daily, of which Al-Harmi is the editor, frequently publishes antisemitic articles that present the Jews as the enemies of Allah, as cunning and treacherous, as murderers of the prophets and as blood-suckers. [2] In addition to his antisemitic discourse Al-Harmi also frequently makes statements against Israel in which he hopes for Israel's demise and for the liberation of all of Palestine.
Al-Harmi's views on Israel and the Jews are aligned with the extremist ideology of Hamas and reflect his unreserved support for this movement and for its terror against Israelis – support which is also expressed by the Qatari state. [3] Just one day after Hamas' October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, in which some 1,200 Israelis were murdered and 251 were abducted to Gaza, Al-Harmi praised the operation, echoing the sentiment of other Qatari media figures. [4] Since then he has frequently reiterated his praise for the attack and for Hamas and its leaders. [5]

This report reviews some of the antisemitic statements made by Jaber Al-Harmi, chief editor of the Qatari government daily Al-Sharq .
Al-Harmi's Latest Antisemitic Post Is Based On A Hadith That Is Also Quoted In Hamas' Charter: "The Hour Of Judgement Will Not Come Until The Muslims Fight The Jews And Kill Them"
As noted, Al-Harmi wrote on X: "We are certain that the Hour of Judgement will not come until we fight the Jews and kill them. We feel no despair or hopelessness, despite all the pain, wounds and bloodshed." [6]
The post evokes an antisemitic hadith in which the Prophet Muhammad says: "The Hour of Judgement will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. The Jews will hide behind a stone or a tree, but the stone or tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.'" This hadith is also quoted in Article 7 of Hamas' charter, which says: [7] "…The Islamic Resistance Movement [Hamas] aspires to realize the promise of Allah, no matter how long it takes. The Prophet, Allah's prayer and peace be upon him, says: 'The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: "Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him" – except for the gharqad tree, for it is the tree of the Jews.' (Recorded in the collections of Bukhari and Muslim)." [8]
This is not the first time Al-Harmi has evoked this hadith. In an August 5, 2024 message on X, for example, he quoted it and added: "Gaza, with its trees and stones, will fight the Jews. Palestine, every inch of it, will fight the Jews. There is no place for the Zionists in Palestine, and they will soon be swept away." [9]
Al-Harmi In Other Posts: The Jews Are Prophet-Killers
Other statements by Al-Harmi contained additional motifs of Arab antisemitism, such as descriptions of the Jews as prophet-killers and covenant-breakers. In a post from April 2, 2025 he wrote: "Everything the Zionist Jews are doing in Palestine, in Gaza and in the West Bank is conceivable, for they are prophet-killers. Moreover, they killed the prophets in the most criminal ways, as in the case of Allah's prophet Zacharia, whom they cut with a saw. So what do you expect of them?!" [10]
In a November 6, 2023 post, he wrote: "The Children of Israel killed or lied to every prophet or messenger [Allah] sent to them. If that is how [they behaved] towards Allah, how can it be different with human beings?! They carry out barbaric crimes, they have occupied holy places and usurped land, and they do not honor agreements. Yet the Arabs… do not learn from history." [11]
Al-Harmi: "The Zionist Entity Will Cease To Exist And Palestine Will Return"
In other posts, Al-Harmi yearned for "the complete liberation of Palestine" and promised that Israel will cease to exist. On July 23, 2024, he shared a video of a baby wearing a keffiyeh and a green headband similar to those worn by Hamas' fighters, and carrying a toy rifle on his back, and commented: "They arrive, generation after generation, until the complete liberation of Palestinian soil." [12]
On November 17, 2024 he shared a picture of a Hamas fighter in uniform with his young son, also wearing a uniform, and placed the following words in the father's mouth: "Son, do not despair. Reflected in my eyes you see Palestine abandoned and Gaza destroyed, but reflected in your eyes I see Jerusalem liberated tomorrow." [13]
Following U.S. president Joe Biden's announcement of his withdrawal from the presidential race in July 2024, Al-Harmi wrote: "Biden is gone and Gaza endures. [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu will follow [Biden] and Gaza will endure. The Zionist entity will cease to exist and Palestine will return. That is a truth we shall never doubt." He ended his post with a quote from the Quran: "They see it as distant, yet we see it as near" (Quran 70:6). [14] After Netanyahu announced the dissolution of his war cabinet in June 2024, Al-Harmi wrote: "The Al-Qassam Brigades [Hamas' military wing] have dismantled Israel's war cabinet, as a prelude to dismantling the [entire] usurping entity [Israel] and to the collapse of the Zionist enterprise." US envoy warns of assassination threat to Syria's Al-Sharaa
Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, US envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack voiced concern over the safety of Syria's transitional president, Ahmad al-Sharaa, warning that his efforts to promote inclusive governance and build relations with the West could make him a target for assassination by what he described as 'disgruntled militants.' In remarks to Al-Monitor, Barrack called for the establishment of a coordinated protection system around al-Sharaa, underscoring that US and Syrian interests are increasingly aligned. Barrack also highlighted the continuing risk posed by armed factions of foreign fighters who had joined forces with al-Sharaa during the campaign that led to the removal of former president Bashar al-Assad in early December. Although the current leadership is working to integrate these fighters into the national army, he noted they remain susceptible to recruitment by extremist groups, including ISIS. That risk, Barrack added, is part of a broader set of challenges confronting al-Sharaa's administration. These include the integration of Kurdish military units into the national army, the absorption of foreign fighter formations, and the management of extensive detention facilities across northern Syria. Turning to regional dynamics, Barrack voiced cautious optimism that, despite the absence of direct communication, Israel and the new Syrian leadership could reach a tacit understanding, warning that any military escalation at this point would carry severe consequences for all sides.

CENTCOM chief: US ready to strike Iran if Trump orders
Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, CENTCOM Commander General Michael Kurilla announced that the United States is prepared to respond with 'overwhelming force' to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, if ordered to do so by President Donald Trump. In an address to the Senate Armed Services Committee, Kurilla described the current moment as a 'strategic opportunity' to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear-armed state, confirming that a broad set of plans had been presented to both the president and the secretary of defense to address the Iranian nuclear program. In his final testimony before leaving office, Kurilla labeled Iran's response to the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel as a turning point, accusing it of 'operationalized its entire proxy network and arsenal of standoff capabilities' to advance long-standing strategic aims. He noted that the network includes groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, which have suffered major setbacks in recent months. On Yemen, he considered the Houthis as a deeply entrenched force aligned with Tehran, responsible for more than 300 attacks targeting Israeli assets and international shipping lanes, adding that CENTCOM responded with targeted military operations that significantly degraded the group's capabilities, forcing the Houthis to halt maritime assaults.

Article In Qatari Government Daily: Muhammad Sinwar Was A Great And Daring Fighter – It Is Enough That He Was October 7 'Mastermind'
The Qatari government press continues to declare its full-throated support for Hamas and its terrorist activities against Israel, especially for its October 7, 2023 attack on Israel in which some 1,200 people were murdered and 251 were taken hostage. This approach is in line with Qatar's unconditional support for its protégé Hamas.[1] One expression of this support was an article published June 8, 2025 by the Qatari Al-Raya government daily. In it, senior writer Babiker Issa[2] praised Muhammad Sinwar, a top official of the Hamas military wing, the 'Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, and one of the planners of the October 7 attack. Sinwar, killed recently in the Gaza Strip, was the brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was killed in October 2024. Under the headline "Sinwar – Icon of the Palestinian Resistance," Issa called Muhammad Sinwar "a daring fighter" and "an honorable and great warrior." He went on to describe him as "an icon of the national struggle on the land of Palestine and in Gaza," and as "the planner and the mastermind – with his comrades the fighters – of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, 2023… which restored to the Palestinian issue its brilliance and its glory." Also in his article, Issa placed Muhammad Sinwar alongside prominent historical figures such as the Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ, freedom fighters such as Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela, and PLO leaders such as Yasser Arafat and his deputy Abu Jihad, who had headed the Fatah military wing and was responsible for the murder of dozens of Israelis in numerous terrorist attacks in the 1970s and 1980s. Muhammad Sinwar (Source: May 25, 2025) The following are excerpts from Babiker Issa's June 8, 2025 article in the Qatari Al-Raya government daily: Beginning his article with an extensive list of prominent figures who changed history, from Jesus and the Prophet Muhammad to the 20th century and "great and honorable fighters" such as Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and others, Issa went on to state: "...What led me to the biographies of these esteemed fighters who sacrificed the best of their lives for the sake of their country is the story of the daring fighter Muhammad Sinwar (1975-2025), in whom I see, according to every criterion, an icon of the national struggle on the exalted land of Palestine and in Gaza of steadfastness. "It is enough that this great and honorable warrior was the planner and the mastermind – along with his comrades the fighters – of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, 2023, which restored to the world the sanity that was absent and was stolen from it, and which restored to the Palestinian issue the brilliance and glory that was stolen from it. This was in spite of the excessive sacrifices [that resulted from the operation] and the attempts at exiling and erasing [the Palestinians] from human existence. "When I think of [Muhammad] Sinwar, who frightened his hangmen [i.e. the Israelis] even after his death, I think of a deceased leader: Yasser Arafat (1929-2004), a national symbol and a charismatic figure who combined diplomatic activity with the armed struggle, and of his fortunate comrades, several of whom I had the opportunity to meet. I recall George Habash (1926-2008), founder of the Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine], aka 'the doctor,' one of the most influential leaders in Palestinian revolutionary thought. [I recall] the fighter Khalil Al-Wazir (Abu Jihad, 1935-1988), architect of the first Intifada, who was killed by the Mossad in Tunisia. [I recall] the fighter Salah Khalaf Abu Iyad (1933-1991), one of the most prominent leaders of Fatah and head of internal security in the PLO..."[3]
