The incident took place Tuesday while police were searching a home in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon for a hit-and-run suspect. Officers spotted Jillian Shriner in the yard of her house, located next door, holding a pistol. Police said they asked her to drop the weapon multiple times, but she refused, instead turning it on the officers, per the LAPD's report on the incident. LAPD then opened fire and she was hit in the shoulder. No officers or members of the public were harmed during the incident, according to the LAPD report.
After being shot, Jillian Shriner ran inside her home, later reemerging with her babysitter, according to local news reports. She was then taken into custody and brought to a local hospital to be treated for the gunshot wound, which police say was non-life threatening. According to the Associated Press, she later posted $1 million bond and was released from custody.

Teen shot and killed in South Bay, suspect remains at large
Police are searching for a suspect after a young man was shot and killed in the South Bay of Los Angeles early Friday morning. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in Wilmington at about 1:15 a.m., according to authorities. The officers found a vehicle carrying about six people in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Wilmington Boulevard, with one suffering from a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were attempted on the man who was shot, but he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. He was identified by police only as an 18-year-old man, with the release of his identity pending notification of next of kin. Investigations revealed that the shooting that fatally wounded the man took place at Q Street and Lagoon Avenue, not far from where police found the car. Police said it was likely a car-to-car shooting, and there's a possibility it was gang-related. Of the six people inside of the vehicle, there were multiple under the age of 18, per police. No suspects were identified as of 5:30 a.m. No additional details were immediately made available.

Arnold Schwarzenegger wants family movie with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt
Arnold Schwarzenegger is keen to make a movie with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt. The 77-year-old actor is open to the idea of a collaboration with his 31-year-old son and son-in-law - who married his daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019 - but insisted they wouldn't do so for the sake of it as the script would have to be good enough. He told E! News of the possibility: "It's one of those things that if there's a great script, then of course, we would do it. "But you can't just make up this stuff. You can't just say, 'OK, let's just put the three together in a movie and not have a great script.' " The Fubar star called on filmmakers to make the project happen. He said: "You don't have to talk about it, just do it." Arnold - who, as well as Katherine, 35, and Patrick, 31, also has Christina, 33, and Christopher, 27, with ex-wife Maria Shriver and Joseph Baena, 27, with Mildren Baena - is also open to the idea of following in his son's footsteps and starring in The White Lotus. Asked if he'd be interested in a role in the anthology series, he said: "Whenever I see something good, I am interested in it, so we will see." The former Governor of California is delighted to witness Patrick's success because his son has always been interested in acting. He said: "Patrick always had a love for show business. He has spent a lot of time on the set with me when he was a kid. He was doing his homework in my movie trailer, he was watching me shooting on stage. I think he got the desire right then and there." Meanwhile, the veteran action star is excited about the new season of Fubar, even if he finds certain physical scenes "very, very tough" these days. He teased: "The second season is a lot, a lot of great, great action, and also really funny moments. "The actual sequences are very, very tough to do, especially when you do night shoots and all that. But it's a lot of fun." While Arnold is proud of Patrick, he recently admitted he was shocked when his son stripped naked in The White Lotus. During a joint interview for Variety's 'Actors on Actors' series, he told his son: "I couldn't believe [it]. "I said to myself, 'I'm watching your show, and I'm watching your butt sticking out there.' And all of a sudden, I see the weenie. "What is going on here? This is crazy. "Then I said to myself, 'Well, Arnold, hello. You did the same thing in Conan and Terminator, so don't complain about it.' "But it was a shock to me that you were following my footsteps so closely."

An AP photographer captures a powerful moment in the chaos of the Los Angeles protests
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jae Hong is based in Los Angeles and has worked with The Associated Press for more than 18 years, covering many of the city's biggest stories. Hong says protests in LA can change very quickly — one moment peaceful, the next chaotic — but he always tries to stay safe while telling the story through his this photo? The protests against President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown had been growing since Friday after a raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement downtown. I knew Sunday would be the biggest, most tense day. The National Guard had been called in, bringing even more people into the streets. How I made this photo When the protesters gathered again in front of the Metropolitan Detention Center, I followed. At first, it was peaceful. But moments later, LA police officers in riot gear arrived, ready to clear the area. A few hundred protesters moved onto the freeway and blocked the southbound lanes. The officers quickly surrounded the protesters, pushing them back onto the on-ramp. I was trapped in the middle of the crowd and the officers on the ramp, packed in so tightly that I could barely move. I kept my camera up to my eye, trying to capture the protesters' anger and fear. In the middle of it all, through the smoke and chaos, I saw this moment: A woman in a gas mask, standing face to face with a line of police in full riot gear, her hands raised, not to fight, not to give up, but appealing for calm. Why this photo works This photo shows the range of emotions in the crowd as protesters stood their ground. The smoke filling the air makes the moment feel even more intense. And it happened in broad daylight on a major Los Angeles freeway, making it even more powerful. For more extraordinary AP photography, click here.
