A 3-inch Flamin' Hot Cheeto shaped like Charizard sold for $87,840 at an auction on Sunday. The final bid, which was initially $72,000, was boosted by a buyer's premium, bringing the total to $87,840.
The Cheeto, which went up for auction on February 10 with an initial price of $250, was discovered by Georgia-based collectibles store, 1st and Goal Collectibles, sometime between 2018 and 2022.
A representative from Goldin told Polygon that the Cheeto was not intentionally modified to resemble Charizard but was found in its natural shape.
The Cheeto went viral in 2024 after it was rediscovered by the store's workers while going through a safe. The company then upgraded its enclosure to preserve the Cheeto and added a custom nameplate inspired by Pokémon cards. Eventually, it was auctioned off at the Goldin auction house.
Despite the hefty price tag, the Pokémon-shaped Cheeto does not hold the title for the highest-selling Cheeto. In 2017, a Flamin' Hot Cheeto in the shape of the late gorilla Harambe sold for $99,900, although the legitimacy of the sale is unclear, as the seller claimed the winning bidder backed out.
While there may not be many collectors specifically searching for Cheetos with unique shapes, the market clearly exists. Frito-Lay previously ran a Cheetos Museum to showcase uniquely shaped snacks and awarded $150,000 in prize money for the top 10 Cheeto shapes submitted by the public. Now, collectors are turning to auction houses and online platforms like eBay to find the next snack sensation.

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz hire Meghan Markle's lawyer amid Beckham family rift

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly hired Jenny Afia, the high-profile lawyer known for representing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, amid ongoing rumors of a family rift with the Beckhams. The couple has retained Afia of the UK-based Schillings law firm to assist with reputation management, according to a report published by The Mail on Sunday on May 31, 2025. Jenny Afia gained public attention for her legal work with Meghan Markle during the Duchess of Sussex's successful 2021 lawsuit against the publishers of the Mail on Sunday over privacy and copyright infringement. Brooklyn, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, and his wife Nicola have been at the center of intense media speculation regarding strained ties with the Beckham family. Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty dies at 70 after brief illness

Ronald Fenty, father of pop superstar Rihanna, has reportedly passed away at the age of 70. According to Starcom Network News, a Barbados-based radio station, Fenty died early Saturday morning in Los Angeles after a brief illness. An official cause of death has not yet been disclosed. Family members have gathered in California to commemorate his life, with photos showing Rihanna's brother, Rajad Fenty, visiting Ronald at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier this week. Rihanna herself was believed to be with her brother but has not made any public statements regarding her father's passing. Ronald Fenty and Rihanna had a complicated relationship over the years. The singer publicly described their connection as 'really strange' during a 2011 Vogue interview, reflecting on the emotional challenges they faced. He reportedly struggled with addiction, which contributed to tensions, and he divorced Rihanna's mother when the singer was 14. Despite these difficulties, Rihanna and Ronald reconciled for a time. In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna spoke about separating her father's roles as a parent and husband, acknowledging the positive impact he had on her life. However, the relationship appeared strained again by 2019 when Rihanna sued him over the use of her name in his talent development company. The lawsuit was later dismissed, with both reportedly making amends. Ronald also expressed pride in his role as a grandfather to Rihanna's son, RZA, who was born in May 2022. He shared how Rihanna had brought the child to her home island of Barbados twice and described her as a protective and loving mother. As of now, Rihanna has not publicly addressed her father's death.
