Extremely emaciated puppy abandoned near Cobb home in freezing weather
Detectives in Cobb County are seeking the public's help in identifying a person connected to an aggravated animal cruelty case.

Crime Stoppers said the incident happened on Feb. 21.
On Feb. 22, just before 1 p.m., authorities said a Good Samaritan reported the incident to Cobb County Animal Services.
The witness said an unidentified man had abandoned an extremely emaciated mixed-breed puppy, resembling a labradoodle, in a metal cage near a home on Forest Lane SE in Marietta. Surveillance video shows the man dropping off the cage and running away.

According to detectives, the cage did not have food, water, or bedding. At that time, the dog was left in between 30 to 32 degrees weather, officials said.
On Feb. 24, doctors examined the puppy and found that the ribs, spine, pelvic bones, and all bones close to the skin's surface were visible from a distance. There was no visible body fat, but there was a significant loss of muscle mass.

8-year-old shot in South Fulton
The South Fulton Police Department said one person was arrested after a 8-year-old was shot Friday night. Officers responded to the 4300 block of Cascade Road and found an 8-year-old child with a gunshot wound to the leg. 2 arrested after chase that started in Villa Rica, involved 2 collisions, police say
Police say two people from Atlanta were arrested after a chase that stretched from Villa Rica to Carrolton on Thursday. The Villa Rica Police Department said the suspects' truck damaged three other vehicles, but no one was reportedly hurt. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] A Villa Rica officer said he tried to stop a Ram truck for an illegal window tint at about 8 p.m. Thursday. Police said the truck traveled slowly before coming to a stop in the fast lane on Highway 61. Once a second police unit arrived, officers tried to contact the driver, later identified as Kevin Lynch. Police said the truck hit two vehicles, and debris from one of those collisions struck a third vehicle. People in the truck were also seen throwing items out of the vehicle during the chase. Lynch and passenger Julia Brown were arrested on several charges. Lynch was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of firearm by convicted felon, possession of a firearm during certain crimes, felony fleeing and eluding, several counts of hit and run and several other traffic offenses. Brown was charged with tampering with evidence, criminal trespass and obstruction and littering. Villa Rica police said Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol and Carrollton Police Department assisted in the arrest. Officials say this incident is still being investigated.

Second inmate who escaped minimum security facility in Ohio arrested; 2 remain on the run
Two of the four inmates who escaped a minimum security facility in central Ohio two weeks ago have been arrested, according to our news partners in Columbus, WBNS-10 TV. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Online jail records in Franklin County show that Micahel Norton, 32, was arrested on Friday. As previously reported by News Center 7, Jeremy Bowen, 30, was the first inmate who was caught. He was arrested on May 24. Norton was one of four inmates who escaped the Franklin County Community-Based Correctional Facility in Columbus on May 22 by smashing through a window.
