Prior to joining Northeastern, the 6'3 netminder played two seasons in the USHL, posting a .899SV% in 74 games.
Following his NCAA career, Whitehead will work his way through the Golden Knights' ranks. Carl Lindbom and Akira Schmid have played in 58 of the Henderson Silver Knights' 62 games, although Schmid has struggled.
It's undetermined at the moment whether Whitehead will start in the AHL with the Silver Knights or Tahoe Knight Monsters in the ECHL.

New Twist On Flyers-Nicolas Hague Trade Rumor Revealed

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Nicolas Hague has been creating plenty of chatter as a potential trade candidate this off-season. It is understandable, as the 6-foot-6 defenseman is a pending restricted free agent and due for a raise. Thus, the Golden Knights could very well end up flipping him if his asking price for his next contract is too high. The Philadelphia Flyers are one of the teams that have been linked to Hague this off-season. When noting that Hague is a big shutdown defenseman right in his prime, he would have the potential to be a solid addition to the Flyers' blueline if acquired. Advertisement However, a new update has been provided regarding the Flyers and Hague trade rumor, which makes it questionable. According to The Athletic's Kevin Kurz, a team source "strongly denied" to him that the Flyers are interested in Hague. In addition, Kurz also added that he does not believe the Flyers will trade for the 26-year-old. While Hague appears not to be on the Flyers' radar, adding a new defenseman should be one of the Flyers' top priorities this summer. It is no secret that their blueline could use a boost, and this is especially the case when it comes to their right side. Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see what happens with Hague this summer, but Kurz's report creates some doubt about the possibility that Philly will end up acquiring the 2017 third-round pick. Aaron Civale gets Brewers trade wish granted — but ends up with MLB doormat

Aaron Civale should've been careful what he wished for. The right-handed pitcher was granted his request of getting traded from the Brewers — with one brutal caveat. He's headed to the horrendous White Sox. The Post's Jon Heyman reported the trade Friday morning, and according to FanSided's Robert Murray, the Brewers are acquiring first baseman Andrew Vaughan in exchange for Civale and cash. Civale, 30, requested a trade from Milwaukee after getting informed he'd been demoted from the rotation to the bullpen with the arrival of prospect Jacob Misiorowski. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect 'I just very respectfully said that Aaron would really like an opportunity to continue his career as a starter,' Civale's agent, Jack Toffey, told The Athletic of his message to the Brewers' front office. 'He's going to be a free agent at the end of the year.' Civale should have no issues breaking into the White Sox rotation, which is one of the worst in baseball as it stands. Chicago, the worst team in the American League with a 23-46 record, has a team ERA of 4.19, the eighth-worst mark in MLB. The White Sox have the worst record in the American League at 23-46. Getty Images Ironically, Civale's ERA this season is even worse – 4.91 – in five starts with the Brewers this season. The Northeastern product does have a solid track record in his seven-year MLB career, including some strong seasons as a member of the Guardians rotation. In his rookie year with Cleveland in 2019, Civale notched a career-best 2.34 ERA in 10 starts, which he matched in 13 starts with the Guardians in 2023 before he was traded to the Rays midseason. Civale is on a one-year, $8 million contract before he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. He most recently started in Milwaukee's 7-1 loss to the Braves on Monday, allowing two runs and five hits in 4 ½ innings.

Evan Siary strikes out 9 in 6 innings and Mississippi State ends Northeastern's season 3-2

Associated Press TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Evan Siary struck out nine in six innings, Mississippi State recorded the final out on a failed steal attempt, and the Bulldogs advanced to the final round of the Tallahassee Regional with a 3-2 win over Northeastern on Sunday. With two outs and the tying run at first, pinch runner Carter Bentley was tagged out by second baseman Gatlin Sanders on a throw from catcher Joe Powell and a review confirmed the call on the field. Mississippi State (36-22) will play No. 9 national seed Florida State on Sunday night and would have to win that game and beat the Seminoles again Monday to reach super regionals. Northeastern (49-11) had its season come to an end after another loss to the Bulldogs, who snapped the Huskies' 27-game win streak in the opening game. Siary (3-1) retired the first 13 batters, with five strikeouts. Stone Simmons earned his third save of the season after 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Simmons struck out Cam Maldonado looking with the bases loaded in the seventh to get out of a jam. Hunter Hines opened the scoring for Mississippi State with a shot off the left-field wall to score one on a double and he added a sacrifice fly in the fifth for a 3-1 lead. Gehrig Frei went 3 for 4. Northeastern coach Mike Glavine was ejected in the bottom of the eighth when Mississippi State had runners on the corners with no outs. ___ AP college sports:
